I had a great day stewarding the train. It was grand to see so many visitors turn out on what was a cold dismal day yet the positive feedback was encouraging.
Ive spent many times riding up in the cab as a young gricer with the duty driver in 09024 at Hoo junction in the early 80s . Makes me smile. Good to see that shes still got the original whistle and not a replacement horn too.
It's great that all the "small stuff" gets a day in the limelight. Every bit as important for our railway history as the "big stuff" Well done ELR , you are to be applauded. Love the 08 in BR Black 👍
A woderfull day out indeed Phil, a very nicely captured collection of all types of locos, very nice, cheers Steve, Ps time you got some work done LOL 🤣
@@philclarke3203 I got a soft spot for Barclays. ^_^ Have you been to the East Somerset Railway? They have a blue Barclay called 'Lady Nan' that you can drive for £15.
Cracking locos. The brake van ride is a nice touch. Ill have to get up there this year. Not been for a while and the 1940s weekends are always good fun ❤
The green shunter4002 was it at Winfields shoes & camping, it was in the carpark for years, can someone confirm in the comments, 👍👍, great vid by the way..
There are two spelling mistakes in the description, Mister. You can see where they are, so learn to slow down and upload earlier in the day. Dashing for the train, in time to take a ride, Phil and Harry made a tiny oversight. As they hurry home, two robbers plan a heist, But little do they know, Phil left his home turf-iced. Jingle Bells, Phil tricks them every way, Oh what fun it is to see two burglars get flambed.
@AlfieGould-l1j I agree. The worlds already gone to shit. Just enjoy as words are just words (unless you are a believer in the (esoteric) and if was written in Lancy dialect, would a comment have been left?

This looked like a cracking day out. 😀
It was! As good as the bigger galas, and nowhere near the price. The Barclay looked great 😃👍

No, that was sister loco 4001 Alnwick Castle, sadly scrapped about 5 years ago, due to being in a very poor condition
