Calvin Awesome has a series that he did about a year ago that focused on individual farms for gls and gl ships. I find it more useful than most of the bigger guides. The series didn't exactly speak about what order to farm things in, but it talks about which reqs to build first and what non req characters to farm and build to make the reqs useful. I find that sort of model to be really easy to digest and focus my efforts on all the elements of one big farm at a time. Idk i think every content creator could do a similar series and offer their own take on what characters to get and build in addition to the requirements including the characters that you want to use with the gl you get.
Overall I completely agree and think that a lot of people get lost in the CG hate but the game is literally better than it has ever been with so many viable options that dont just tank your account.
I think the most straightforward farming guide is Jedi Knight Luke and Executor. Farming towards those two will position you very well for GAC, Assault Battles (Rebels, Jedi, Bounty Hunters), Credit Heist, Fleet Arena, and your first GL being Leia, Jabba, or Jedi Master Luke Skywalker.
