- Hi everyone! In this video I demonstrate, first, what I look for in selecting a place to paint. Secondly, the importance of the thumbnail sketch for efficiency, and then on the painting! This painting outing took me about 3 1/2 hours, so I did have to edit it to make this video, but I wanted to concentrate on the essentials for plein air painting, with the concentration on the water and river rocks. This 29 minute video is packed with information on not just all that, but also on mixing colors, painting atmosphere, composition and more to help you on your next outing!

I have a few small angled brushes and some small round detail brushes
A container to hold brushes
Small tri-angled palette knife, for cleaning the palette or sometimes for painting

I'm not a painter, but you paint beautifully.
How do you carry a pallet that big in your backpack?
I was really close to my car. I don’t take it if I’m doing extensive walking or hiking. I have been j own to clip it by the thumb hole to the outside of my backpack with a carabiner though.
