Wow oh wow 🤩 Thanks for sharing! Mate, this vid is going to cause me to eat into my savings. PS. Nice to see another Aussie brother with the horology illness
Thanks for this very informative review. I decided to purchase the same watch based on your review and enthusiasm for this watch. A couple of minor additions are that the watch has a hacking movement (good for second synchronization) , a free sprung balance, the alarm power can be wound manually by turning the crown at 2, and a tuned gong that is hit by the hammer. This last feature makes that alarm sound more like a repeater than a buzzer.
danjsteinpdx Way to go! Unfortunately, I can't wear mine at the moment as it is off for repair ... the crown at 2 o'clock decided to refuse to screw down. Thankfully it is still within warranty. The attention to detail on the piece is exactly what you would expect from a company with the history (and longevity) of Blancpain.
Very informative review! Thank you! I am looking forward to getting this exact same model as my first high-end watch, also as a gift to myself for getting my PhD. Before I jump onto it, may I ask you a couple of questions? After 3 years' ownership, do you still think it is a good watch to have? What's the cost on the service? How do you feel about the bracelet? I find there is an around 1500 USD delta between a bracelet model and a strap one. Which one would you pick? Best.
Love the hands on the watch as i get confused at night time as to which hand you are looking at. Is the lume very strong at night time and easily difined
A beautiful watch, with fantastic complications !! … but for a watch with a mechanical alarm function, I prefer simplicity of the JLC Master Control Memovox !!
I saw these in Selfridges, London, you have to see a Blancpain to appreciate, the level of finishing is phenomenal
Wow oh wow 🤩

+Dick the tick The Lume is OK .. but certainly not in the Rolex Sub or Omega Seamaster league.
Good review m3 , thats a smart looking piece of kit.

Was wondering what the service costs ended up being for this watch?
From memory it was about $2500 AUD
