hence why Nintendo has been dragging their feet for so long that at this rate we're going to know everything there is to know before the official reveal via leaks. Big nostalgic franchises and pre-fast-internet social games are their forté, not cutting-edge hardware, and now Valve and others are already creaming them in the latter. If they don't have mega-nuke size games to reveal before the release, this could end up the biggest letdown since the Virtual Boy (backwards compatibility is nice but doesn't give me confidence that they won't lean on that instead, especially when emulation is already doing what Nintendon't). I'm being hyperbolic of course but the hype over practically nothing for this is wearing my patience to the point that I just dialed my expectations basically to the bottom, also thanks to how anti-consumer they've become to people who don't play their games exactly the way they intend you to. I already mentioned Valve, and maybe it's the RUclips algorithm playing to my biases in glazing them up, but what they will make both for hardware and games in the next few years has me more excited, even though I'm also not expecting anything earth-shattering from them either.

The Switch had a slow start from launch but grew into a behemoth, we can probably guess Nintendo won't do a repeat of that with slightly improved specs, but will have some new gimmick to go along as a fun little distraction within their existing franchises we've always come back to, like Wiimote waggle and Wii U's gamepad. What would really be good is if they made good on their games being mainstay social games (beyond even just "party" games) by having actually good online, they've always been behind on that. Their Japanese quirkiness is their strength in their games having a timeless identity, but their weakness in using tech to form connections with people outside of their secluded island.

If the switch decides to even use a high-end phone GPU/CPU from 1-2 years ago, then it still would be a massive upgrade. The iPhone from last year could run RE8, Death Stranding, and some other AAA games. The android ARM equivalent could probably do it, too. I'd predict the dock will have its own powerful dedicated extra GPU (at least that's what i saw from a nintendo patent). Also, I'm just hoping for this one but an actual VR support and being able to use they joy con as a VR controller accurately would be awesome and will be better than the old quests VR. Imagine Mario Kart with VR support as a launch title.

It's forgetting that these handheld PC cost like well... a PC. If you have a lot of money it's logical to not by as interested, but for most anything higher than $400 is rough.
50% _more_ drift? I get that this is satire, but I don't appreciate Hall Effect joysticks being undercut like that. They use magnetic fields instead of potentiometers to detect the position of the joystick. This means _less_ drift because it's not rubbing up against anything and wearing it down. They're also resistant to dust, dirt, and other particles that can cause joystick problems. If Nintendo implements these into their new Joycons, drift will be practically non-existent. It's one of those things I'm autistically fixating over. They are the future, after all.
I'd like to note, most controllers back in the day were also potentiometer joysticks. But neither my og gamecube nor ps2 controllers drift. I've bought them used, idk how old they are over all. But they still work amazing with no drift after atleast 10 years in my ownership. The Switch joycons already drifted in the first week. Even after cleaning out potential debris. Its not a problem with potentiometers, Its a problem with shoddy construction and shoddy qc.
