0083 MGs desperately needs a 2.0 or a Ver.Ka. This is the first third party I'm looking forward to.
Seriously. 0080 got the Alex 2.0, where's the GP01 2.0 or a Real Grade GP03 to go with the Dendrobium?
In terms of Ver.Ka. it's kinda weird, because iirc, wasn't 0083 the first series Katoki did work on in a mainstream sense?
couldn't agree more.
Fuck. The One Year War OVA Series needs new kits. I would so love an RX-79 Ground Type Gundam in a Master Grade scale with new engineering.
after the zeta ver ka redesign im not sure i even want another ver ka
Due to the lack of master grades and to feed my plastic addiction I've been dipping into 3rd party model kits and they're amazing, like the thunderbolt, blue flame, 'stargazer', genesis, trailblazer, Caoren and etc. I've preordered this too on top of other 3rd party kits.
The problem with most original designs from 3rd party companies is that the Chinese love making everything super spiky to a pointless and almost lethal degree, lol. Thunderbolt is great though.
Ditto. I'm all over those Motor Nuclear kits.
I tried dipping into 3rd party kits with the Dragon Momoko Deathscythe Hell TV version and I regret it because the fitting is horribly tight
Where do i find this 3rd party ones?
@@bryanmay8355 the kits have been amazing including one of the figures Lu Bu that i got, the recent grunt unit was amazing too waitng for the white sword grunt right now :D
I typically only buy MGs and Bandai has been severely lacking. I remember when it was almost monthly that Bandai would release a new MG. Now we might get 1 new original MG a year. I’m glad these 3rd party companies are stepping in.
It's a shared pain, fellow MG-enjoyer.
It’s a sad state of affairs.
Bandai: And the next Ver. Ka is......
Us: Please be anything from 0083, please be anything from 0083...
Bandai: Narrative Gundam!
Us: .........
Solomon: Fine, we'll do it ourselves.
They for sure used or at least were inspired by the legs of the MG Sazabi Ver.ka. Which makes total sense.
The 08th MS gundam show was so good like when you were talking about the grunts in the universe
Vietnam Gundam is good Gundam
0083 is an excellent series of Gundam. Anyone who loves Gundam and has seen 0083 is a person of class and culture (if you haven't seen it you should). The GP-02 is one model I have waited quite a long time for a MG remake. I'm happy someone is doing it. Also to boot, there is a guy named RQ Mecha that just came out with a GP-02 (on the way STL 3D print file). I personally am waiting for Kampfer (0080) and Gerbera Tetra (0083) in Master Grade...
GP-02 is one of my personal favorites glad you covered it.
I loved 0083, I regard it as one of the best military scifi stories out there.
SOLOMON, I'M BACK WITH MY 3rd PARTY KIT!!
For the popularity of 3rd party kits! For the success of the MG GP02A 2.0!
SOLOMON, I HAVE RETURNED!!
okay now we need the GP01 FB for complete diorama of their battle
you gotta admit the non-licensed 3rd party manufacturers are now making better and putting way more efforts on gundam models than bandai itself
08th MS Team, War in the Pocket and Stardust Memory were great additions to U.C.. I'm glad I got physical copies of them from Rightstuf before they were bought out by Sony/Crunchyroll. Same with Blu-ray for Zeta and Char's Counterattack, which I had the dvds prior from way back when Mediaplay was a store😅.
Mediaplay was the absolute GOAT! I got all of Robotech there in the special boxes that came with miniature Veritechs.
@@Proto1Dude Nice! I got the collection set of Zeta Gundam that came with miniatures of the main mobile suits for the AEUG, Titans, and Neo Zeon. Also, my PS2 additional graphics card was updated for FF11 back in the day. My Mediaplay even had anime watch parties with discounted deals for the shows/movies we watched that day. I was sad when they closed due to sad financial failure/management.
@@VanTesla From what I've learned over the years their downfall was intentional. Best Buy bought the parent company of Mediaplay and Suncoast Video. After the acquisition they realized that wherever there was a Mediaplay or Suncoast, the local Best Buy store would have terrible numbers. So instead of making free money off of Mediaplay and Suncoast they killed them.
@@Proto1DudeSounds about right, and I just forgot that travesty entirely. Which is similar to say when Gamestop bought any meaningful competition and slowly shut them off. Also, it looks like the algorithm shadow banned your reply this time for who knows why... couldn't see it without going through the newest reply manually.
I still haven't seen Zeta or ZZ, but I love, 08th MS Team, 0080, 0083, and Char's Counterattack
I believe the reason that they can make it so detailed is that its the only kit they're making.
Simple rule of business. If they can't or won't make a certain product, someone else will. Mg jagd doga, woundwort, and now this.
this is sold in China for less than USD40. Crazy.
Now I know where to start watching Gundam.
Same was gonna start with witch from mercury but stardust memory has a lot of badass designs
Stardust Memory is basically top gun: Gundam
It does spoil the death of some characters but since it doesn't go into how they died it is a really good jumping off point if you want to get a feel for the UC timeline without committing yourself to a 50ish episode series. Gundam the 08th MS Team and Gundam War in the Pocket are two other really good shorter entries in the original continuity they where bolth dubbed by the same people who dubbed Cowboy Bebop and Trigun so your can't go wrong when picking to watch the sub or dub.
Got it. Came without a box, had to search for the magnet and lamp assembly. Luckily all parts were there and only some off of the runners. Gonna be lit whenever i get to build this. Been waiting years ❤
Bandai, just like all the other big companies is no longer interested in taking risks and that’s why they made WFM. In recent years Bandai has made it clear that they are no linger interested in making MG or PG kits unless it’s a Ver Ka, MGEX or PG Unleashed, SMH. It would be nice if Bandai went back to putting out 10 MG kits a year like they did a decade ago.
The fact that there are people out there who think Gundam Wing is better than the UC timeline is psychotic.
Nostalgia makes people forget how bad some timelines are
As a huge wing fan I agree with you, love the show, was my childhood. Were not for the sick dressings the show falls flat on his face
Or we could just not bash people for their opinions.
@azraelcales i dont think saying wing is better than uc is a good opinion thats just starting a comment war by itself
@azraelcales I'm just messing around dude if people like it more power to them, I just find it funny how fondly it's remembered in America as a good drama considering how unintentionally funny the English dub is.
This makes me hope for a 3rd party MG GP-03 Dendrobrium
Mechanicore/Rodams made something similar, the Partido Lago.
@@Enlapanlima I have the Rodams test version of the GP03. It's so much work to build it, but the end product is beautiful.
The Dendrobium Rocks!😎👍
The details on the suit is fantastic
Wow, that's really cool! This is a great video!
Thank you sir, just ordered 3 of these. This will be my second gunpla kit.
THERE'S A GUNDAM DOWN HERE!
Gato and the nuke are the single most destructive force in the UC
Beautiful work as always.
The Gundam Prototypes, The RX-93 are peak UC. which is is why the RX-0 was such a let down for me. well The RX-0 when it's open. when it's closed it looks pretty cool.
@@theblacknothing I love RX-O in all of its forms but I can absolutely see that argument.
@@Darksy_DePhil Honestly If it stayed unicorn and had light grey or off-white torso and feet It would look so much better. it needs something to break up all the white and not neon red/green
@@theblacknothing I'd take almost anything over Phenex. I'm all for gold but I think that thing is ass ugly.
Pre ordered this from Gundamit also ,0083 is my no 1 fav Gundam series ,and i hope this company gives us a GPO1 too that is a dream but since i know this is going to sell so well i see it being a possibility !
GP-02 is one of those designs that will never be matched. It was perfect from the word "go".
I haven't built a model kit since I was a teenager, but I want this.
0083 was awesome and I didnt even know this was out there and glad you posted it.
holy hell I just finished watching the first three episodes like 10 minutes ago and this pops up
Holy moly, this kit reminds me of the larger scale Five Star Stories minus the LEDs and actuated parts. Thanks for also mentioning where the Gundam property is in the world on recognition/scope. In looking at the video, the concerns are going to be the flaps on the blue pieces on the arms and the thruster pack joints to the shoulders/upper arms. You may want to do a little sanding on the outer edges.
Just last week I read the manga for this particular story. I like the design of the GP02 and wondered why I have never seen a model for it. And...now this video appears talking about the GP02.
I'm experiencing a wave of "coincidences" lately. A couple of weeks ago helicopter flew over my house just as a youtuber I was watching mentioned something that looked like a helicopter. I saw a meme picture about old people's habit of hoarding stuff for future use and later I saw a totally different meme video about the same theme. This happened a lot when I was still active building models before the pandemic. I would draw a plan to kit bash some models into a fantasy what-if vehicle only for RUclips or Facebook recommending me the real life versions or somebody else already made one. I guess it's also a coincidence that I have started building my first model, a helicopter, of the year with a number of others planned.
Bandai is starting to remind me of Game Freak, the Pokemon company who makes lazy broken games despite Pokemon being the most lucrative franchise in the world. Now a small Indy Dev studio made Palworld that is Breath of the Wild, Meets Pokemon, Meets Ark. Truly amazing, Indy devs are stepping in where Billionaire companies don't even make the minimal effort.
Two Gunplay videos in one day, it's a late Christmas present. Thank you Papa Gundam
I’m in the US and I can only get cr1220 batteries. They are not strong enough for both the lights and the motors to move. Works without the motors. What stronger batteries can I get here
what model is that your showing when you mention the newest p bandai kit and bandai stealing the molds
This will be my first 3rd party kit, super excited. I remember the old MG Gp02, dear god it shows it ages.
I couldn't PO this absolute unit of a kit sadly. I'll just hope and pray that I'll find one next year. Might be a good present for myself if ever
Wish it had some sort of way to lock the arm to hold the shield up though that is asking for a lot. Aside from that, everything else just makes me excited for this kit to come. Biggest thing I'm curious about is how the build experience will be especially for beginners who've only built a couple bandai kits like me
Just finished building this, it's really great! Some parts fit too tight or too loose, like the ankles, but still great for the price!
Already pre ordered one. To avoid copyright Solomon does include a different head you can use and different decals, it’s the same thing that Mechanicore does to avoid copyright.
Mechanicore also named it a as a fictional dinosaur 🤪
Third party plamo manufacturers have been killing it lately, even their mecha musume kits such as the Nuke Matrix ones are more or less topnotch.
The few problems I tend to see are the tight fitting tolerances and the egregious use of undergates on parts that don't really need them (and in the case of mecha musume, the anatomical proportions and facial designs can be hit or miss). But even tiny things such as color separation are crazy good, if a tad complicated to build.
This is one of my favorite gundam designs. So excited to see an updated version of it. Where did you pre-order it? I really want to get one.
Hi, i am wondering where you got this kit, is possible for you to tell me?
The more talk I see about this kit, the more I want it. It looks simply beautiful and Bandai is dropping the ball everywhere these days.
I hope you do a review of Supreme Evolutions Stargazer. The Stargazer is by far my favourite Gundam in the franchise (followed by Strike Noir and Zephyranthes), and it's disappointing to me that Bandai has never made an official MG kit of it.
This looks amazing! The only thing I worry about third party kits is how much the released product differs from the prototype images (or videos in this case). Do they have any previous track record?
This looks *VERY* tempting, and I see people complaining about the price, but it looks worth it. My only major concern is the connection between the two halves of the bazooka when those pins don't line up like they're supposed to.
Itll be a while before building it but just got my first third party with the Moonlight Judge. Excited about the die-cast frame
pre ordered this as soon as I could.
Where can I preorder? Can’t find it anywhere. :(
The website says they've sold out of the pre-orders. Do you know of another website that would sell this kit? Love the channel, your awesome dude.
Does anyone know where I can preorder a Solomon GP02 kit?
Woah! Two videos in a single day!? We eating good tonight boys!
Any idea where to order this from???
I miss the old 90s Gundam anime’s especially stardust memory it was my first intro to Gundam in UC universe . The retro feel that I miss when I was a kid
i just want a RG GP02a SOOOO bad :(
but this kit looks absolutely siiiiiiiick
Baidai is being busy for changing color of Shinanju.
DAMN YOU I WASNT GOING TO BUY ANY MORE GUNDAM THIS MONTH
I can't find any stores except one and it's not actually accepting pre-orders. I've been asking for a GP-02 update for YEARS.
You know, ive been meaning to get myself a 1/100 GP02 Gundam. So I am definitely pre-ordering mine, because hot damn that's got to be the best looking MG kit in years since the Ver.KA Sazabi and etc in recent years.
That's a really sexy MG of one of my favourite Gundam Designs. I haven't gotten any new Gunpla in a while as I'm a bit strapped for frivolous spending right now and I've already got a bit of a backlog of kits to make. I normally love MGs as my preferred scale because I like the size on top of how many more unique details MG kits seem to have (extra detailing, more mechanical design, etc. - I like RGs for a similar reason despite their smaller scale). The stuff shown in the video here looks really nice, I'd love having this GPO2 sitting in a case, posed with his BEEEEEG beam saber and shield. Heck, I'd even love a more updated version of Gato's Gelgoog. I got the older MG for that and it surprised me how different the build felt compared to newer MG kits lol. Lot of older stuff that could use some new releases, updates, or appreciation. Would love having the Kampfer or the O too... I'm getting away from myself fantasizing lol.
A bit of a side ramble: I haven't actually kept track of what kits have been coming out as of late, not even sure where you see that stuff, but I feel as if I haven't really seen any new MGs or other kits that interest me much. I get a sense I should check out more 3rd party kits, I don't know how reliable they are compared to Bandai's offerings, but I do love seeing how they seem more willing to take a chance on making lesser known/prominent Mobile Suits into MGs, at least from what I understand anyway as a more casual builder/collector lol. You bring up Resin kits too, but I've never worked with a Resin kit either, not sure what to expect out of that or how it would differ from the usual plastic stuff.
I feel you there man. I've been wishing for them to finally release the barzam refined, I was lucky enough to get the robot spirits version before they went to ridiculous prices.
Where can I preorder this :o
where do you pre-order this
Man I really need to start paying more attention. This is the first I have heard of this kit and looks like all the preorders are sold out.
I’ve built most of the MG 0083 kits, and they are definitely terrible. With some paint, they can look great, but it’s sad how little care Bandai is giving 0083.
Bandai follows the money, if the RG GP01 sold like hot-cakes, we probably would have seen an RG GP02 by now, or a full mechanics release for it.
Instead its been a lot Unicorn, Seed, and occasionally a Wing Zero.
where do you preorder one?
Can't wait for Gundam painting lessons!
This reminds me of the MG Sazabi with all of the big bulky opening armor
Damn i want this kit!! Also kinda leaning towards saving the scrilla and just buying the daban pgu rx782..
the only most recent GP02 before this was the RX-78GP02R Gundam GP-Rase-Two a custom version of the gp02 from gundam build divers as a hg. but yea this kit looks just amazing
Where is a good place to pre order
where can i order it from the US
I have just one problem - where to buy?
If bandai would release an MG like this, Gerbera is my pick ❤
Where to pre order?
Nice attention to detail, especially with the bazooka. 0083 is still one of my favorite Gundam series.
Calling it now: Bandai is going to have the next MGEX include motorized gimmicks.
It is like Pokemon. Those folks who have IP stopped putting effort. Loyal fans are buying from Bandai anyways and help policing third parties regardless of quality.
Honestly the 2.0 line was the last hoorah of the MG line in my opinion that was when MG's has finally reached PG levels of gimmicks and details. Now Bandai seems to be more focused on action poses than giving us open hatch gimmicks and insanely detailed inner frames.
Seeing a lot of hate on gundamit, since they jacked up prices a lot.
Was thinking I might keep them bookmarked for interesting kits, but for that markup I've got some more local sellers that I trust more.
The RX78GP-02A was one of the first kits i built (the original bandai run, cost an arm and a leg) and holds a special place on my display as not only my favorite Gundam, but as a reminder of how far I have come. Really excited to get my hands on this third party model
0083 is my favorite gundam ip. I own all of the mgs, and the pg is my pride and joy. Im a Bandai guy through and through, I wish they would have capitalized on the anniversary and release some 2.0s, but oh well. Thank goodness for the 3rd party. That nuke bazooka gimmick on this kit has me in awe. You were spot on with your critique of Bandai and the lack of innovation from them lately.
“I pre-ordered it. I still have 3 other similar models to build in their boxes, but this one is different”
Spoken like a true gundam collector 🤣
Physalis, which I've always pronounced as syphilis, was always one of my Gundams since I saw it in the movie version. Always meant to get the hg, but this looks fantastic. I bet the company called themselves Solomon just to release the nightmare to the world. I'll probably never get it at this moment, but I envy the ones who do. This is the kind of treatment Gato deserves.
I’ve never been a fan of this design until now..
VERY impressive looking kit.
Looking at this kit, it is like a sweet dream coming true.
i hope they go on to make parts to convert this into the Beam Bazooka type and the MLRS type
Already preordered it lmao
Nice to hear gundammit is a reliable store, kept seeing it pop up and needed an alternative to gundam place store
Oh wow, I'm JUST about to start 0083 for the first time!
Was it the DM blue Frame, not the out frame, that caused the closure?
It's testament gundam and out frame D that got them
?????? i picked up a master grade GP-02 a couple years ago. i have it on my shelf in the other room. and it looks great. you can find gp-03 at the big bad toy store right now, Canadian gundam store right now has the GP-03 and GP-02, thats where i got mine,... o and on page 4 when sorting by in stock, that same store has the GP-01. those master grades are not hard to find and are still in circulation. gundam you want to find it ask your brother tim here lol|
now i will admit my MG gp o2 does not have the detail that your showing with these kits, that bazooka is sick, and all the hatch gimicks are sweet
the biggest problem with my kit is that it cant hold its own shield. its just to big for those bandai hands and polycaps. :P
Man, I really want that GPO3 with the mobile Armor so bad I remember my first time looking at that Beast take out a whole Fleet.
when i saw the bazooka automatic pre order. Motor nuclear kits are amazing. Update, its amazing, only issue is the bazooka connector a bit flimsy
Mine was in stuck in Denmark for a month or so but is finally in the states which means I should get it soon. Unless it’s usps then I should expect it to leave and return the same facility multiple times for another month.
Meanwhile Bandai gives us Metaverse
THEY ADDED ROTATING PARTS. OH BABY.
