I’m a detention biller.. #1 reason I can’t get my drivers detention pay is because they didn’t write their IN/OUT times on the SBOL. This really solidifies our charges to the customer, whether they require it in their rate-con or not.. it is SUPER IMPORTANT to write these down on your paperwork. Also, send your detention macros about your delay, preferably with hourly updates! Without meeting these 2 simple requirements, you likely will not get paid for your delay.
I have our dispatcher call the broker and request an updated rate conformation that included the detention amount. I get a ton of charge backs from my funding company for denied detion submitted with invoice. I tell them we wont unload a fucking thing until I see the rate con in my inbox. I made the decision to play hardball and it works about 80% of the time. Tell the broker your funding company wont factor the load unless they have all the charges on a fresh rate con.
Notify them on arrival. Notify them 1 1/2 hours in and what door they are in to let them know in 30 minutes you are going to be in detention. Notify them that you are in detention and will send pod with In and out times. Email and send them the bol with the times on there sigbed when they leave and press for that new rate confirmation.
Thank you for educating me sir. It was very helpful. Now let me ask you this: Is it safe to book a load from a broker with poor credit? What is the risk dealing with poor credit score brokers? I would be happy to hear from you about that on your next post. Again thank you.
Coyote logistics does not pay detention either did all the steps they requested had all documented and they denied detention pretty bad way to deal with a carrier that has 100% on time record with them
When I worked on the carrier side, I did it (or my team did) on every shipment. Most of the time everything went smooth and I didn’t need to pull up records but every once in awhile, a broker will question your integrity and you need to be able to provide receipts
There are many good broker out there that does it right but carriers seem to like doing business with "big name" brokers despite all of the foolishness they have to tolerate. Go figure.
We do this way before you came in to the picture so we don't need your macro.we have a very well oiled machine. The problem you all think drivers o/o are stupid. Your bs statements are bs .you must need a babysitter and hold your hand remember its our phone NOT YOURS
When you say “you” I hope you’re not referring to “me”. If you’re a load board carrier- you’re already well accustomed to tracking so I assume you watched the video to “see” what brokers see and that’s the whole reason why I did it
Thanks sharing your knowledge much appreciated.

One more question.
Who sets the detention rate per hr?
Broker or carrier?

Pls read bill. It says marked bills will result in denying any payments. Your info is of no use.

This video was a waste of time. You didn’t say nothing that wasn’t common sense
