Diana flew in on a helicopter to sing this grand finale song, but she claimed to be ill and made the mistake to ask for help and Patti blew her off the stage and even El DeBarge got a few good licks in. Earlier Patti sang an amazing duet with Joe Crocker and a Gospel Choir. Her performances on show were so extraordinary she received an Emmy nomination, which she should have one.
Patti gonna use her God given talent and gift. She puts her all in every performance. The longevity is unreal. The duet with Jennifer Hudson on her show this year was magic. Patti at 79. Legend.

Great reaction. You should react to the whole show. It was Motown Returns to the Apollo 1985. Many legends are in attendance. The whole show is a musical historical document. I believe you’ve reacted to at least two other performances from the show. Patti/Never Walk Alone. And Patti/Joe Cocker. A lot of history, conflict and genius on that stage.

welll she was actually on tour in Europe and Berry Gordy asked her to come to the show and close the program, which she did and was back onstage in Germany the next night so you are hearing Diana kinda tired and hoarse
If you knew the back story of the rivalry between these two superstars you would find this even more impressive. When Florence Ballard was kicked out of the Supremes, she was replaced by Cindy Birdsong, who was a member of Patti Labelle and the Bluebirds.

Diana's voice is breathy, to be sure. Although you may not know her solo songs, you could probably name some of her hits from the Supremes. I think that this was a Diana Ross tribute concert, which makes it even more hilarious how Patti showed her up.

In order to have a rivalry there has to be two ppl or more involved ms Labelle was in her feelings based on a decision her group member made and rumors third party ppl told her.. there's no competition 2 brilliant beautiful women in a industry for 60yrs.. no drama

Diana has 12 number 1 hits u have heard her voice , songs voice , Diana has a classic soprano where she just sings no extra! Her and Patti had beef before this and after I think for a while!
