Old vid but I had to comment. Just did my 3K break in service on my f3s using lamonster garages kit. Did the tranny filter too as well as installing a K&N air filter. All I can say is the machine sounds a lot happier now. Was not hard at all but I work on industrial air compressors for a living so there is that. Last note, I was able to do the oil filter without removing the brake reservoir, just need to be patient and careful.
Nice job. Don't forget to depressurize the fuel line now. LOL Yeah, Can Am, let's make this as hard as we can. I wouldn't have done it either. Let it spray. LOL I think you have me talked into it, taking care of my own machine. The nearest Can Am dealer is 30 miles away and full of hacks. They couldn't even add a charger cable to the battery without burning it up. The good cycle shops would be learning on mine. I'd rather learn on it first. Like I said, I've been a gearhead for many decades. I even got a mini roll away tool box for it. I also picked up the fuel filter and clamps. Yeah, I don't like cutting those clamps off either. LOL I also don't like tiny hose clamps either. They kink unless they're perfect. I like that your machine is right at the point of needing this work. And it'll all be on video. Mine is 2 years old and only has 1,300 miles on it. But, I was sick last year and only had August when it was in the 90's. Problem is, this has to compete with my 02 Prowler roadster. Both need perfect weather. You should split up your pages and group the service videos in one section. Just a thought. Do I really need Buds and have to renew it every year? For ONE machine? Keep up the good work. Danny J

I love your Maintenance vlogs man ... Another job well done! I always check my Front Pulley too for any Red Dust & I also check it for any Play ... Will definitely look forward to when you change the plugs! That's a big job ... Ryde safe brother 👍😁🤟 Beanie
On my 2018 F3-LTD the instructions say to run the bike up to full operating temp, then idle for at least 10 minutes before checking oil? Something to do with the dry sump??? Is it different for your 1330???
My owners manual says to get it to operating temp and let idle for 30 seconds, shut off and check. I have heard to let idle for two fan cycles before checking if you can't ride it (winter time). Or just ride it for 10 miles or so. I think idling for 10 minutes is about how long it takes to get up to operating temperature.
thanks for your detailed video, you did very good job, is a head ace ,for aroun how much is the cost $$ in a dealer service including parts and labor ?
I have a 2015 F3S SE-6. Do I need to do the HCM every oil change? Or what is the intervals? It has 4,300 miles on it. I'm doing the oil change this weekend and didn't know if I should do the HCM while I'm in there? Thanks!!
When you went with the Amsoil, did you notice any difference in the shifting or smoother engagement? I am just not getting used to that clunking when it goes into 1st or R from neutral. Thanks for the video.
What was the small torque wrench that you used.. And how high does the wrench go? Most 1/4" ones that I see go to 200 in lbs, and I need 21 ft lbs which would be 252 inch lbs for the sump drain plug.
Did my wife's 3K mile service on her 2018 F3 last night ...oil change/filter change, spec check, etc. - used Baja Ron's kit and AMSOIL, too :0) Quick question - where did you get the wheel ramps?...me likey very much
All of the body work will be same on the 2013 but the 998 and 5 speed transmission do not use the same filters. The service interval for the 998 is every 4500 miles as opposed to 9000 for the 1330.
Question, did you use BUDS to disable having to hit the mode button on startup or do you know a trick that you want to share with us on how you started it without having to hit mode button?
sammie lynch I had my ECU flashed and one of the options is to be able to start it as soon as the key is turned on. The mode screen still comes on and I still have to hit the mod button to get past the startup screen. Very observant of you. 😀 Thanks for watching
The XPS oil says it is synthetic blend but they don’t advertise what percentage the blend is. I use full synthetic in all of my vehicles and just want to do the Same in my Spyder. I get my filter and o rings from Baja Ron. This is just my preference. The XPS kit does come with enough oil, you have to make sure you’re not overfilling it by following the procedure when checking the oil.
Hey Chris, I have a question about oil change of electric trans. I own the same 2014 Can Am as yours. Lady friend of mine liked it so much she bought a used one from a dealer in MN. It was a trade in, in very nice shape. Bike has 47,000 miles on it. Dealer put new tires on it, new belt, changed oil and filter and fixed leaking air valve in suspension. Runs and drives great! I'm getting ready to change oil and filter in engine and trans on mine (29,000) miles and on hers, there is no way of knowing if Hers was ever changed! There is not 300 miles on her dealer oil change, so I'm wondering if I can just drop the oil on trans side, then just add the right amount back to engine side??, or will all the oil just run out since it serves both engine and trans?? Hoping to maybe save some of the $75 cost of oil. Thanks, James
@@jamesmickley4381 the engine and transmission share the same oil so you really need to drain all of it. The two plugs, engine and transmission, are just the two low points.
Don't know if you are still respond ing to this or not, but wondering if any update on the oil switch to Amsoil. Also, wanted your opinion on big blue lift. I don't do as much maintenance as you but wondering if you ever considered one? Thanks

Michael Holt, if it is in neutral with the park brake on, you don’t have to push the brake.
