  • For $25 I took our 23 year old headlights from old, yellow, and faded to looking like they came new from the factory back in the 90s. The headlights on the 1999 3000gt are becoming more expensive to replace everyday so this kit was a life saver.
With this $25 kit and a few hours of elbow grease you can bring your headlights back from the grave.

Great stuff bro. They turned out great, I can cheat on my 93 since I have pop up’s, I just swap mine out lol. But that kit is no joke, going to try it on my other vehicles.

I've used the kit on a few other vehicles around the house and they all came out great. What other cars do you have.

Based on the condition of them lights. Starting off with 600 and stepping up to 1500 would ensure all the yellow and pitting is gone. Restoring headlights is one of my side gigs. And im not saying they look bad. They look amazing but save the higher grits for the finishing stages. And i have always used a 2k clear for the headlights. I never trusted the off the shelf products. Just a helpful tip. Btw i subbed to your channel. Love the cars

Thanks for the tips. I've looked into using clear in the future now that I've picked up a decent paint gun. What brand do you recommend for the clear? Thank you for the sub.

@@illusiveinu i haven't used a spray gun yet. I typically wait to get a few sets to restore then use Spraymax 2k clear from a spray can. Always yielded professional and permanent results. If you use a spray gun only thing i can recommend is using a clear with a 2 part system (clear and hardner)

Love this series, I just bought my first car ('96 3000gt SL) and these have been great for me to learn a little bit more and start some work on my own!

I did same thing to my 99 headlights a couple years ago. Seems like within months they would start to haze again. I ended up painting them black and clear coating when i painted the car.

Mine was holding up good until a car care product didnt agree with the top coat but that was quickly fixed with a buff and reapplying the UV coat.
How did the paint come out when you painted them?

@illusive inu Man, I did the same thing, headlights were sitting on the ground and I decided to spray brake cleaner on a part while I was right next to them. I am sure you can imagine my disgust when I almost ruined $1,200 in headlights
