I don’t like comparing either of the Avatar series because frankly they were about completely separate things. Atla was about a kid learning to be and avatar and tlok was more about the avatar learning to be a kid (not like literally it’s more about Korra realizing that being the avatar isn’t EVERYTHING. 12 year old Aang was so much wiser and mature than Korra. And Aang always took into account what was best for others. He helped everyone he came in contact with, even his enemies. He had the personality of an avatar. Korra didn’t have the same empathetic mentality. It’s almost like she helped people out of obligation, and not true concern.

Fire bending were either driven by hate or had to be well trained. That was explained in ATLA. Also the avatars needed to travel the world as adults or kids to learn the elements. If that’s not the case then what was the point of toph, pakku, katara, jeong jeong, or zuko teaching Aang. It’s clearly not because she is better because Aang learned the elements super quick. He was better then katara at the beginning, it only took a couple days to learn from toph, and jeong jeong taught him well the problem is that aang decided to never firebend again. Also if she was so gifted then why she didn’t learn to airbend as toddler? Was it because airbending was more difficult? Was it because airbending is harder for her because she is primarily a water bender? The show says that she has the heart of a fire bender, the endurance of an earthbender, and that she is versatile and resourceful as a waterbender. But her airbending is locked because 1. She is not spiritual enough, 2. She neither has the attitude or personality of an airbender. So it doesn’t make sense for her to suddenly learn how to airbend just because Amon blocked her other elements. Air bending is the most spiritual element. And she is known to not be very spiritual. She was never able to meditate and even tho she did meditate when she was taking prison that still doesn’t explain why suddenly she is able to airbend.

Defeating does not mean killing. Korra defeated Amon by exposing his lies. Korra was kicking UnaVaatu's butt. It was only when she tried to get Raava back that UnaVaatu could push back. The airbenders were a result of Korra's hustle and sacrifice to get the air nation back. It was a direct result of her work. If she did not all that, she would not even be in that cave. Korra defeated the Red Lotus by having helped so many people who then fought for her. Korra was dominating Kuvira in that fight. She was even holding back. Then Korra had Kuvira in her mercy but instead of ending her, gave her multiple chances to surrender. Then there is Aang who did not completly defeat Zhao, Zuko or Azula. Zhao got himself doomed and Azula was defeated by Katara.

Remember, he was still a 12 years old in mind and had to deal with the burden of being the avatar and the risk of not having a future if he lost. It was the entire world at stake. Korra had her fair share but dont compare poison to genocide, the weight, isn't the same.
I feel like her trauma should of really started with Amon taking her bending (since all her life she's been the Avatar, she sees herself as nothing else of worth without her bending pretty much), plus having her connection to her past lives cut and the poison on top of it by season 3. I kinda wish the whole trauma thing didn't really "hit her" after the poison nearly killed her by the end of season 3 and going into season 4 because it makes it seem like she has way less trauma than she could actually have. If she could try to hide it but hiding all of it up to that point? Is that even possible?

Fire bending were either driven by hate or had to be well trained. That was explained in ATLA. Also the avatars needed to travel the world as adults or kids to learn the elements. If that’s not the case then what was the point of toph, pakku, katara, jeong jeong, or zuko teaching Aang. It’s clearly not because she is better because Aang learned the elements super quick. He was better then katara at the beginning, it only took a couple days to learn from toph, and jeong jeong taught him well the problem is that aang decided to never firebend again. Also if she was so gifted then why she didn’t learn to airbend as toddler? Was it because airbending was more difficult? Was it because airbending is harder for her because she is primarily a water bender? The show says that she has the heart of a fire bender, the endurance of an earthbender, and that she is versatile and resourceful as a waterbender. But her airbending is locked because 1. She is not spiritual enough, 2. She neither has the attitude or personality of an airbender. So it doesn’t make sense for her to suddenly learn how to airbend just because Amon blocked her other elements. Air bending is the most spiritual element. And she is known to not be very spiritual. She was never able to meditate and even tho she did meditate when she was taking prison that still doesn’t explain why suddenly she is able to airbend.
And let’s not even talk about Season 2 which contradicts everything from ATLA. Everything taught to us by the same writers were just lies.

Korra was kicking UnaVaatu's butt. It was only when she tried to get Raava back that UnaVaatu could push back.
The airbenders were a result of Korra's hustle and sacrifice to get the air nation back. It was a direct result of her work. If she did not all that, she would not even be in that cave. Korra defeated the Red Lotus by having helped so many people who then fought for her.
Korra was dominating Kuvira in that fight. She was even holding back. Then Korra had Kuvira in her mercy but instead of ending her, gave her multiple chances to surrender.
Then there is Aang who did not completly defeat Zhao, Zuko or Azula. Zhao got himself doomed and Azula was defeated by Katara.
It's official Aang is the best Avatar.

I feel like her trauma should of really started with Amon taking her bending (since all her life she's been the Avatar, she sees herself as nothing else of worth without her bending pretty much), plus having her connection to her past lives cut and the poison on top of it by season 3. I kinda wish the whole trauma thing didn't really "hit her" after the poison nearly killed her by the end of season 3 and going into season 4 because it makes it seem like she has way less trauma than she could actually have. If she could try to hide it but hiding all of it up to that point? Is that even possible?
