Hello Richard, wow what a beautiful wave! You have put so much energy into creating it that we can feel its full power and imagine the noise it will make when it crashes into the sand. I love this reflection of the sky at the top of the wave which gives it even more consistency. Bravo for all this beauty that you still offer us today. Be well and see you soon.

Hi Richard! I do love your ocean paintings and I keep being amazed of how you capture the fresh, raw energy of it! You keep it alive, breathing and exciting, the salt hanging in the air! Makes me want to run to my easel! :)

👋Good day, Richard, nice seeing you again. Hope, you're fine. - Another painting of yours to be admired. Wonderful. Noone can say that it lacks movement. That wave came out beautifully ! It's powerful and energetic, one can tell from looking at those huge foamy splashes. I love the colors, especially the green and turquoise, and I like water painted in greenish tones anyways. The sky color looks fantastic, and those pastel hues in the direct foreground, describing the large rocks and some of the sandy shore underwater, also. You have captured the depth all the way to the atmospheric horizon and gifted us with an excellent work of art, again. Thank you so much my friend, I enjoyed watching the creation process and being able to look at the finished work at the end. - Stay healthy, Richard, and have a wonderful time.👍❤

Wow! Just an amazing portrait of a wave in motion! I am always in awe of how you manage to capture just the right composition you want with a palette knife! You never even pick up a paint brush. Few artists have the capability you have, with knives and paint. I don’t remember you ever using a medium with the oil paints, to make them more fluid or to help in blending. You have such experience painting in this unique method, you know exactly what to do and when. I am in love with your blended colors. They are so clear and beautiful and always on point! Just magnificent and inspiring! There is no way not to gain knowledge from watching you paint.
Thank you for sharing these videos with everyone 🥰

Hello Richard. I only stumbled across your videos recently and really enjoy watching them. I like how you put just enough detail in but keep the whole painting loose. A lesson to all of us who don't know when to stop! Btw you often look off to the right to what I assume is a reference photo. Would be nice to have a glimpse at that too!

Welcome back mate, missed your presence. Needed to see something positive and you nailed it, made me smile. What I love about your surf scenes is the dynamic power that you capture, can almost hear the sound of crashing waves. By the way, sounds like the tenants next door are in a fowl mood, better the sound of chooks than the sound of heavy traffic. I kept imagining them as a replacement for the missing seagulls 🤣You captured the subtleties of tone and colour. The ebb and flow. Again a masterclass in working with spontaneous energy and confidence Richard. I take my hat off to you. Cheers, Rich

MMMMM. Yr editing now includes "quick close ups." I have no metaphor. Well... maybe like those "off grid" people on a hike in Alaska with their "drone" shots. Ya know high up with a drone all of a sudden - the snow, tundra, mountains and sunshine. Course you do cut to those "beach" scenes. You are "not allowed" to go to Alaska. What you would do with the snow and mountains. Too much ! I can't imagine. Mezzmarized ~. There's the word. Time for another cup o coffee. from here in New Hampshire 16 inches of snow yesterday with another foot today. Sweet respite with you! Thank you again. Richard ! The Best! ~~~.

Was thrilled to wake up to a notification that you were painting an ocean scene. Enjoyed the entire video while having my coffee. Absolutely beautiful painting! Is that on canvas? I have painted a few abstract ocean scenes, but my oil paint just doesn't flow like yours. I have to use so much paint to cover a canvas. I realize you use a much higher quality of paint that unfortunately my budget doesn't allow. I use either Gamblin or Windsor & Newton. Could you suggest a good medium perhaps that would make my paint flow a little better? And again, this video was so peaceful with all the ocean video clips and I even enjoyed hearing the turkeys chattering in the background, lol. Gorgeous Work Richard! Outstanding job!

RICHARD...you are an amazing artist. You paint on large canvases or boards..I am not able to find 30"×72" canvas..for a commissioned painting. Could I use a plywood of that size..sand and gesso a few times and get good results, in your opinion?
