Good job, friend. You have skillful hands. Take care of them. When I saw you stick a wooden handle onto the shank of a knife, my heart sank. I have a friend with whom I once worked. He used the same method to put a wooden handle on the rasp shank. The handle split into two halves, and he pierced his arm with the shank. The spectacle, I must say, is not a pleasant one. Of course, I myself do not always follow safety precautions at work, but it was this moment that made me shudder. ))) I wish you creative success and health.
Thanks Kirill! Your concerns are much appreciated. I know, I should take better care and safety measures. But as you mentioned, it is easy to forget on those things when you carried by work... Take care!
What I like best in your videos is the saving and restoration of the original handles. There are many people around cracking up the old wooden handles and replacing them with newly made ones. I would always prefer reusing old wooden parts, if possible. Thanks again for another great video !

Hi Boris, good stuff! 🙂👍 The vinegar bath worked nicely and you did a nice job on the knife tip. And the hand milling was a nice touch 🙃 Nice restoration mate!
Magnifico trabajo Boris como siempre !!! Si estuvieras mas cerca te daria un cuchillo mio para que lo restaures. Te mando un saludo desde Montevideo-Uruguay 🇺🇾🇺🇾
As an avid collector of all things knives... your videos/channel makes me incredibly happy. Keep up the hard work, bro! Your effort 110% shows. I do have a question though. Would you ever consider restoring a knife for one of your subscribers? Could do a patreon with a lottery where it chooses one of your patreon members at random and your restore one of theirs? Just food for thought.
Hello Dustin, thank you kindly! I did that a few times actually before, logistics and so many rules kill all the fun. I do offer a membership on RUclips (not Patreon) and I could consider doing restorations there for the members 😉
Thanks! That was by accident. The guy was selling a big table and vise was included. So I asked to buy just a vise and he agreed. Local Norwegian website for ads...
Please tell me- is your hand powered grinding machine a single gear? Could I make a similar one from a bicycle pedal gear/hub as I am struggling to find one in my locality? Love your work and passion for restoration🛠️🪚🪛🔪❤️
Hei Ian! Thanks a lot for the support! I have several of them and the black one that I use often has one gear, and some other have multiple gears. You definitely could make one from bicycle. It can take several times to get it right but be patient! Good luck 🤞
I've seen a lot of your videos and I liked them all, so I don't know why I haven't given you a subscribe yet... So I'm fixing it and giving it to you now ;-) Thank you for awesome job :-)
Nice restoration. Trusty knife. Have you ever considered a pedal (pulleys and belts) system for your grinder? You will have both hands free. Just an idea.
You can do 1000 knife restorations and I will always watch each of it 😂😂 And finally!! THE DRILL PRESS!! I've been waiting to see it in action 😂 And now I'm gonna go see previous videos and see if you ever use a real hammer to hammer the blade inside the handle 🤣 Anyway, great work!
Many thanks Anisa, that is good to know! Many knives restorations will come 👍 I was so excited to try as well and first impression is better than I expected 👌
Look for an old fashioned treadle sewing machine. It has a table and a foot powered treadle that usually turns a sewing machine. Remove the sewing machine and put your grinder on it and it will turn it much faster and not use any power other than you. You’ll like it
Love your videos, but How do you find so many knifes? I always looking for some knife to make a restoration video but I never find one. Some advice? Perfect job by the way.
