Hey crew! Let us know if you'd ever consider trading your journals and books for this Remarkable tablet. Also whenever I say "this year" I mean my use of it in 2023! * We've been surprised how much we are loving it!*
Good vid and production quality! I'd recommend trying out the metallic tips if you want to get it feeling more like a pen and don't want to worry about changing the tips constantly. I'm putting out a rM3 wishlist vid today, huge fan of the remarkable series ... I've been a day 1 user. Also a quick tip, tapping with two fingers or three triggers an undo or redo, very useful! Also 3:22 I have the craft keyboard too :) Have you considered the type folio for you workflow?
Thanks for checking it out! As for the metallic tips I've heard mixed reviews on if they damage the screen at all - What do you think? Thanks for the undo/redo reminder! I did think about the Type Folio but because its more weight when traveling, and I already carry my laptop it didnt seem worth it!
I really enjoy my remarkable! It's great for meeting notes and taking notes along the way on a project at work, whilst keeping it all organised in the respective folders. My desk is so clean now :) Request: you mentioned around 6:50 that you use it to import notes/doodles into your videos. Could you do a tutorial of that, please? :)
This is the video I have been looking for. I travel full-time and balancing notebooks and books is frustrating. I have a kindle as well but I'm hoping to get down to just the one device. Thanks!
I love my reMarkable2. I’ve also noticed an improvement in my penmanship as prior to the RM2, I always typed my notes in notepad, etc. it’s my best purchase of 2023.
it's a cool device. I had the gen 1, but decided to upgrade to a Kindle Scribe instead of remarkable 2. I think the Scribe is catching up to the writing capabilities of remarkable. The few things missing at this point are the gesture shortcuts and the zooming in/infinite page size. I'm not a heavy reader as well, but the Scribe is just so optimized for digital books that it even integrates with the public library. So I end up reading a lot more because of it. I would recommend the Scribe over the Remarkable for traveling because of it. Being able to bring your entire book collection with you on the go is just hard to beat.
Love that! & can totally see how the Scribe can better suit some people’s preferences. I’ve been using my Library access to ebooks too (so cool they’ve developed that) and I just convert them and drop them onto the Rm2 through their desktop app. Hasn’t been too hard!
It is an awesome size for travel, I take it with me for work and travel all the time. I’m a professional and college student and it works perfect rather at work, the corporate setting or sitting at the park. I have both the rM2, which is my primary digital device and notebook replacement and the SN A5X as a secondary device. I’ve had my device for three years as well. People mentions the product is three years old and jumped on the SN, but didn’t pay attention that SN only changed their product to meet the future requirements of the EU and change of some of the insides but also said they are a creating a product that doesn’t need to be updated meaning i.e., they don’t plan on updating their products either but to be long standing products like the rM. Its doesn’t necessary need to be updated because it does what it is designed to do. We are so used to Apple updating it products thus creating a mentality that we have to have the greatest and latest tech. These are designed to last for many years and bring awareness for people how they are influenced and desire to be in the majority with the latest and greatest technology vs. mastering organization and reducing distractions.
I totally agree with this! They designed a very well thought out product 3 years ago and it proves by the fact people are purchasing it today and seeing its usefulness! I’ve been pleasantly surprised on all aspects of it! Thanks for sharing your opinion!
I also have the Staedtler Noris Classic (no eraser) besides the jumbo but i guess my hands got bigger and found it too thin. You're spot on, the jumbo felt like a ball point pen while the RM plus makes sound like a pencil. I just hope the RM2 has more than 8gb, if you're heavy on notes that will fill up pretty fast. Thanks for the vid. I also hope they can add more pen selection, but for now calligraphy is my favorite.
While it's a lot more expensive than the Staedtler, if you have a Samsung S Pen from a tablet, that works on the rM2 as well (it doesn't have an "eraser", but I think the eraser marquee tool is infinitely better than a regular eraser anyway). There's also a 3rd party software called "reMarkable Connection Utility" that makes moving around documents and customizing the device a lot easier. I found it difficult to get used to a tablet that has such a "limited" number of uses, but it's definitely one of its strengths, not a weakness.
Bought it after watching this video. Cost me an arm and a leg in India, but I'm hoping the add-ons like marker tips and cloud storage are not going to kill me over time. Thanks
Love my remarkable so much! Great video. :) I use both the regular case and the keyboard case - both are great. I do travel with a Kindle and my iPhone as well, because the Kindle is much better for digital reading. The remarkable is also great for uploading musical scores & marking them up for practice. I also use it as an educator and researcher.
That’s awesome! When you travel with iPhone, Kindle and RM2 do you bring a laptop too? I’ve considered Kindle as well because of the digital backlight and even smaller footprint!
I use it for roof quotes . Can draw a roof shape and measurements onto it then have materials underneath. It’s handy handy handy just copy the materials to the next drawing and keep quoting
As a student myself, I've been doubting if I should buy it or not. The product looks great and I'd love to use it for studying purpose. But given the fact that it is not as multifunctional as I would like (e.g. no color display), the price for the tablet and the pencil is a bit out of my budget range. If they were to include a pencil (be it the non-pro pencil) with a purchase of the Remarkable 2 tablet, I would definitely get one.
I just got one of these, exchange rate must be crazy because they're just under $700 in Australia for the tablet + marker plus. Absolutely loving it though :)
Hi! From my testing, it can but the accuracy is off when using on RM screen. I saw on Reddit people just shave down the nib a little to make it perfectly work.
There’s footage of bright environments in the video, as for dim lit it is harder to read, I still do it though in moody lighting, but I’ve heard people just buy an attachable reading light for it haha.
Thank you. May I ask you please... can you copy text from an e-book and paste it into a notebook? Also, does the Remarkable allow a split screen, where you can have an e-book and notebook opened side by side? I currently have the Scribe, which I love, but these features are missing. Thank you again!
To my knowledge you cannot copy and paste text from a book, and also there is no split screen option for notebook/book. You CAN add a note page to write on/take notes on inside of a book or PDF you're reading and then export that if you'd like. Those would be cool, but since its notes focused and not reading focused I see why they don't have it.
Sadly it didn’t! Apparently the design of the RM marker nib needs to sit a certain amount inside the stylus to work so it was inaccurate writing on screen. In the meantime, I got a LAMY al-star and the RM nib works flawlessly in there
totally agree its not the best for books. I just don't read enough to purchase a kindle which really only does reading as its best feature. so far reading on the RM2 i've enjoyed!
FYI If your book is in the ePub format, you can actually change the font size& type, and you can change the page format too. You won't be able to do this with PDF's.
I am not sure if it is a good size for travel. I think a 7.8" is better. I have just bought Supernote A6X2 after using Remarkable 2. The only reason I returned Remarkable 2 was that the product is 3 years old and they'll be pushing out a new one soon. Also some of my PDF files did not load and were sluggish.
I love the Remarkable, but it is a downright terrible option for books. If you're just doing note-taking, it doesn't get any better! If you're looking for a solid reader, the Kindle Scribe, Supernote, and Boox tablets are all far better options.

This is the best review I’ve actually found so far. Thanks!!
Thanks for checking it out!

Been using mine for a couple of years now. It has made a world of difference for me. No more paper for me.
I really enjoy my remarkable! It's great for meeting notes and taking notes along the way on a project at work, whilst keeping it all organised in the respective folders. Thanks!!! That was a very well made video. I'm contemplating on buying a Remarkable tablet and your video certainly helped. Just subscribed!!!!
Thanks for the kind words! It really is an amazing device for daily life and getting away from all those distracting notifications!
This was a great overview video and helped reinforce my decision to purchase the ReMarkable 2. Thank you!
Just bought on off amazon.... can't wait to start using it! Thank you. ♥
I love my reMarkable2. I’ve also noticed an improvement in my penmanship as prior to the RM2, I always typed my notes in notepad, etc. it’s my best purchase of 2023.
Mine is arriving today, ordered yesterday! Getting the Staedtler Jumbo and and folio cover from Amazon, overall about €200 cheaper.
This is such a cool product. I'm strongly considering this for screenplay writing.
It'd be so great for that! Especially if you wanna markup pre-written screenplays and send to people for revisions.

Hi. Did you try swapping tips between the Staedler & the RM Stylus?- I wonder which one is more durable. Thx
Interested to know of you checked out the other eink tablets that are out there before you went for the remarkable?
hey there! I haven't used them personally, but have watched quite a few YT videos on others. Whats a brand/model you'd recommend I check out?

exactly! I agree! I have both also and RM2 has the best companion app- (I am also a professional & student)

Ah no. 8Gb it is. How else will they sell cloud services?
I totally understand your take on this product and why you love it so much. I also am a lefty!😅
Lefties unite!

I want to use it in business as well. Have you ever had any customer sign agreements or contracts using the remarkable tablet??
What's the backpack at 0:44?
It’s the compagnon element 20L backpack!

Great review! You said everything I believe about mine. I tried to become an affiliate because I like it so much.
Thank you so much i like your show and you bring all important points❤
Can the Stadtler take the Marker Plus nibs?
Hi! From my testing, it can but the accuracy is off when using on RM screen. I saw on Reddit people just shave down the nib a little to make it perfectly work.
How does this look in a dim lit room or outside on a bright day?
There’s footage of bright environments in the video, as for dim lit it is harder to read, I still do it though in moody lighting, but I’ve heard people just buy an attachable reading light for it haha.

Remarkable is not the best for books. All you can do is zoom. Can't tweak the contrast or font. Its great for writing and the app works great.

Wow, so much useful info

Good video, although the background music is really irritating. And distracting.
You can buy happiness.
lol
Did this lady just dissed Samsung openly she said in quote it's not like you own a Samsung
I dont think she meant to diss samsung
Too big for travel. Get the a6x2
i like the size of it right now, but I will check out the a6x2!
Like your wrist tag: Yes, in Hebrew!
Rename the quicksheets, otherwise new quicksheets just appends a new page to the quickstheet 'quicksheets'
Thanks for this tip!
