That car is worth money because of people like me, so you’re welcome. I’ve totaled over 300 Yugos through the mid 90’s. I used to jump a Yugo into a pile of Yugos at monster truck shows and dirt track events back in the 90’s. When those started getting harder to find, I went to an even worse car, the Dodge Colt. I took out about 200 of those as well. The Colt was far less reliable and you only had about a 30% chance that the good one would start for the jump.
Stupid fact on why the Pinto was given so many lies about why it caught fire. There was 1 event where the car exploded and damaged about 30 other vehicles. You could have blamed it on the car or more realistically blamed it on the fact that some gas station owner thought it was a good idea to sell gas for $0.07 a gallon because he got a great deal on gas because of someone fucking up the paperwork and a bunch of people used their Pintos to drive there because the Pinto had great space inside of them to be able to place a bunch of containers and well it was well seen by one of the survivors that said they saw the guy smoking and he put his cigarette out inside of a giant punch bowl filled with gasoline and the gun had nearly 300 gallons of gas inside the car and inside containers strapped to the roof and gasoline is very flammable especially when you have a shit ton of gasoline and you are smoking cigarettes and you put one cigarette out by plunging it into the gasoline. That car went up in flames like a fucking bomb because it was turned into a bomb because of gasoline and not the car. Stupidity of the drivers is why the car gets a bad rap while the car itself was not bad at all and in fact there are people who still drive them and several companies who still use their original Pintos for their businesses. There are over 500 vehicles with over 100,000,000 miles on there speedometers and they are all Pintos with 1 having been used constantly with nearly 0 maintenance and has traveled over 15 billion miles for its company as the main work vehicle and instead of flying their employees still drive that 1 vehicle because it does not die and needs nearly no maintenance and when it needs maintenance its new brakes and new tires and gas and oil changes and 7 times its had its spark plugs replaced in the last almost 70 years. Yea the thing has had no real maintenance because it does not die ever and is a really really good vehicle. Aside from dumbasses driving with open gas containers and missing the ash tray and plunging their cigarettes into gasoline there is no safety issues at all.
Well technically when you are driving you are not at home and technically kids should not be driving in the first place because they are too young to be allowed to drive so in reality you should have said "Middle age teenagers and adults do not do that on the road.".
He deserves what he has, when you watch him do his stuff.... well he told his kids, put your nose to the grind stone. The hours of continuous practice he has to do, to perform his characters like he does.. His timing on changing voices as quickly as he does would take tremendous hours of practice. So cool in his performances..

The engine displacement was increased to 1.3 liters, and the carb induction system was replaced with a direct multi point Bosch fuel injection system. The transaxle was also changed to a 5 speed. We bought it for $4100, and drove it over 150,000 miles before some electrical gremlins sent it to a friend as a parts car. The only issues we had were the window cranks broke several different times, the shift linkage separated once, and the fuel pump went out 3 three times--twice under warranty. The fuel mileage, while driving over a mountain pass back and forth to work, averaged 45 MPG. Hard to argue with that, even today. Probably the best part, is that it was INVISIBLE to cops. There were several times I was bombing down the interstate at extra-legal speeds when a State Patrol going the other way flipped a U-turn and fell in behind me. Letting off on the gas and coasting down to legal speed, I could see the cop in the mirror double checking his radar, looking at the car, shaking his head, and turning off. Good times.

@@midnightelectric1 there are more jokes for yugo like: My electronics on yugo got broken. Than other guy asks: what electronics ? How to tripple value of yugo ? Fill in gas tank and buy new front tires. I guess you now know how to multiply value of yugo by 4 times. This is good one: In Japan, car manufacturers had sealant check: they put cat inside car, turn off air conditioning, close all doors and leave car for whole night. If in morning cat inside car is dead - that means car is sealed well, if cat is still alive than car is leaking air. For yugo we had lower standard: they put cat inside car, turn off air conditioning, close all doors and leave it for night. In morning if cat is insde car, than car is sealed well. If cat is gone, than car is not sealed well.
Jeff Dunham's latest adventure with the "worst car ever" is an absolute rollercoaster of emotions! 🚗😄 Love it or hate it, you can't deny the sheer audacity and humor in his decision. As a comedian and car collector, Jeff's ability to turn even the most questionable vehicle into a laugh-inducing spectacle is truly something to admire.
Sometimes you have to wonder how he gets away with some of his material. Like Ahmed the dead terrorist in Saudi Arabia. Having seen it on tv I couldn't believe just how well he went down.
Oh man, Jeff, thank you for the throwback to the past. This was our first car, my mother bought it in 1990 when I was 11 and it was awsome, never mind the pople saying it is the worst car ever... It had all that it needed to have at that time. That tool kit was quality piece and it will not brake even with a hammer, not as this new poor excuse of the tools. I broke a renault made one yesterday trying to unwind a lug nut... wish I still had that one :) The only problem was that it is tall and 14" wheels are not wide enougth so the curves are a bit risky to take driving above 70km/h but once you are used to it will come naturally... there are still nice looking pieces here in Yugoslavia but thank you for this video.
I filled one up years ago at my college gas-station job. STG when I put the nozzle into the gas tank, the whole left rear fender buckled in. Fortunately(?) It popped back out again afterwards, but I kept thinking "WTF!?" It was then that I labeled it the "Why-go."
We had a young lady in our town who had a Yugo. She pushed it wherever she wanted to go. I never saw her in the driver's seat. She was forever pushing it.
@@onemercilessming1342 oh i did my fair share of pushing one too. Thing was the top model had a few more HPs paired with a 5 speed, it was a quick little car with great gas mileage for what they were.
Thank you! I spent more time invested in Yugo in this video than I have in my life. I'm 51. My perspective on Yugo has definitely been changed and I have to say it... It's not that bad.
I had a Yugo when I was a teenager. I took that thing everywhere, one of my best memories in the yugo, was up on some logging roads when I came across two full size trucks (lifted) sitting on both sides of a downed tree across the road. I drove right down into the ditch and under the tree and out the other side. Stopped on the other side of the tree and we all had a good laugh. Only thing I ever did to that car was change oil every 3000 miles. It wasnt that bad but man it was hard to keep a girlfriend once they saw the car :)
My dad is a retired mechanic and is almost 72 and is from Yugoslavia. I bought him an 88 Yugo as a gift back in February and he loves it. The car is almost identical to the one in the video including the exterior and interior colors. But ours came with dealer installed air conditioning. We spend weekends tinkering with it and fixing minor stuff. The number one reason that so many Yugos were junked was because of timing belt failure. The replacement interval is very short (60k miles) and the belt would snap and the internals would crash. The car would be towed to the mechanic and the repair estimates were often close to being more than the value of the vehicle. Zastava Motors built over 800,000 Yugos and sold them worldwide. In America the parts were hard to find because most people didn’t realize that the car is basically a Fiat (127,128,x19) so therefore most Fiat parts can be installed on a Yugo. Also Jeff, I noticed your black/red rub strips need replacing. I have a set I can sell you if you’re interested. Enjoy it!
My younger sister bought one back in '88 or so... drove it for years! I DO remember that the original tires were so bad (cheap/poor quality) that she got a flat from pine needles! OK, spruce needles - but they were sharp enough that they would pierce the tires. Even at that, she got over 90,000 miles out of her Yugo! The problem was getting replacement parts! Even something as simple as an alternator or exhaust parts -- rust is a big killer here in the Great Lakes area! Also, a co-worker had one, and he drove his over 140,000 miles! Again, the lack of parts availability was it's demise - couldn't even get replacement brake pads!
I worked at a Yugo dealership and we had one that came in every 2-3 weeks for an oil change. It had over 150,000 miles on it and only a driver's seat. It was used by a local parts store as a parts runner. If I remember correctly it went through 2-3 clutches.
Jeff. I have seen you perform on stage many times, you're great! It's nice to see you share some small part of your personal life with us fans. Thank you. God Bless!
A friend of mine in highschool had one of these, it was all he could afford and he was like, why spend money on a used car when I can get a brand new one for the same money. It could barley get up the hill to the school. Lol
Jeff owns all the cars I’ve ever wanted, a Pinto cruising wagon and the matching econoline van, a Bricklin and now a Yugo. All of these are for the same reason, they are different and cool. The Bricklin will always be at the top of the list.
I had a Vega in high school that my dad got me when I got my license. It didn't have the original motor in it because someone dropped a 283 c.i. small block into it. It was a complete sleeper because it fit under the stock hood
This is what I like about Jeff's collection, he gets the eclectic cars like this... Things you just don't see anymore because they became unpopular or were just considered throw away cars.
As a young enlisted military couple (serving in the U.K.), my husband and I had a Yugo. I didn’t know how to drive a stick-shift, so I pushed it while he started it. I did this while pregnant with twins. Not a fond memory. 👎🏼🚗🌧️
I would have it repainted to a flashier color. That Yugo has the same shape as the 1980 VW diesel Rabbit DH&I had. It had the smallest H-shaped stick shift configuration I had ever driven, ever. Even smaller than the MG midget MiddleDD’s boyfriend let me drive back in 1998. I need to borrow one of my sons-in-law’s vehicle to freshen up my stick-shift-using abilities.
Hello. i hope your day will be filled with beautiful moments and positive energy. Remember, you have the power to make this day amazing. I'm Edwin from Charlotte, it's a pleasure to meet you here, you are magnificent my darling. Please, where are you from?
I actually felt kind of sorry for the truck hauling the RV that they got in front of. That had to hurt. That person probably pulled off the next exit, and called their therapist.
It’s nice to ❤see a star like Jeff Dunham who brings in his car to a fancy shop like that and they still didn’t listen to what he wanted. See it doesn’t matter how much money you have people still don’t listen. I would never bring my car there.
I'm not even a car person and that was fun to watch! Just curious if you would be able to get replacement parts for it if needed? Would it be difficult, or would you say, " it's not that bad"? 😂
The biggest issue I heard of with them at the time wasn't so much that they were bad, it was more that there wasn't any real parts support. One friend of mine had one and when he needed parts it was difficult to source them. The story he was given a few times was that Zastava had basically used up the parts supply and the company that made that part was now on the UN banned list so no new parts could be imported. The other issue was that they still ran a carb and in 90 they failed the emissions testing and had to recall most of their cars.
If you knew where to go there were parts. When they stopped selling the cars a dealer in Henderson Nevada bought the parts supply from Yugo dealers all over the country. He had parts for years to sell.
Failed emission test is so overated and pushed by some people. Nowdays you have 4 litter engine cars and pick-ups that WILL CERTAINLY fail on same emission tests, but tests are abandoned...
In the truck hauling the 5th wheel, the wife turns to the husband: “You just got passed by a Yugo” Husband: “We will never speak of this again .” Wife: (typing frantically on her phone) 😂😂😂😂
Yugo in good shape can go up to 90 mph. Truck with alignment problem (which is not rare) can't go 90 mph unless whole truck is shaking... So, there is formula how is it possible to get passed by yugo in truck
Jeff, I am beside myself. Amazing. My parents are from ex-Yugoslavia. I did get to drive one in Yugoslavia in late 80's...and owned a 1977 Datsun B210. You are spot on. As basic transportation it did the job. You wont race anything, for sure. Take good care of her.... :)
I spent a month working at the nuclear power plant in Krsko, Slovenia 40 years ago this month. We stayed at the Hotel Intercontinental in Zagreb. I'm Slovak/Ukrainian and they treated me like the Prodigal Son. What happened after I left was sad. They hoped that the upcoming Olympics in Sarajevo would show the world that the country wasn't a backwater...a few years later Savatage would write "Christmas Eve (Sarajevo)", a song that never fails to bring tears for the lives wasted.
yep. I owned a VW Transporter manual and the gear selector was more like a random event generator. Finding reverse gear was always the fun part of the day
My husband and I always thought that the hate for the Yugo was entirely undeserved. They WERE underpriced, and QUITE hard to find parts for, probably due to their unpopularity. But they really WERN'T that bad.
People never bought into the concept The car was made to replace. Most people would buy the car have it for a few years and be ready for a new one. Price was low so you could keep current when you replaced it.
@@carleneparker5841 We saw it more as an alternative to buying a used car for people who couldn't AFFORD a more expensive new car. The problem WE saw with it was that it was more expensive than most used cars of comparable quality, so a used Bug, Pinto or Gremlin made more sense.
When you pulled into the parking lot. You should have had Bubba J in the passenger seat. Or in the drivers seat when you parked it. Unless you really wanted to go for it. Then wear a Bubba J costume when you were driving it. Playing the music when you introduce him on the radio.
I had one back then and all I can say is that this car begged to be driven and the harder you drove it that better it was. The only real problem I had with it was it loved to go through rotor buttons. Most young people today are like rotor what???? 😂
I still keep a dollar bill folded up in a bag in my toolbox. For cleaning points. Do I have a car with points anymore? Nope. Just force of habit for 35 years 😂
Sweeeeeettttttt!!!! Oh man, thanks for sharing this with us. Brings back some memories! I owned a ton of oddball cars 🚗 in my sixty some years, this was not one of them. So happy for you Jeff. So glad you can experience and appreciate such things. Much love to you and the family.
I once rebuilt a carburetor and did some other tweaking on a customers yugo. About an hour after the customer picking up their car, they returned to my shop saying they just received a speeding ticket for going 82 in a 55 mph zone. They were so excited by the ticket that you would have thought they won the lottery. He said he bought the car new and was lucky to get it up to 65. This was the fastest his car had ever gone. He claimed it would have gone even faster if it wasn't for the pesky state cop that stopped him. 😆
Great video!! My husband and I had a blue Yugo back in the day. We finally got rid of it as it kept blowing out the speedometer cable. It was in the shop more than we had it home. Thanks for sharing this memory with me.
That's just WOW. It looks amazing for a vehicle that is from so far back in the 80s and still in such great condition is really bad ass. It makes for a good classic.
@@TheSleepingonit Many people in the US also restore antique and classic vehicles and barn finds as well, which is very nice to see such vehicles being preserved.
There was an old joke about Yugo. I stopped by the auto salvage yard and asked the guy at the desk, Have you got a rear view mirror for a 1988 Yugo? The guy nods and says Yes that sounds like a pretty fair trade. LOL The cars you were describing were like early nineties cars. We called those automatic shoulder belts "Rat Runners". On the bright side, Nobody will ever steal your Yugo to run from Police.
When they went out of business, the dealer in my area had a bunch of them and marked them down to 1/2 price I considered buying 2 of them and keep one for parts 😊
They apparently were quite reliably if you didn't treat them like a disposable rustbox. Also you could legally drive Yugos on public roads in the US when new, some other eastern bloc cars need the 25 year exemption.
Im from Croatia, few Yugo's that are left here are still so secure and safe cars more then some newer ones. With Beetle 1200J best car for low price was Yugo from mid 70's till 87 no one made car as affordable yet safe and dependable as Yugo.
I went in to " test drive " one of these in 87' when I was checking it out ( before driving it ) and found the turn signal lever to be about as firm as a piece of spaghetti, I was like " yeah, this ain't gonna happen ". 😅
Jeff, THIS IS REALLY GREAT, THANK YOU!! Thank you for saving a small part of history. A little carburetorated 1.1L Fiat derived 4 cyl. The big engine was a 1.3...which made a big difference. The low cost killed it. People joked and asked, how can it be any good at $3900 ???...and assumed it must be junk. It was not, it was an Eastern European, 1960s car trying to make it 25 years later in the USA.
Thanks Jeff for this video. My late stepbrother owned a used car lot in Tucson and purchased a 1988 Yugo at the car auction in Phoenix, Arizona with 35,000 miles on it. The car broke down about 80 miles from the auction and he had to tow back to his lot. Nobody would buy it and he scraped it after two years. You mentioned Ford Pinto’s he sold allot of those with few returns. The. Pacer he refused to buy because they weren’t good …”his words. He even bought a Deloreean and lost his shirt in repairs before it sold. Have a nice day.
The blue Prius is what he should be driving and he knows why! He has one and he has been complaining about it forever ♾️ and he knows it and so does his Walter. 😂🎉
WOW!!! Jeff, TRUE STORY: In 1992, I bought this EXACT BODY STYLE YUGO AND COLOR from a friend, for $100. I was a Sophomore in High School. ('I'm not sure of the exact year, but I believe it was a 1982). My friends were in "VO-TECH" in High School (Vocational School, so you can learn a trade, Brick/Block Laying, Carpentry, Auto Mechanics, Auto Body, etc). They said, "Let us take your car in, and we're do all the mechanical, and body work. The teacher will help us, it will come out perfect, and we'll have a project". I'm like "SOUNDS GOOD". LONG STORY SHORT. They had it in the Auto Mechanic Garage in the School, on the Hydraulic Lift. AND,... FOR GOD ONLY KNOWS WHAT REASON,.... THEY WOULD PUT THIS INTO A SCHOOL FOR HIGH SCHOOL KIDS,.. the Hydraulic Lift had an 'Independent Piston Option". So they use to play a "game", to see who had the "guff" to keep tilting the vehicle on the lift. NEEDLES TO SAY,... my 82' Yugo, became a PANCAKE!!! They flipped it off the lift, onto the roof!!! I only got to drive it ONE TIME for like 2 MILES!!!!!
When I was running a tuneup shop, a customer was trying to convince me that their Yugo was race prepped because it was based on a Fiat 124 (?). "Oh, it's head is ported, engine is blueprinted..." I wonder how many are left, I'm stunned you found one and it operates.
More like the 127. 124 is front engine, rear drive. 127 is front engine, front drive. The X1/9 just moved the drive train from the front of the 128 to behind the seats. Engines in 127 and 128 were almost identical.
I was a little surprised at the end when you took the spare tire out and there was what looked like cracked paint and rust underneath it. Were you surprised too, or didn't you want them to stop the rust there?
Nope, that's not rust, every single Yugo ever looks like that under the spare wheel, Zastava factory used some weird kind of thick rust protection, it's better left as it is. How do I know? I have a Yugo.
If Mr. Bean's car was a Transformer, it would've been an Autobot and it's first model mode it chose would've been a Yugo and then upgrade to a Green 1977 Leyland Cars Mini 1000 Mark IV
Jeff, this video reminded me of a 24 foot home built house boat a friend of mine built. He trailered all over North America. He related a story about docking in a marina on Lake Mead next to multi million dollar house boats and his "Run Aground Sue" was the star of the show. It was the Yugo of house boats. Thanks for the video.
I really liked the one we had in 88. Just had a hard time finding parts. This is and was a fabulous vehicle. One of the most fun roomiest car I had for a man over 6.5 300lbs at that time. I gave my wife my Oldsmobile and I took her yugo because my travel to work was a 60-mile commute. I would often say you had a $10,000 vehicle at the seats that wouldn't recline, I have a $3,500 and I can stretch out in my recliner car seats.i could fill up for $6.00.
This is the car I learned to drive stick ! First gear was under my right knee !!! Not a lot of room in those for a person that is 6' 6". Made a living working on those pieces of crap at the dealership back in the early 90's. When you first uncovered it my jaw dropped to the floor
Years ago I was in an independent repair shop that did work for a major dealership. They sent us a Lada sedan for pre delivery check. It's the first time I've seen a dealership phone the buyer to tell them the sale is terminated. Yeah it was that bad and expensive to fix.
A buddy had one of these. His concept of large and small cars changed with it. He considered my early 90s Accord a full size car. He eventually rear ended another car with his Yugo which totaled the car and put him out of work for a couple of months. He bought a bigger car after that experience. I warned him.
When I was in my 20's, I bought a second hand 1978 AMC Matador. Everyone stopped to check it out when I was parked. I had a friend who had a General Lee in a car show. The moment I parked to check out his car I was surrounded. I never knew how many people were surprised to see my car. Best feeling ever.
I dated a girl that got a Yugo for graduation. She hated it, we tried to destroy it without wrecking it. It surprised us how well it held up. The river crossing did the job.
I"ll stick with my 1993 Full size chevy truck, it has over 450,000 miles on it, still going strong and has never messed up on me yet. Changed oil every 3,000 miles, had a certified Mechanic check everything and he couldn't believe how great of shape the truck and motor was in. Again, I'll stay with my Chevy.

Thank you now I know why Chevys had rear defrost also. 😂😂
Jeff Dunham is an absolute legend 😎🤟🏻
Your a legend sam
The four door Yugo was called the Wego.🤪

I filled one up years ago at my college gas-station job. STG when I put the nozzle into the gas tank, the whole left rear fender buckled in. Fortunately(?) It popped back out again afterwards, but I kept thinking "WTF!?"
It was then that I labeled it the "Why-go."
Oh, GOD, that beginning buildup!!

Jeff, you really got me!
As my mom used to say when we had ours, "if it goes, Yugo". Man that was a fun little car. Miss mine all the time, when it ran.....
A Subaru Justy might very well compete with a yugo. It has a 3 cylinder engine with zero power lol
We had a young lady in our town who had a Yugo. She pushed it wherever she wanted to go. I never saw her in the driver's seat. She was forever pushing it.

I think that Jeff should drive that Yugo over to Jay Leno’s garage (while recording) and to get Jay’s reaction to seeing him.
YESSSS!!!! Heh heh yes!
I'm curious what car Jay would pull out to one-up him.
@@Torrath7411 Probably a Fiat Panda.
Jay's reaction.
That would be awesome
Thank you! I spent more time invested in Yugo in this video than I have in my life. I'm 51. My perspective on Yugo has definitely been changed and I have to say it... It's not that bad.
Jeff continues to do what no one ever thought of, and gets praise for it!
And, as he should and, well deserved!
A fellow walks into a Gas station: "How about a gas cap for my Yugo?"
The attendant: "Sounds like a fair trade to me!"
OMG I forgot about the Yugo! 😜 I LOVE IT!!!
Hello 👋 MICHELLE
May goodness and happiness surround you all the time, and may sadness never locate you. Which state are you if I may ask??
Enjoy it!
Timing belts were BELTS. Very breakable
Always was fun to drive around in a Yugo with my late cousin by the sea at the kupalište Hidrobaza in Pula.
Cool story

I would have loved to have seen the look on that truck driver's face when you passed him on the expressway.😊😂😅
From "Yugo, it's not that bad.", to "Yugo, it's even better!" Question: Did the detail cost more than the original cost of the car?
That's a great question. 😝
Fill it up with gas, double its value!!
@@ksavage681 buy new front tires and fill up gas tank to tripple value of car...
You guess how to multiply value by 4 times ? XD
Jeff, you need a sticker on the back glass, " better than walking" for all the haters😂
I worked at a Yugo dealership and we had one that came in every 2-3 weeks for an oil change. It had over 150,000 miles on it and only a driver's seat. It was used by a local parts store as a parts runner. If I remember correctly it went through 2-3 clutches.
I think Jose Jalapeno should sell these. "Senor, it's not that bad....on a steek!"

Jeff owns all the cars I’ve ever wanted, a Pinto cruising wagon and the matching econoline van, a Bricklin and now a Yugo. All of these are for the same reason, they are different and cool. The Bricklin will always be at the top of the list.
Busted! Your on-ramp test was a downhill on-ramp. 😁
I "drove" a Yugo in the 80s and it made my Chevy Vega Seem like a high-performance quality car.
I had a couple of Vegas in the early, mid 80's 😂 Stop at the gas station to fill up the oil and check the gas 🤣
I had a Vega in high school that my dad got me when I got my license. It didn't have the original motor in it because someone dropped a 283 c.i. small block into it. It was a complete sleeper because it fit under the stock hood
There wad a sitcom called The Facts Of Life. One of the characters talked about the Vega. She said it was the car that rusted in the driveway.

As a young enlisted military couple (serving in the U.K.), my husband and I had a Yugo. I didn’t know how to drive a stick-shift, so I pushed it while he started it. I did this while pregnant with twins. Not a fond memory. 👎🏼🚗🌧️
I have to ask. Did you have to put car seats in it when your twins were born? 😂 I could not imagine having to put babies in car seats in a Yugo.
such an american thing to say. "can't drive a stick shift"

I'm not even a car person and that was fun to watch! Just curious if you would be able to get replacement parts for it if needed? Would it be difficult, or would you say, " it's not that bad"? 😂
You can get almost all the parts at Advance auto,Autozone, etc. Engine is just a Fiat 1.1L in the GVs and the big 1.3L in the Sport model GVX.
That was cool to watch, I’m will to say it’ll be the only 1 at the car show and probably the only 1 in the state
My first car was a Yugo... it was literally stapled together!! 😅😂
Hey 👋 SHERRY
May goodness and happiness surround you all the time, and may sadness never locate you. Which state are you if I may ask??
Also the war was happening in Yugoslavia in the 80's that also made parts difficult to get.
Yea,Didn't help that the UN blew up the Yugo plant in a bombing run. They produced rifles there too.
Failed emission test is so overated and pushed by some people. Nowdays you have 4 litter engine cars and pick-ups that WILL CERTAINLY fail on same emission tests, but tests are abandoned...
that why you needed two one for parts lol
So cool! Thank you Jeff for sharing ❤👍😊

Husband: “We will never speak of this again .”
Wife: (typing frantically on her phone) 😂😂😂😂
Yugo in good shape can go up to 90 mph. Truck with alignment problem (which is not rare) can't go 90 mph unless whole truck is shaking...
So, there is formula how is it possible to get passed by yugo in truck
What a FUN episode!
*beep beep*
People never bought into the concept
The car was made to replace.
Mechanicals were mostly Fiat copy.
For quite a while it was on the list of most stolen cars... because it was easier to steal one that trying to source parts for your broken one.
When you pulled into the parking lot. You should have had Bubba J in the passenger seat. Or in the drivers seat when you parked it. Unless you really wanted to go for it. Then wear a Bubba J costume when you were driving it. Playing the music when you introduce him on the radio.
My mom had a Yugo and I loved riding in it even though people picked on me
I had one back then and all I can say is that this car begged to be driven and the harder you drove it that better it was. The only real problem I had with it was it loved to go through rotor buttons. Most young people today are like rotor what???? 😂
Yep for what it was it kinda kicked ass!
I still keep a dollar bill folded up in a bag in my toolbox. For cleaning points. Do I have a car with points anymore? Nope. Just force of habit for 35 years 😂

Had a friend swore by them. He had two of them. He said you had to follow the maintainence schedule.
As a mechanic in training in 1994 to 1996 I only worked on one teachers Yugo and the biggest issue was getting parts.
Jeff: "I want you to drive this thing." Translation " I would not be caught dead driving a Yugo.."
Great video!! My husband and I had a blue Yugo back in the day. We finally got rid of it as it kept blowing out the speedometer cable. It was in the shop more than we had it home. Thanks for sharing this memory with me.

Jeff, THIS IS REALLY GREAT, THANK YOU!! Thank you for saving a small part of history. A little carburetorated 1.1L Fiat derived 4 cyl. The big engine was a 1.3...which made a big difference.
"Oh, it's head is ported, engine is blueprinted..."
I wonder how many are left, I'm stunned you found one and it operates.
More like the 127. 124 is front engine, rear drive. 127 is front engine, front drive. The X1/9 just moved the drive train from the front of the 128 to behind the seats. Engines in 127 and 128 were almost identical.
Yugos weren’t built to be repaired I had the hood cable broke and couldn’t be replaced
I was a little surprised at the end when you took the spare tire out and there was what looked like cracked paint and rust underneath it. Were you surprised too, or didn't you want them to stop the rust there?
GREAT DETAIL SHOP…… until you took out the Spare Tire, everything was rusted ???
😂 "It's not that bad!" really is the best Yugo slogan
I really liked the one we had in 88. Just had a hard time finding parts. This is and was a fabulous vehicle. One of the most fun roomiest car I had for a man over 6.5 300lbs at that time. I gave my wife my Oldsmobile and I took her yugo because my travel to work was a 60-mile commute. I would often say you had a $10,000 vehicle at the seats that wouldn't recline, I have a $3,500 and I can stretch out in my recliner car seats.i could fill up for $6.00.
Love this ❤ Yugo Jeff!!
This is the car I learned to drive stick ! First gear was under my right knee !!! Not a lot of room in those for a person that is 6' 6". Made a living working on those pieces of crap at the dealership back in the early 90's. When you first uncovered it my jaw dropped to the floor
7:21 "Watch your Ice cream" Great one
Years ago I was in an independent repair shop that did work for a major dealership.
They sent us a Lada sedan for pre delivery check.
It's the first time I've seen a dealership phone the buyer to tell them the sale is terminated.
Yeah it was that bad and expensive to fix.
Go back to the Prius. Walter and Peanut can have real fun with this. 😂😂😂
Worst car with the absolute best advertising.
A YUGO, IF IT WAS BIGGER, WOULD IT BE A WE GO?
