Would this be a good first bike? Because I was planning on getting a r7 but this is way more appealing especially the price
Per every review, they seem to state this bike has quite a bit more power. The acceleration times also would agree with that, 0-200 kmh (0-125ish mph) over 6 seconds faster than the R7… that’s a pretty big difference. Its closer to an MT09 in a straight line then it is in an R7… it’s still slower accelerating then a MT09 though, don’t get me wrong there, just not by that much…
Is it possible for a new rider to handle it? Yes. Does it also have enough power to get you into situations you're not ready for? Also yes. I think just about any new rider is better off buying something like a used ninja 400 or something similar and riding that for a year or two before moving to something with nearly 100hp.
Seating position alone, this over the R7 for street work. New rider friendly? Would not recommend it. Much rather steer you towards CBR500R or Ninja 650. I am 5'11" and prefer those bikes to Ninja 400/500 based on physical size. The Ninja 650 with the Kawasaki Ergo-fit seat raises the seat 30mm and makes for a more sporting rider triangle. If you are a smaller lighter rider, the new CBR500R with Showa SFF-BP fork is a great bike. A bit softly sprung for my 210 lbs, but it has a better rear suspension design than the Ninja or the Daytona. I ride all 3, but the Ninja is the most versatile and the power is good/fun without being overwhelming for a new rider.
@@GripEngineering at 6’ I had no issues with the Ninja 400, absolutely loved it actually. Its way better than the 650 in the twisties, the engine is more of a little revver so wringing it out was fun…

Understood. It comes down to use case mainly, versatility. Ninja 400 is certainly fun, but if I'm commuting on a big road with trucks, the 650 is a huge advantage with extra torque, wheelbase, and presence (45 lbs of it).
Preciosa..👍👍👍
