    Synopsis
    Jeff Chan kills it with 8 drills.
    You have an hour so break it into rounds. I train 3 to 5 minute rounds.
    Here are the rounds/drills
    1) boxing with mma gloves
    2) shoot boxing - boxing and takedowns only
    3) kickboxing with MMA gloves
    4) kickboxing with takedowns - (no ground game just stand up reset)
    5) ground and pound from guard( guard pass - opponent tries to stand up. Point and reset.)
    6) sweeps or submissions from guard
    7) Escape turtle by reguarding, half guard or standup
    8) maintain back control of your partner for the submission
    Great drills, think about all the other ideas it raises from there.
    I would add an everything goes round with the goal of submission from standup position.
    What drill would you guys add?

    IMO one of the best videos so far! As a young man trying to structure his life this video will really help get the most out of my time. You've put out so much great content and I can't wait to see more. Is there any chance you could put up your schedule/mock schedule to give a rough idea of how much work you put in towards MMA/Gym (cardio,strength,etc)/Sleep/Meals? Thanks!

      MMAShredded I love all your videos but this one in particular showed me what to expect in a well rounded MMA training session. I'm currently training Muay Thai as I don't have an MMA gym near me so I can only dream but this video motivates me to be smart with my training and structure myself as you do. Hey Jeff, im curious do you have any reflex drills? You seem like a fighter that hits and doesnt let get hit back, You utilize the long guard and your movement is on point. Do you have any videos on being evasive and reflexes? Thanks for your videos. Me and my lil brother are using your videos to help with our training as our gym closed down. Much love

    • @MMAShredded
      @MMAShredded  6 лет назад +2

      Thanks so much and im happy to hear your using my tips! I do plan on making a full head movement course in the near future, covering drills and my personal ways of being evasive. I am also in the process of making a tactics video on Lerdsilla, the most evasive fighter I've seen so far.

    thx for all the great videos jeff!!, i resently talked with my trainingpartners and my coach about high kicks in mma, they tell me its really risky to do them because i might get caught with takedowns, since i started with muay thai ,most of my standup is bases on my high kicks set up, i would love to know what u think about this, thx again for all ur hard work

    • @MMAShredded
      @MMAShredded  6 лет назад +2

      You will hear people saying body kicks , head kicks AND low kicks is dangerous in MMA because they can all be caught, but do you see body kicks, head kicks and low kicks used by the best fighters in the world? Hell yeah. Anthony Pettis KO's fighters with his body kicks, Jose Aldo TKO's fighters with his low kicks, and then you see TJ Dillashaw KOing fighters with head kicks. It al depends how good you are and how well you set them up. It also depends on who your fighting. If you are fighting a wrestler and BJJ guy, then perhaps you would limit the amount you throw kicks in general.

    • @MMAShredded
      @MMAShredded  6 лет назад +1

      I cheat HAHA. But I am always staying active one way or the other. "Cheating" or eating whatever I want usually helps me with eating more calories when it comes to gaining weightm/muscle. I only try to cut weight when I have a fight, but besides that i rather be bit bigger.

      @@MMAShredded Basically Muay Thai being a high intensity cardio, makes one slimmer. How do I then strike the balance and build bigger muscles and put on more mass from doing weight training at the same time? Or in short, doing Muay Thai is killing my mass and muscle gains.

    • @MMAShredded
      @MMAShredded  6 лет назад +1

      Oh, yes I have the same problem. But depending on the season or occasion, I know what are my priorities. I like being 160 + lbs but I have a fight in Nov and I am cutting to 135. But when I am off season, I will go back to 160 and gain as much strength as possible. I have found weight lifting 3x a week and training martial arts the other 4 days was a good balance for me in terms of staying in good cardio shape while gaining size.

    • @MMAShredded
      @MMAShredded  6 лет назад +2

      Conor Mcgregor uses that a lot, i like it. I too actually use it more often then a jab. I find the jab is more of a set up and it is often parried/blocked. When I throw the corkscrew uppercut I throw it less often but when I throw it i have a higher % of landing it.

    • @MMAShredded
      @MMAShredded  6 лет назад +3

      It could be that your a bit nervous. It all comes with time and experience. The more you drill, the more you will instinctually react when sparring. As for not reacting without thinking, don't think of it as a fight and don't try to win so bad. Its okay if you get hit. Take your time, this is where you practice.
