Hey, I just found out last December that I have an ADHD brain. I felt stuck in a vicious cycle for many years no matter how hard I work on myself. So realizing that it's just my brain, and not my conscious[ness] choice, gave me hope. For that reason, the start of the year is really significant to me and I'm very glad I came across your video. Now I got myself the exact smartwatch to help me take charge of my life. Thank you for sharing!
Hey there ... thank you for sharing! I'm almost crying reading this because I have ADHD and I've been diagnosed for two years and I only recently realized that the content I make is especially helpful to us fellow ADHDers and that it has absolutely saved me and taken me out of a negative spiral. I used to have way too much going on and nothing would ever get completely done. I was constantly overwhelmed, I couldn't stop scrolling. I've just minimized my life so much and used technology and different focus techniques to such an extent that I finally feel like I have a lot of control, but I still space out. A lot. I have to work twice as hard to get the same results as others. I'm going to talk about this on the channel soon and I'm starting my medication in April and it's absolutely life-changing. I would love to have you stick around to chat with and share what works and doesn't. Please always feel free to reach out and my heart goes out to you ❤️
I can't tell you how happy I was to find this video. I also have ADHD and really struggle with keeping myself on track unless I use tons of lists and notifications. Most reviews don't talk about the features I need like notifications and assistant. Thank you so much!
Wow, I am in the same situation and I probably have some spectrum of autism to mess up my daily thought process. I never considered a smartwatch of any use but after this video I realized that it could be a nice tool to help myself. Thanks for sharing
I'm not 100% convinced, but I definitely feel a lot more aware of what smartwatches have to offer. I definitely like your emphasis on productivity and decreasing screen time. I think the lower attachment to my phone would bring nothing but good to my life!
This is one of the big things I really like it for. Being able to go about your day without having to keep going back to your phone will be a nice change. I’ve just ordered the new pixel pro and got the pixel watch for free so wanted to see what other ways I could use the watch that aren’t just activity tracking. Here’s hoping I can make it work for me 😊
Never thought that I need a smartwatch - I always believed it was just a gadget. I might have to reconsider my thought there :D Thank you for sharing your experience so far. I hope it will continue to serve you well.
Hey, you, thank you so much for being kind and encouraging! You are exactly the kind of lovely human that I would spend tens of hours putting together the best content I can for. Bless you and may you have a lovely week 💕😁
This is a brilliant video. I've always used smartwatches but it's good to see someone else's perspective from a practical viewpoint. I've just looked at your channel, some really good content on there, about to sub and ring the bell. You deserve far more subs!

Very good list, luckily my body came preinstalled with a water tracking software, when I need to drink I get this funny dry sensation in my mouth, really good design because it contrasts with the wet sensation of drinking so it's very intuitive to use. I also have a doohickey which expells the water in excess allowing me to track how much water was absorbed by my body, the expelled water can have different coloration based on multiple factors which help me diagnose if more liquid needs to be added or if I require to be serviced in extreme cases.

Nice one. Not everyone can recognize that they're low on water until dehydration symptoms set in. Something external to remind you can be a help in those situations.
Your way of presentation is very calm and composed. This is the First ever video that just not only presents the features but actually explains how to use them effectively. Thanks.
Really helpful video. Just got my first smartwatch : a galaxy watch 4 recently and already finding it quite a helpful gadget in my everyday life. PS: It also adds to my styling with a new watchface that can match my outfit / mood.

Damn that kiss in the end. So unpredictable yet so powerful and surprising :) I have the samsung watch5 which as they now switched to wear os also has great apps. Mainly though im using it to listen to music when i go to do a workout outside and dont want to take my phone with me. Besides that, it helps me beating my records in sports and motivates me to stay at it. The notifications from the phone are also very useful. And lastly i develop apps for it :D
What a coincidence. I just ordered the Fossil Gen 5. And was going through Smartwatch videos trying to figure out Apps I will download & what exactly I would use it for. Thank God I found this video. It made me rethink my lifestyle & habits. I have trouble concentrating, am easily destructed, I forget stuff- just the important stuff, I have trouble sleeping even as I write this, it's 3am and I have to be early at work. All this time on my phone or on my computer. Your Apps taste is exactly as mine. I use Google Apps a lot. Keep Notes is one of my most used and productive App on my phone and I am happy it will work on my Fossil. You just gave me a million little ideas on how to use a smartwatch. I have found myself in the past, wondering why I need a Smartwatch when my phone can do 95% of it's jobs. My Fossil is going to be part of me now that I know exactly what to use it for. I have written down ¾ of the points you've mentioned and plan to implement them throughout my day. From Notes to Tasks to Drinking water to Counting steps to Scheduling. Much thanks for the Tips You are a Life Saver 🙏 Plus I would return the Galaxy Watch too!
Thanks for sharing! I relate to your story a lot too, I have ADHD and it's sometimes a big battle with myself to keep focus. Bless you and I hope you have a great year!
Nice video, thats what I was looking for. I dont want the watch for sports and other videos dont explore the productive side of a smartwatch. Thanks, Ill buy mine
The idea of having a smartwatch appeals to me, however I wondered if it was just another fad wish of mine. So, I decided to look for the benefits of smartwatches and stumbled upon your video. Now, I have no doubts that I want to give it a try. Thanks so much.
I've been umming and ahhing over buying a smart watch for the last year or 2. The final straw was how difficult it is to replace the worn-out leather watch band on my still functional name brand "dumb watch". I really enjoyed seeing how you use a smart watch to increase your productivity and reduce your screen time. I've just ordered a Fossil Gen 5 so thank you (couldnt use your Amazon affiliate link though because I'm in Australia). I bought my partner a Samsung Active watch last year but he found that using the apps wasnt as easy so I'm looking first to trying the Fossil.
I am so hopeful that you like it! Thank you so much for sharing your story! I have to warn you that you do need to fiddle around with the battery settings to get a good amount of battery life out of it. I would suggest turning off the sensors most of the time, and also the always on display and the touch to wake up functions. This is how I got mine to run for about 2 days at a time with one charge. Again, I really hope you like it, and if you try this I know you will! Another thing is my advice on how to get the widgets from your phone to mirror on your watch, I wrote how to do it in one of my other comments in the comment section, you should have a look if that interests you 😁
Alon musk says my phone tells me the ⏲️ lol smart watches have low battery life malfunction or dont work as promised 🤔 I'm still on the fence about something I don't need Corona virus showed me to get what you need not what u want
So what do you think? Would a smartwatch be something for you? 🤔 Edit: TO GET THE HABIT TRACKING ON YOUR WATCH: I got the wearable widgets app on my phone that allows you to mirror widgets on your watch and I used the widget from the app "loop habit tracker" that is just a tiny check mark. I check the checkmark on my watch and it updates the app on my phone. You have to pay for extra widgets, but it's worth the 5$! I use other widgets that way too and it works really well. Edit 2: Link to wearable widgets play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.wearablewidgets&hl=en&gl=US Link to loop play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.isoron.uhabits&hl=en&gl=US
OMG I just checked the price after finishing the video and it was 21000 rupees 🔥🔥🔥 ... If I tell my dad that I need that, then he will definitely kick me out from the home hahaha. BTW great video again as always :))
@@rahulgarai6247 Wow, you definitely don't need that one! I was told by a subscriber that the cheaper Xiami watches can do some of these things and are pretty good at it. Some other alternatives might be out there too like second hand etc. BUT it's not the biggest necessity, so it's okay. Thank you so much!! I'm glad you liked it!
Yes. I'm thinking it'd be great for tracking heart rate & setting an alert for when HR is getting high, shortcuts to easily add an entry to my migraine log app (that'd be super helpful if I could keep up with entries when I'm barely able to move), timers for distractions so I'm aware of how much time I generally "lose" doing one thing or another, and timers to help me see avg time needed to do something. Symptom tracking would be great too. I've always been weirded out by sleep tracking apps tho & can't sleep with a watch on, but that feature would be super helpful for those who can. Honestly, top of my mind are music/podcast/audiobook controls without having to locate, pickup, & unlock my smartphone, causing further delays in pausing/rewinding/fast forwarding, etc. Plus holding a smartphone gets hard. I've been looking for more ways to automate & control remotely. This video was recommended under a Tasker tutorial I searched for help with a BT light & alarm clock automation task I created. Overall, really good case to get this watch if it's affordable. I've been experimenting with an old Flic (IoT Bluetooth button) I had lying around just to control playback & automate Bluetooth switching, but it's limited to only 3 inputs (1 click, 2 clicks, holding button) and my phone started severely overheating when I set Tasker to manage all actions. Anyways, so long as smartwatch can actually aid in accessibility, rather than fusing overwhelming notifications to my wrist (basically Apple Watches), I might just be willing to try wearing a watch again lol.
Thank you for those tips on a smart watch. I didn't know a smart watch can do all that! I think I should consider buying one for myself. Taddeo from Durham, NC
Hey, Taddeo! I'm really glad I could help you make that decision and I hope you really find your watch to be as useful as I do. I still wear and use mine every day a whole year later! Sending you much love to Durham! 😊
Hi, looks like Loop Habit Tracker. How did you get it onto your watch? I can't find it in the Play Store. In the official discussion forum, a watch app appears only as a feature request.
not gonna lie, I've been a traditional analog watch wearer for 6+ years. I tried one of the first or second generation smart watches, but reverted back to traditional. the way you broke down all the features (Holy Molly they've come a long way) has me wanting to make the switch. I scroll all day every day, don't drink enough water, and can use the exercise reminders, but aparently there's so much more that, with how use my phone, the watch would be so much better for me overall, and could potentially replace my phone in its entirety.
Which watch did you use to show examples of what a smartwatch can do? The Samsung Galaxy or the Fossil Gen 5 because I DO need all these things in a small reach distance. Now I'm aware that smartwatches can do SO much and it's honestly really astonishing. Keep up the good work!!
Yes, for sure, I have WearOS too! I got the wicked widgets app on my phone that allows you to mirror widgets on your watch and I used the widget from loop habit tracker that is just a tiny check mark. You have to pay for extra widgets, but it's definitely worth the 5$! I use other widgets that way too, feel free to message me on Instagram if you need more help!
Hey! That’s because I actually used a little hack: I bought the wicked widgets app on my phone that allows you to mirror widgets on your watch and I used the widget from loop habit tracker that is just a tiny check mark. Definitely worth the 5$! I use other widgets that way too, but I’m not sure it works on the Tic Watch - I hope it does 🤞🏻 message me on Instagram if you need more help!
They may say that buying a smartwatch may get you more attached to you phone. But smartwatch is really useful in my productivity and in lessening my screen time.
I guess you could also use the watch to help you remember to pray and to track your focus and breathing when praying. Your relationship with God is the most important metric to track and Improve in life. Making quality time for Jesus and following through on that time could dramatically improve your prayer life. You could even set your watch up to start prayer time after you clear your mind with the meditation app.
Hi, I'm so sorry that this took a little while. I am going to try and make a little list here :) 1. Water Time for water intake 2. Keep notes for notes 3. Google Calendar / Agenda for schedules 4. Google Fit Breathe for small meditations 5. Wicked Widgets + Habit Loop tracker and the widgets from that application for tracking habits (this costs about 5$) 6. Camera Remote: Wear OS for photos from the watch 7. The fitness functions were pre-installed from wear os, as well as the timer, torch, map and translation tool 8. I also have spotify for music controls, but it is limited. When you watch a youtube video on your phone you can control it from the watch though 9. Lifesum for tracking meals 10. Wicked Widgets + the widget from the Zero fasting app for tracking fasts and generally wicked widgets with any app that doesn't really have a watch interface. This is so worth the small fee! Hope that helps and let me know if I missed anything!
Is anyone aware if the Fossil 5E supports the habits app that's used in this video? I can't seem to find it on the playstore. Not too sure what's going on.
Hey! I use the habits app and the wearable widgets app to show the habit tracking widget on from "loop habit tracker" on the watch. It's really easy to set up
This video is fine, but when you charge your watch how do you track the steps or activities? I mean, in some point I guess the watch will run out of battery.
@@AntoniatheUniverse Nooo! I think sleeping is important to have it with you to track your sleeping. What I'm doing is charging it when I'm working on a chair for around 1-2 hours.
What about when you first wake up? I charge my watch like that and it gets enough juice for the day while I'm brushing my teeth and doing other morning tasks. And if I'm planning to track my sleep, I'll make sure to find an opportunity to charge it beforehand (like you said when you're sitting down working)
Welche App verwendest du in diesem Video für deine täglichen Gewohnheiten? Könntest du auch alle anderen Apps in einer kleinen Liste aufführen? Vielen Dank 😊
All I want is a watch that can replace my phone. I want to walk out the door without my phone and use my watch for calling, and texting. I think these watches still need to be connected to your phone right?
I am so happy with my fossil gen 5 one year later - the battery is great, there are lots of apps, it measures pulse and walking decently well and it never looses connection with my phone. All you have to do is tweak the settings like turn off the always on display to save more battery. I'd recommend it!
Water Tracking - how did she get reminders? My water tracking tile only lets me add one cup of water each time I tap... not really a reminder. Use galaxy watch 4 here.
You get the reminders on your phone if you set it up and then your phone sends the notification to your watch. The watch up itself doesn't really do much :(
Hey there! I use the loop or "habits" habit tracker, it has a circular arrow on a blue background as the icon and it's available for all operating systems. It's really good too!
Hi, Steven! Thank you so much for your kind words and for the question. It's a little bit complicated to get the habit tracking to work on these "non-apple" devices, but it'S definitely doable! I got the wicked widgets app on my phone that allows you to mirror widgets on your watch and I used the widget from the app "loop habit tracker" that is just a tiny check mark. I check the checkmark on my watch and it updates the app on my phone. You have to pay for extra widgets, but it's worth the 5$! I use other widgets that way too and it works really well.
@@stevenbuursema7923 I'm so sorry, the app is called "wearable widgets" my bad! Here is a link play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.wearablewidgets&hl=en&gl=US you can really easily test it with one widget if you also install the loop habit tracker app play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.isoron.uhabits&hl=en&gl=US You've got this! Again, I'm so sorry and THANK YOU!
Hello, brother! Thank you for your kind words and for commenting! I left links to both of the watches in the description, I am not sure which one you mean but we have the fossil carlyle and the samsung galaxy watch in this video 💕
These are features of wear OS, I'm sure many of them are implemented similarly on other smartwatch operating systems, but they probably just work a little different or have different names. You might want to play around a little and search here and there. Good luck!
This is so good thank you. Most ppl making videos on these watches are male geeks that are too rational. This was inspiring and made me think this would be useful for me to. Thank you. Very inspiring
Lmao, awesome! I think the market niche for these things is so specific that it's probably just us two in it 😄 I love it though, they both are amazing pieces of tech in what they do. Just make sure to use the extended battery mode on the fossil 😁
@@AntoniatheUniverse 🤣 i use custom profiles for the battery, and turn the screen off when I'm working out or wearing it to sleep. Did you get the update? Seems legitimately faster now. I'm going to rewatch your video tomorrow and see how many of your tips I can use
Ah, so you know your stuff! I didn't realize there was an update yet, I'm going to have a look at that right away 😁 Thankfully I have no real complaints about it at all, so it can only get better. Also, that's awesome, thank you ❤
I was using pebble (shame they end and now Fitbit) 6 years ago (Uni student) where world was still not much idea what smartwatch is but I never had one till now. , I used it to wake me up by buzzing my wrist when a bus is already coming within a setup minutes and me arrive at certain place. Make estimates of how much far am I to the bus stop, where is the nearest. Giving me Authentication codes as second passwords. Predicting weathers, geocache, google maps, health activity trackers, almost all feats what this author said except some, Remotely controlling my Presentation by wave hand gestures mesmerizing my classmates saying wtf how did you do that. CCTV, ip , traffic camera monitoring. Other infinite possibilities. For me its the essence of the cooperation between the Maker giving easy to learn code kits and the geeky ideas software developer makes that will make the smartwatch superbly useful. It could probably help you organize what would you like todo in daily life at a breeze without needing to get your phone. What I don't like today are the size and weights of smartwatches. I miss my pebble.
Hey there, wow! Thanks for sharing! I am a software engineer and a geek too and hearing all of your ideas gets me SO excited. I used to have a moto 360 back in the day, but the battery was dying before even half of my day was over. I believe the simpler watches like pebble and fitbit had it better in that scenario :D I am, just like you, wishing for more sleek and simple designs for the watches, but hopefully with much better battery. We need more people to express their desire for one so hopefully more applications and uses will pop up too, but it's definitely much better now than it was 6 years ago!
I have the loop habit tracker app and if you have a look at one of the other comments around here I also wrote a detailed description of the app for the watch tracking! Hope that helps 😊
@@AntoniatheUniverse Wow, thanks! And as the reply in the other comment says, this is a good topic to make a video about! (I'm talking about the watch setup)
Hi there. Thanks for making this, I've been looking for this video. Regarding the Fossil watch, are we able to write notes or have motivational quotes pop up once in a while? For example, "Hey, you're doing great!" something like that. Thanks again!
I have the I am app on my phone and when I let it send notifications and receive them on my watch they come through as you say! Notes also work especially as voice notes it’s really practical! If you get the fossil watch just make sure you play with the battery settings so it lasts you longer Thank you so much for watching ❤️
You missed the most important thing about smart watch. Never lose your phone ever again. I just realized that smartwatch/fitbit is the gadget I need in this situation.
OH WOW, yes! I use the find my phone function a few times a week for sure. It's a great way to detach, but be alert in case anything important pops up.
For sure, my phone is always tucked away while biking so I don't drop and break it, so actually this is a really great use of the watch. I didn't even think of that! Thanks 😊
Thank you! It's true, there are some really expensive one out there, but I know my friend had a "Xiaomi mi watch" for 30 euros and that can already do so many things! There are definitely options to consider.

That's amazing! I love it so much too! AND you spend less time on your phone with it.
Another thing is my advice on how to get the widgets from your phone to mirror on your watch, I wrote how to do it in one of my other comments in the comment section, you should have a look if that interests you 😁
@@AntoniatheUniverse Thank you, that is so helpful. Yes, i've fiddled with some settings to make the battery last longer. I really enjoy it so far :)

Great video, very useful. Thank you ❤
Do you have the men's watch?
So what do you think? Would a smartwatch be something for you? 🤔
Edit: TO GET THE HABIT TRACKING ON YOUR WATCH: I got the wearable widgets app on my phone that allows you to mirror widgets on your watch and I used the widget from the app "loop habit tracker" that is just a tiny check mark. I check the checkmark on my watch and it updates the app on my phone. You have to pay for extra widgets, but it's worth the 5$! I use other widgets that way too and it works really well.

Yeah I was just thinking about a Xiaomi watch because I am currently using a Xiaomi mobile :))
Hey, how can you got that quick timer widget in new one ui watches default looks soo messy
thanks for the video, I could get how you r tracking your habits, can any one explain to me?
Great info. This would be so useful for managing CFS
Wow, exactly what I was looking for.
Not just the tech specs reading 😅
Thank you for those tips on a smart watch. I didn't know a smart watch can do all that! I think I should consider buying one for myself. Taddeo from Durham, NC
Hey, Taddeo! I'm really glad I could help you make that decision and I hope you really find your watch to be as useful as I do. I still wear and use mine every day a whole year later! Sending you much love to Durham! 😊
Hi, looks like Loop Habit Tracker. How did you get it onto your watch? I can't find it in the Play Store. In the official discussion forum, a watch app appears only as a feature request.
Somewhere in the pinned comment I posted an extact solution, it uses a widget app!
@@AntoniatheUniverse awesome, thanks!
So you can pûv reminders with text in it witouth being connected to a smart phone?
You do have to be connected by bluetooth I believe! Haven't tested it without.
not gonna lie, I've been a traditional analog watch wearer for 6+ years.
Subscribed! Because of you, I'll definitely buy a smartwatch within the week. Aiming to get the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 Classic. 😀
Hope you like having a smartwatch as much as I do!
this is such a great and insightful video
Which watch did you use to show examples of what a smartwatch can do? The Samsung Galaxy or the Fossil Gen 5 because I DO need all these things in a small reach distance. Now I'm aware that smartwatches can do SO much and it's honestly really astonishing.
Keep up the good work!!
Will get my smartwatch tomorrow 😀
Excited 😀
Did your smartwatch arrive? I hope it is helpful to you and you liked it! Have a lot of fun with it and I wish you a lovely rest of the week 🤗
This is very good. It's really helpful cuz I've been seeing to buy one. By the way, can we type in for translator instead of speaking?
Thank you so much! You can definitely type as well, it just takes a little longer :)
Just now discovered you and your channel. Loved this video. What note app were you using with your watch?
Hi, welcome, glad you joined! I use the google keep notes app on all my devices- it syncs beautifully and it’s very easy to use.

They may say that buying a smartwatch may get you more attached to you phone. But smartwatch is really useful in my productivity and in lessening my screen time.
Exactly this is my point, I'm happy it's helping you too!
*I don't know, I still don't feel like my life needs a smart watch*
I guess you could also use the watch to help you remember to pray and to track your focus and breathing when praying. Your relationship with God is the most important metric to track and Improve in life. Making quality time for Jesus and following through on that time could dramatically improve your prayer life. You could even set your watch up to start prayer time after you clear your mind with the meditation app.
Hi, thanks for the video. May I know which apps you are using to track your water intake, health, sleep etc.
Same here
Hi, I'm so sorry that this took a little while. I am going to try and make a little list here :)
1. Water Time for water intake
2. Keep notes for notes
3. Google Calendar / Agenda for schedules
4. Google Fit Breathe for small meditations
5. Wicked Widgets + Habit Loop tracker and the widgets from that application for tracking habits (this costs about 5$)
6. Camera Remote: Wear OS for photos from the watch
7. The fitness functions were pre-installed from wear os, as well as the timer, torch, map and translation tool
8. I also have spotify for music controls, but it is limited. When you watch a youtube video on your phone you can control it from the watch though
9. Lifesum for tracking meals
10. Wicked Widgets + the widget from the Zero fasting app for tracking fasts and generally wicked widgets with any app that doesn't really have a watch interface. This is so worth the small fee!
Hope that helps and let me know if I missed anything!
@@AntoniatheUniverse I can't find wicked widgets in the play store or Google when I looked it up

I love you too over in Bangladesh! I hope you are well! 💕💕😊
This video is fine, but when you charge your watch how do you track the steps or activities? I mean, in some point I guess the watch will run out of battery.
True! The trick is to charge it while you're not doing much, like lounging or sleeping!

What is the name of the app in which you can track your habits?
It's loop habit tracker ☺️
All I want is a watch that can replace my phone. I want to walk out the door without my phone and use my watch for calling, and texting. I think these watches still need to be connected to your phone right?
Very down to earth.. Thoroughly enjoyed.
Thank you so, so much! I'm really glad I could be helpful to you! 🤗
Which smartwatch is better overall, the fossils or the galaxy one..? (Now that galaxy also come with wear OS)

Welcome! I hope you enjoy your smartwatch experience too 😊
I was using pebble (shame they end and now Fitbit) 6 years ago (Uni student) where world was still not much idea what smartwatch is but I never had one till now. , I used it to wake me up by buzzing my wrist when a bus is already coming within a setup minutes and me arrive at certain place.
