In order for DARK hair to go red from brown, the box dye blasts the cuticle to lighten and deposit, but when you remove it, yes the underlying red/orange pigment will be there. You have to re-deposit a color that is in the same level in the not an Or red shade you want. Just please never lie about what's in your hair, and tell your colorist what brand you used if you need a correction. It's not to shame you. It's to keep from melting your hair off. Some box dyes have metallic salts in them and I have NO idea what kind of reaction it could have witj this product. If heat or bubbling starts, rinse it off immediately! Just my best advice. Good luck!
I bleached my hair and dyed it red. It’s super patchy but I’m scared to remove and try to fix it. I have curly hair and it’s damaged but the curls are still there
I’m afraid to give you bad advice, i can’t see your hair to tell you. At this point you might need a hair stylist., you can always ask for advice for free. Hopefully you can find a good hairstylist who is willing to help you. My hair got so damaged after attempting to go pink, I’m just afraid to give bad advice Good luck with everything. Keep us updated
Thank you so much. I just used this and it worked, I may have to do another round because I still have some red in the mid section of my hair. The smell is awful but I. Just glad my hair is not damaged so thank you thank you!,, God bless you
I put manic panic wildfire red in my 5 year olds blonde hair. It's been MONTHS and it won't come out. I'm so disappointed because the purple and blue faded out completely.
My hair is a level 5 medium auburn/burgundy rn and my natural hair is a level 6G light golden brown. It shouldn't be too hard and I've been doing my hair for years. I'm gonna try that colorfix stuf!
I was surprised that i have to rinse only and then do step 3 which i did completely wrong. After I read the instructions very well ,I mixed 1&2 and left for almost 30 minutes shampooed my hair and put step 3 on my wet hair left it for about 5 minutes and rinse it and conditioner it still got a good results and I am thinking to do it one more time but this time i will do it your way
I had red hair like in 2016 and I still have the red tint 😒 I dyed it black but that red tint it’s still there.... I have naturally dark hair and I want to remove the red tint from my hair 😖 You can only see it in sunlight and it’s annoying.... Green shampoo didn’t help much
Any blue manic panic will change that...leave it in 30 minutes or do a strand test..do not mix it with conditioner just any blue manic panic...or blue hair dye for permanent results
Had chemo 5 years ago, so I'm really hoping for no adverse effects when I use this. I have really long hair, so if something does go a wry. I think it will only be the very bottom. Thanks for the heads up on the smell. How many washes before your natural color returned?
It don’t matter much, I’ve done this twice and did it on 2nd or 3rd day hair. My hair seemed clean to me. 😘 meaning I didn’t have lots of hairspray or gel. Try it out, you’ll be happy with the results
Do you put in yours roots. I’m scared I’m gonna go orange. My natural hair colour is brown and I dyed it red during first lockdown then a few weeks ago I dye it brown it was brown but now gone redish brown.
I dyed my hair red and it’s changing/fading every day.😡😩. I don’t want to keep dying it red because I want to keep my hair healthy! And I’m finding my hands red even after 4 months when I’m styling it. I’m an African American with natural hair so that could be another issue.
So sorry to hear this, sounds like you definitely need to try another hair dye. I’m pretty sure you can find a good one that you will like. Best of luck
If you like to do red I have been doing hair for 25 years it's so hair to remove red from your hair! I love red hair but unfortunately my kids and husband said it wasn't me! But swartscoft color is the best color to use and you should only color your hair every 6 weeks and take biotin daily..do deep conditioning treatments every week nomatter what!
Thanks for video..i just purchased the colorfix and was hesitant to try it , your results turned out nicely , if i remember, i will lyk how my experience went using the product 🙂
Hi , the colorfix worked nicely on any permanent colors i had , altho the stubborn direct color is still present , so i may try a different type of remover for direct color , my hair is so very porous, this may be a longer journey than i'd expected. Thanks you !!! XO
I applied where I wanted the hair dye to be removed, if I did get some on my hair growth I was not too concerned about it. I wouldn’t be too worried, if you get some on your natural roots. It shouldn’t make a difference. Good luck 😘😃 P.S. I’m not a hairstylist I just share my results and experiences
@@ashleyr8518 well I tried it last night lol. My hair is like a brownish redish lol i really dont want to use color fix again so ima just slap some brown hair dye today and call it a day 😂 I left some coconut oil over night and my hair doesn’t feel that damaged but we’ll see once I dye it

I used this to get rid of my red hair. The same night while the hair was still kinda wet I mixed 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar with the mother. And a cup of water. It gets rid of the smell really fast! Pour it unto your scalp and hair and then put a bag over it for about 7 minutes then rinse it out. Trust me, the smell will disappear ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
It sure helped me remove the red. I think it does remove orange, if you go to Sally’s beauty supply to purchase it there you can always ask the girls who work there also, good luck with everything👍😉
