The day DIDN'T go as planned!!! 46100 Royal Scot & 86101, Settle & Carlisle Rail tour, 25 March '23

- All plans went out of the window, thanks to signal/points failure and OLE problems around Crewe and Weaver Jn/Ditton areas.
46100 was due to take over from 86101 at Crewe, but platforms 7 -12 were out of use. So instead The Scot fooled everyone waiting on the station ,and instead headed back, then underneath, using the avoiding lines.
Quick decisions had to be made, ( I had hoped to also see the ckass 60's on the other railtour as well ), so I jumped on a pendo with seconds to spare and headed to Warringto n Bank Quay, where the loco swap was now to take place.
Final shot is at Hartford on the return with 86101.

Haha, you're right there. Still wasn't certain what was going on, but split second decision, over the bridge and onto the pendo, just in time. Turned out great! Thanks 👍😀

Oh dear Phil, looks like we both had plans ruined by the signals yesterday. I'd planned to see the 86 and Royal Scot at Winsford and then the 60s at Ince & Elton. Ended up getting bowled by a damn Voyager when filming the Scot and then I had to leave before the 86 went past to make it to Ince & Elton in time for the 60s. At least I managed to get a good shot of the 60s even though Ince & Elton was likely the busiest it has ever been, at one point there were probably over 80 people there, a big crowd considering it's now the least used station in Cheshire after Stanlow & Thornton closed
Alot of plans had to be altered. Damn voyagers lol. At least you got a photo at Ince and Elton, I saw how busy it was there.
