My feeling is that Adam Lowry is never mentioned as captain of strong Jets team, he is doing all the hard work captain needs to be and he is doing it perfectly. Defensively stable, fights for teammates, strong in PKs. Most underrated captain in the NHL right now.

The real winner so far is me for three things. 1) Going to my first NHL game, which the Stars won! 2) Being able to actually keep up with the season, thank you, Victory+! 3) Finding this RUclips channel that's helping me keep up with the league as a whole beyond just the stadinga table.
Also, anybody I've bumped into in my online circles that enjoys hockey has been super welcoming and excided that I started watching. I'm super excited for the Stanley Cup playoffs. I always heard it was the hardest trophy to get of the Big 4 sports leagues.

    • @Xhunterdead9154

Welcome to the Hockey Community, Congrats on going ot your first game, always a good memory. Victory+ is single Handly the best broadcast you can have for a single team and Stars fans are so fucking lucky, Nhl Needs to Fix the whole Broadcasting disaster they have. This Channel is great but some others I'd check out are The Hockey Guy, dude covers everything from news, standings, waivers for every team and more. Johnny Hawkey, short 2-5 minute videos of various subjects for every team. I'd agree the stanley cup playoffs is the hardest, every series is best of 7 with only 1 day off between games including travel and It's easily the most Physically demanding of the big 4 sports. Also Dallas looks to be in very good spot for years to come i fully expect them to contend for atleast the next 5 years.

      @cmhockey03111 26 дней назад +2

I agree. The team is just not producing and that isn't Monty's fault. The real change needs to happen in the front office with Neely and Sweeny. Our "stars" aren't worth what they are being paid. This isn't the 80's or 90's were bigger D strive. The game is much faster and they are too slow. Not only that but they aren't even all that tough. They get pushed around and out battled along the boards in the D-zone.

It's sad to see the regression in my Wings. I know there are a lot of good kids coming but its sad to see the playoff barrier move away from us.
Biggest problem to me isnt Yzerman, he's betting on the future and is giving average players shorter term, cap friendly contracts untill the kids step in and can get paid longterm.
I have no issue with a Raymond and Seider getting locked but they need to step it up now.
This would be the first year our team stats go down, so I'm not going to be too hard on him for that.
The biggest problem to me is the lackluster coaching. Blashill and Lalonde aren't high quality strategists that can devise a system like Paul Maurice or Rick Tocchet and play to your teams strenghts. They keep getting outplayed on the PK and do not create any relevant offense. The fact that Lalonde and co don't seem to change this, indicates that he has no idea how to fix this.

The biggest disappointment this season is them being buffed up, but NOT using their size 🤦
Not sure what they can do with it cause the game is so fast, but they gotta step up and lay people out. Maybe have a forward hang back with them to to beef up the D line and allow them to squash people into the corners from a chip

Last week was pretty positive for the Habs following the crazy win against the sabers. They seem to be on the up and up. The Slafkovsky-Suzuki-Dach line seems to be working very well. Something clicked in the Guhle-Matheson D pairing and depth players (Dvorak, Evans, Gallagher, Anderson) are coming out of their slump.
It may be a flash in the pan but Saint Louis seems to be paying close attention making clever adjustments (see Arpon Basu's recent blog on his decision to bench Slafkovsky for a period).

Really enjoy your work. I am learning current hockey systems from you no one else talks about, I'm 61 and a lifelong player and fan. I had no idea how Bones was coaching the Jets last year until I saw your video on my team a few weeks ago. I always wondered why Appleton (no offense Jason ) seemed to getting more TOI than Nick Ehlers...he had a career year last year despite playing a paltry 13 mintutes on average. That is a crime ! I know Nick can be a liability at times defensively but he more than makes up for it. He's dangerous every time he touches the puck and he makes other players better. I heard a Dallas fan say in the comments that that was why Bones was fired there, he was too stubborn in his ways and was getting out-coached. Love the guy, but today's game requires constant adaption and flexibility, and the Jets have the depth to alter their style as needed. We shall see. It's a long season, and I think our D needs a top 4 upgrade before we can be considered a real threat to win Lord Stanley's Mug. Cheers

I enjoyed the video, agreed with almost all of your list, and insight. I think the jets historical start should have had more detailed breakdown, being it’s quite exceptional. You mentioned Steve yzerman as a coach and several other players on the redwings, and ignored Kyle Conner, mark schiefele, Lowry, morrissey for the jets. You clearly know hockey and are doing a great breaking down the game. Leave it up to a guy that can barely skate to give poor feedback haha. Also I’m an oilers fan and not a jets fan so although it’s a stupid comment it’s not biased, just stupid.

We need a half season check-up on where teams are and who's surprising and who's tanking . Are the Rangers where they should be ? Are Vancouver and Calgary doing anything notable ? Are the Kings for real or just hot right now ? I enjoy these random hockey topic videos !!!!

as a habs fan, their defense looked terrible until the last 2 games. They look like they are evolving pretty quickly. Ik beating the jackets 5 to 1 isn't the greatest accomplishment because they suck but still. We got a shutout against Edmonton 3-0. Monty is looking great and the defense is starting to make sense haha. Laine should be back soon so yeah looking forwards to that we like what we are seeing. Hopefully they will do as good next game on saturday night against the golden knights. Great video as usual man kee^it up love watching your analysis.

great video!! i like all the picks. i'm gonna be honest though, i'm not as high on the devils as everyone else. don't get me wrong, they're a very good team, and they can be very fun to watch, but at this point in the season i'm not convinced they belong in the conversation of the nhl's elite just yet. they've cleaned up a lot from last year, but i feel like their numbers so far have been inflated by playing like 4 more games than everyone else. that's just a quirk of the schedule and will get ironed out, but their .619 points percentage through 21 games is good for 10th in the league. good?? yes. elite?? not yet. once the games played even out later into the season we'll see how they really stack up with everyone else, but at this point there are at least 5 teams in the east who i would consider better than the devils right now.

I hope we figure it out 😅

Those teams have been tied at the hip for so long, the Pens look like they’re finally falling into the pit that it looked like the Caps were a couple years ago of being too old and slow to play their brand of hockey. Caps avoided that fate for now, and might have what it takes to win one more Cup with Ovi, but man what a storybook ending to that rivalry would be if they both made the yoffs and played each other one last go for all the marbles.

Great video as always, but respectfully I'm not sure I agree about the Wild's success coming out of nowhere, which is a line I've heard a lot this season so far. The team had two seasons of 100+ points in a row, still largely have the main core with some positive additions, and had a lot of injuries/issues last year that made it a down year for the team. Add a dash of bias, but I'm not surprised. If anything, last season was the anomaly

Main difference for the Devils has also been goaltending. I think last season they had the worse goalies in the League. This year, it's one of the best duos so far.

Jake Allen has been absolutely phenomenal, Markstrom has been slightly below average, and I'm feeling a bit of buyers remorse considering we gave up a 1st round pick for him. I hope he gets hot and stays consistent, because he has cost us some games, where as Allen has stolen us some games. We're only 21 games in though.

The Cats essentially had a playoff schedule with back to back games against DAL, WPG, NJ and still maintaining first place in the Atlantic is definitely a winner they haven’t been as dominant and haven’t played near their best hockey but they don’t play their best hockey in November

As a Caps fan, I thought our team defense of last year would carry over to this season.
At times, they do miss assignments leading to chances/goals scored.
    Overall, not bad.
We have 2 capable goalies to stop pucks.

Necas and Hellebuyck were heavily criticized for underperforming last playoffs, I think they took it personally and are now taking it out on the league this season.
