Found a clip of an Ohio fan playing a joke on his Michigan-fan neighbor while he was out of town.....he mowed a script "Ohio" in his back yard lawn. The music he played while he marched/mowed was to this.....Le Regiment. AWESOME sound!!!! You Ohio fans have something to really be proud about!

I love how awkward it is for the I-Dotter and the Drum Major to just stand there and wait until it was the specific part of the song for the two to do the I-Dotter bow.

First time I heard this song was in 1987, from the Ohio State University Marching Band Cassette, when I play with SPDC in Bandung, Indonesia. In the cassette there were : Can't Help Falling in Love, Eleanor Rigby, Big Band Medley, Hang On Sloopy, etc. Thank you OSU Marching Band, for making me loving Marching Band since then till now...

Thanx SO much for posting that ! As a former bandsman, had played that march many times ... could remember my 'part' ....but couldn't remember the name. Thanx again ...made my day !
@@richarddecker4590 you're welcome mate ;) ... There are several versions of this military music, a fast one (the one Ohio used but also french army for her special troops called "Chasseurs" (they are like Rangers in US Army or Guards in British one)) and a slower one (the initial one)
It was the song of my section, during my military service in France!

Can someone explain to me why there are no woodwinds?
In a marching band sense, there really isn't a point of woodwinds. Their sound doesn't carry and isn't missed too much in the mix, especially while on field.

It's a long tradition for The Best Damn Band In The Land (TBDBITL).

It's modeled after British military brass bands, which as the name suggests only consist of brass and percussion.
