The quest for exomoons moons orbiting planets outside our solar system represents a thrilling frontier in the search for extraterrestrial life and understanding planetary systems beyond our own. While thousands of exoplanets have been discovered, finding their moons remains a challenge due to their smaller size and the subtle effects they have on the light from their host stars. Yet, exomoons could offer critical insights into the formation of planetary systems and even present environments that might harbor life, potentially acting as "miniature worlds" with unique atmospheres and conditions. The detection of exomoons could transform our understanding of how planetary systems form and evolve, but what advancements in telescope technology or detection methods will be key to uncovering these elusive objects? And how might the discovery of an Earth-like exomoon impact our search for habitable environments beyond our solar system?

As frequencies of Atomic Clocks have gotten down to 1×10^-24. Or a Septillionth of a Second. We're able to measure smaller things more accurately. Like Microarcseconds. Or now, Nanoarcseconds on the sky.

What was it? 51 Pegasi b. First Radial Velocity, Hot Jupiter detection in 1995. I remember Astronomers not accepting the Hot Jupiter Idea. Or the terrestrial planets closely orbiting a Neutron Star Idea. It really took more Hot Jupiter Detections for full acceptance.

  • @zapfanzapfan

I wonder if that possible Neptune sized moon was another planet altogether that orbits the same star and just happened to transit around the same time?

  • @CaliforniaBushman
