    Two Guns is absolutely rocking the body work. Tommy the only thing you haven’t realized is we all start at the same place, learning. These videos will inspire thousands of other young people to fix it up themselves. Your work looks fantastic. It’s going to be one badass truck, that YOU built. Super proud of you.

I also was worried about doing a similar job many years ago and my dad said son it's metal you can't be afraid of trying , he isn't here now but just some of the things he said will follow me through life . Y'all are doing a great job and it shows we all are pulling for you and Allison both of y'all have your strengths and together y'all make a great team. Thank you for sharing your experiences with us. 😩 No you have to keep the stepside vibe I've seen thousands of fleetsides but not as many stepsides. I understand the reasoning behind it but it's not that hard to fix the bed you had a Saturday with a welder, grinder and some stock you could have learned something too.

      If racing, a flare side is 60lbs heavier, and ugly

    • @wescoupland3985
      @wescoupland3985 5 месяцев назад

      @@Michael666CA I understand but depending on the year a step side can be nice don't you think and when it comes to the weight it can be made lighter. I'm saying was I think the truck would have looked nicer with the other bed but in my comment I said it could be repairable but then it comes to the fact a lot of it is fiberglass it's not even worth it. I just think it would look nice on a race truck where I live in the Canadian Northwest you don't find those and if you do people want more for them the only ones I've been able to find are like 90s four wheel drives that have like 400,000 km on them and they want 15 grand prices of gone up so high after the pandemic.

    Every vehicle has some filler in them, but that bed is an easy fix honestly and will be lighter than the stepside bed. Painting a vehicle isn’t hard either Tommy, especially if you use a single stage paint but base/clear will give you better results. Base/clear is also more forgiving if you have any runs in your paint.

    When you cut through both panels at the same time like that the problem you run into is your gap is going to be at least as wide as the cutoff wheel you use so in the future I would get the thinnest cutoff wheels you can find. You can get 3” wheels as thin as 1/32”. Hope this helps with any future panel replacement your doing!

    We had a Corvare setting in the garage of a house we rented for a year while we built our new home. Rather me, my brothers and Dad built it when school was out for the summer in mid 80s. Anyway, it was a red one in mint condition. I remember it had a gear shift on the dash that was like 3 inches long, yes 3 inches. It was automatic. I was almost 15 years old and I wanted it but Dad said no because they could be dangerous due to the gas tank being under the hood in the front of the car, and the motor in the trunk in the back of the car. Think it was convertible too with a ra removable or canvas vinyl-like let-down top. I ended up getting the coolest black 55 Chev truck with a 1967 Stingray Vet 327 v8 with aluminum rased 4 barrel intake with factory headers and I believe it had the double hump heads where the spark plugs came out the side differently than normally. I understand that was a really good thing. All I knew was it had some more get-up-and-go with a low-geared rear-end. It had been through a hell storm so had a lot of Bondo sanding. Painted it with a wet-looking black with silver metallic in the paint with two clear coats on it. A friend's dad painted it for me. Thanks, Donald, I will never forget or stop appreciating you. I had saved up my money working from like 13 years old mowing, hauling hay, racking leaves. Any job I could find. When I got about 60 percent of the cost of the truck saved up my dad asked me to go for a ride with him and we went and got it and he paid the rest. If I had not I promise you I would have been walking. He would help when you helped yourself and only then. Thank you, Dad, you taught me how to be proud of myself as a man through hard work and good moral values.

From my experience with body work the painting process isn’t the scary part…the scary part is having great prep I’ve sprayed GREAT paint in a garage with the floor wetted down…and you can cut n buff it get it real smooth, BUT when doing body work / primer USE A GUIDE COAT AND BLOCK SAND to see high and low spots!! helps so much!!!
