    AliExpress all the way. My body is not made for aero and most of the stuff locally available is made for skinny Italians, even the 2XL I usually wear. Ali stuff is made for 'comfort' fit and has a much better range of colours and designs and seasonal gear - everything here is basically black. I can get five maillot for less than the cost of a local one made of the same material. And when I crash it's not a major insurance claim! I'm not a racer so don't need space age material.

    I can see the appeal of having one of these kits for a race or a group ride but that's about it. The difference between my 90€ dhb bibs and my 240€ lecol bibs is negligible. Sure, the later ones are a bit more comfy, a bit more aero and a bit nicer looking but having multiple of them is simply not economically viable for me.

    • @CharlesOuimet
      @CharlesOuimet  3 года назад

      Totally agree with that man! Most 90$ bibs will get the job done and the most expensive ones offers marignals improvments!

    I feel like when we talk about cycling clothes we need to acknowledge that a lot of times we pay for the brand and what we perceive as the "advantages" is pretty common on cycling apparel when we reach a certain level.

    • @cokebottles6919
      @cokebottles6919 3 года назад

      Depends. Rapha and several other brands have some kit at a value I haven't seen surpassed for less. It's not strictly style and the brand, although that's what first draws us in. My Rapha Core Jersey is extremely comfortable and has lasted me well over a year of heavy use. I have 3 alibaba type jersey's (ordered at the same time) and they're stiff, fit poorly, and the seams have come undone after only a few uses. As for rapha's more expensive pro line, yeah, super expensive, but I haven't see the quality and fit for (much) less anyplace else. I also have some less expensive jersey's by specialized and some from REI way back when. The Rapha core blows them out of the water for around $20 more.

Sized down to small with my PMCC bib. Fits snug but a little long on the leg probably because I have a long torso but short legs/inseam. No fuss tho. I bought some thing there which didn’t fit right at all and they would not let me exchange it for a different size. I eventually got a refund from my credit card company but it was a major hassle. I would not recommend paddle mafia to anyone who is serious about having good cycling kit.
    Better off buying from a more reputable company that makes quality materials. Sure you may have to pay more but it will be worth it in the end.
