Best Aquaman in history, probably Johns greatest feat, against the advice of all at DC, he fought to be given Aquaman, being told it was a waste of time, He changed public perception towards Arthur Curry. This run was the basis for the Billion plus box office movie which Johns himself wrote. Mera is awesome, as Johns says, truly underestimated character, who is potentially among DC's strongest female characters. Aquaman is lucky, his enemies cannot target his love interest, they would regret going after the Queen. Only pity that this memorable Aquaman run was cut short, Johns has planned a much longer run, but petty people at DC stopped him, probably out of spitefulness for proving them wrong.
I have a lot of the issues of this run, but I think this video has definitely reminded me that I should probably go for the Omnibus. Story is great, in addition to Ivan Reis, and Paul Pelletier doing pencils is a huge selling point. Ivan Reis is probably the best penciler working in the industry today in my mind, and I feel like Paul Pelletier is also good essentially coming off the bench here. Joe Prado as inker completes an all-star lineup.
Any of Reis' work that I've ever seen has been excellent, and Pelletier does a great job in this book too - just an overall great run from everyone involved!
This was my favorite run of the New 52. I’ve always loved Aquaman. He’s my second favorite superhero and Johns outdid himself. I also love Ivan Reis art. I also adored Throne of Atlantis. I hope one day we can get Jeff Parker stuff on Aquaman in omnibus format alongside Dan Abmett run.

New52 Aquaman was great till Parker, but with bunn they ruined it, what was DC thinking with that Bunn run.
