      "Macross Do You Remember Love?" did some of anime's most iconic nuke explosions. (they are called 'reaction missiles' in Macross series which is a sci-fi version of nukes that the aliens; called Zentradi, don't possess but are very scared of)
      Please do yourself a favor and watch Macross Do You Remember Love. It's a masterpiece. Best explosions of all time. (especially the final battle scene. Gradius V game kind of ripped off it after you defeat an end-of-level boss :P )

    Despite this massive lost, Federation still had a substantial force that forced Zeon to retreat, so this attack almost seemed insignificant. What's worse, Zeon's purpose didn't get fulfilled, and instead the Federation spined it around and used it to justify the formation of the Titans. It's 0080 all over again.

    • @michaelthayer5351
      @michaelthayer5351 9 дней назад

      While the Federation still had the numerical advantage after Operation Stardust, the losses incurred here combined with the staggering losses of the One Year War meant that the Federation was never able to bring the Zeon Remnants or other Spacenoid factions fully to heel as they just didn't have the forces left to patrol commercial and logistical routes, fight Zeon Fanatics, and keep the remaining Colonies from getting any dangerous ideas about autonomy.
      Naval strategy is built strategy, and ships take a lot of time, manpower, and resources to build, which were in critically short supply after the One Year War's Billions of casualties halved the Federation's productive capacity. Don't let Bandai's greed and the need for new toys every season fool you.
      This is why in Char's Counterattack the Federation government was so willing to cut a deal in exchange for disarmament as Char had coalesced most of the remaining malcontents in his Neo Zeon and if they put down their weapons then it would finally give them some breathing room and put an end to the near constant conflict that followed the wake of Zeon's bid for Independence.

    Major W for the Zeon forces. Use the federations weapon against them. Oh can someone remind me why the federation created the GP02 with nuclear capabilities in the first place? Who exactly were they preparing to use this against?

      Long story short, the Antarctic treaty was gone. The plan was to mop up Zeon Remnants or whatever they're opposed. Long story short, GP02 acted as an anti fortress, while GP01 acted as the vanguard

      @@kicapanmanis1060 Now what if, instead of attaching limbs to a mobile suit, you implement three wheels, one for each axis of movement, into the mobile suit's design and attach all three of these wheels to the MS's control mechanism? You basically achieve the same thing as AMBACs but without the needless complexity of having to control and maintain 4 limbs.
      This technology already exists. It's called a reaction wheel and it's already used for satellites and space stations.
