I think the SuperNote has really moved beyond Remarkable at this point when comparing the two most direct competitors. And the Boox Tab Ultra series is seriously going to soak up marketshare from both of them even though it's not as focused on just the writing experience. But if you want a pen & paper replacement, the SuperNote surpasses the Remarkable.
They havent announced anything yet regarding a new version of the tablet but I wouldn't be surprised if something gets announced by the end of this year @@braaitongs
Great review, I have been considering one of these for a couple of years now and this has sealed the deal. I take copious notes for different aspects of my life and this really looks like a great way to organise and store these as opposed to tons of notebooks everywhere.
Thanks! Yeah I’m also someone who takes tons of notes and need a place to organize. There particular kinds of notes that just require me to use a pen or pencil and this is an option. Pricey but an option none the less
Super video. I‘m not used to leave comments, but this review is worth to be followed during the hole time. I have a Remakable2 and I can only subscribe what you mentioned. It will not substitute the iPad and/or the Mac, gut it‘s a perfect and useful device to put down notes, ideas or thoughts. Nice done!!
I was aware of the space at the bottom but when you mentioned it I noticed I was resting my palm there and that made me think that is why they didn’t extend the screen all the way down to allow for that
it caught my attention for the very reason that I have things written on all kinds of papers, notebooks, pads, it's gotten out of control. Plus, I can't remember where or what I wrote something down on. Even though I label notebooks or file pages, it's too much stuff! The idea of having all of the things in one place makes so much sense.
Everything in one place! I notice myself using a lot for quick not taking as it’s literally as easy as turning it on and pressing quick notes. Then they’re all saved there for future use. Game changer
Great video Jonathan, congrats. How the reMarkable 2 is working thourght the CFA Program? I saw a folder "CFA Work", that's awesome... i know the commitment. I'm looking for a digital notebook just before start studing to CFA. Regards from Brazil, Antonio.
I appreciated this review. Mine is on its way and I've been consuming as much info as possible in preparation. I was wondering what sleeve you were using for storage. Just a generic tablet sleeve?
Hey thank you! And I’m using the remarkable 2 polymer weave folio from Remarkable. It is around $90 at best-buy but there are plenty of awesome third party sleeves you can get for less
The only way I can see you printing a file from the tablet is through going to its desktop or mobile app where all your files sync. But I don’t see a way yet to print directly from the tablet itself. Maybe in a future update they’ll add it?
I carry two moleskin notebooks when I travel and I travel a lot. Looking forward to minimizing the amount of paper I have. Just bought one and waiting on delivery. Have you used any of the templates? If so please review. Found lots of templates on ETSY.
I too also take a couple of slim profile notebooks with me. I haven’t tried the templates but I’ll be sure to check them out and hopefully put a review out! Cheers!
It writes very similarly. Of course different materials will feel different but there is friction when writing compared to writing on an iPad on the glossy screen with the soft and smooth pen tip
@@JonathanTanase do you find any difficulty regarding the visibility of the device in medium and low lighting conditions considering there is no backlight? I mean, is it less visible than a book in the same conditions?
I would say it is about the same visibility as a book is not a little bit better due the contrast between background and ink. You'll need a light source in if you are in darker conditions, though, I have never really found this to be an issue anyways since I'm not working or writing in the dark in any other situation.@@dragospahontu
You say PDFs can only be 'markedup' so you can't create new PDFs on the RM2? The device looks awesome and I love the minimalist approach, but if it can't create PDFs or MS DOC files, that seems very limiting. The workflow I need is to be able to create docs on the tablet, make them easy to access from PC/MAC, further edit them there, push them back to the tablet for further revision and reference. Think of note taking for school/work - jot lecture/mtg notes an the tablet, later revise those on the PC like adding text or graphics, then pushing back to the RM2 to have readily available for reference or further revision/enhancement. Can it do that? Great video BTW
So you cannot unfortunately edit word documents or anything of the sort… for right now. Like you said, only markup documents. It really is strictly note taking or writing. But the updates that come from the company usually are large/add lots of functionality so we could see something in the future … hopefully
I constantly have issues with mine, as does a work colleague. Several times mine has needed to be left for a week for the power to deplete then charged a day before it will turn on. I don't use it for anything other than a scribble pad as I don't trust it. I won't buy another.
Oh dang! That really sucks… I wonder what other people’s experiences are long term… yeah even without the issues that you had it’s still hard to recommend because the price vs functionality. Super niche product for sure
That’s what kept me from almost not buying it. It’s steep and they pride themselves like apple and apply that “brand tax” on it. It’s a great product but it’s def not a friendly budget product
Would you buy this? 📝

i just bought it 😄, but ordered the tablet only , and third party pen and cover
Awesome! Yeah there are a lot of thrid party companies that carry some great stuff for this tablet! I hope yo enjoy it!@@MarcelloBranca
I am seriously considering this. However, is there a remarkable 3 in the works? if so I would wait for that.

Great video - you answered a lot of questions I couldn't find the answers to in other reviews! Love Thor's guest appearance
Hey thanks! Glad I could help answer questions you had!
Nice review man! Also, loved your cat. He genuinely made me smile :)
Aw, I’m glad my cat (Thor is his name) was able to do that :D

Hope you like it! And Thank you!

Are there any magnetic pen alternatives? The ReMarkable one is super expensive.
There a lot of alternatives on Amazon for around $25 which is way better than the official price lol

@@JonathanTanase Thanks so much for the reply! I'll have to check out my options. I got my remarkable 2 and I've been loving it so far.
What gaming controller is that on your desk? Is it for your pc?
Yeah! It’s a wired Xbox controller with back programmable buttons and back trigger adjustments
@JonathanTanase cool and you can't use it on the pc. Did not know that.
Yeah just plugs right in like any ol' USB device and works right out of the box@@braaitongs
Hi ! Great review ! Question is this a good ereader as well to read pdfs ?
Hi! It does great with pdfs. Reading and marking them up
Can you print from it? Like send a note/doc straight to the printer

Isbit difficult to adapt from pen and paper to this?

Nice intro, man, I felt like in a videogame 🥹
Glad to hear that!
The cost is outrageous. I would consider paying 200 for bundle no more.

This is just a really bad review. This guy just rambles on and on and doesn't offer any insight into the product of value. Big huge thumbs down.
Thank you for listening to my rambling. This comment is a huge thumbs up 👍
But seriously, thanks for the feedback! It's tough for me to organize my thoughts when talking on camera, so ill be sure to practice and get better.
too long of an intro-- next!!!
Working on that! Thanks!
