Normal people: buys wheel to play Assetto Corsa, iRacing, Project Cars & Live for Speed
Me: BUYS WHEEL TO PLAY INITIAL D ARCADE STAGE
it's pretty fun to play Initial D arcade with a wheel.
But it's faster with the controller. @@
You think that's bad, I spent £3000 on a pc and I play Barony @*%$!ng hell
@@VegetableStudio for me it feels shitter with controller because its too unprecise and the deadzone cant be tolerated for
My first wheel was bought to play Need for speed porsche 2000.
After I gifted that game, I threw out the wheel (it was a cheap one, won it with some cereal promo code).
Well, I bought Need for speed porsche 2000 used about a month ago. And that is what got me to this video.
@Falbere! omg it u
Them initial d sounds fit very good

I can see that s13 in front the 86 in the rain man I see it with the music
my Logitech wheel is scared looking at this
This review was very detailed and was really what i was looking for. A clear explation of the behaviour of the two wheels. Thank you sir, you earned a new sub.
Thank you. So nice to find a "why" and not just a "what" comparison. Really the why is the point for anyone.
Now that is some quality video right there.
Really good job man. No unnecessary long intro. No cam talk about "your opinion", just summery of it on screen.
Specifications, raw data and impression all clearly separated.
That was a very good and informative video, I'm glad RUclips recommended me your channel

Bruh try fanatec
@@drakedrake9417 bruh id rather spend 1500-3000 bucks on my first car then a wheel setup
Obviously. I dont even have a fanatec lol.

Very good in-depth review, thanks for sharing your experiences with it!
I love your methodology. It makes your review very practical and insightful, with the extreme handling. It looks like the T300RS is efficient enough to come out as the better wheel, something I'd never realise by just looking at the specs. Although I do wonder if the T500RS would be even better with aftermarket mods
這部影片的質量真棒!!

Great review, even after 2 years. Super helpful, going to go with the T300RS GT.
好影片!写的跟我的使用感受一模一样!!
a lot of the complaints made about the t500 can be tuned out in the driver settings. they're really pretty comparable wheels other than the slightly older tech of the 500. both really good wheels. *cough* logitech *cough*
Excellent review and comparison!
My G27 cry in the corner =) Very nice comparison! Also Wangan Midnight music, make me want to rewatch that anime.
I have both and I prefer t500rs much more for drifting than t300. It's in my opinion more realistic with heavier "turn in" force and overall natural feeling in drift sims such as LFS and AC.
This!
I had both and i actually prefer the t300.. i think the t500rs was too big, ugly and too strong FFB
Would you know if the t500rs works on ps4?
@@koolestfridge5289 it does but not ps5
Good test 🏁
Big up for SIMRACER
I love my T300RS
Nice video! It would be cool to see the difference between the T300rs and the G27
Thanks mate, saved me some money here, going for the t300
as someone who has been doing autocross events and sliding my car for a while now i can say that the t500 has to be the most accurate budget wheel money can buy. even though it is not as smooth as the t300 you get more than enough information and the damping and amount of forces through the wheel is quite realistic to what i have experienced from most cars i have driven hard. even miatas fall under that.
are budget wheels anything under $600 now?
@@caliginousmoira8565 it seems that way 😅. crazy how much this space has changed in only a year since that comment.
@@caliginousmoira8565 if you're buying thrustmaster gear now you should probably be buying used imo. And with used prices I'd consider them budget
@@kjp-sy8uf But wouldn't buying a used thrustmaster be quite risky? With all the reliability complaints
I'm in the market for a TX
@@Ssh52 to be fair i haven't looked at any of the reliability complaints, this one i bought has had a cable repair and was working perfectly ever since. I'm willing to take the risk
Can you please do a comparison when you turn damper off completely? I know ppl will say that it wont make a difference because modern games decide when to apply dampening, not the wheel, but in case of AC, that setting does in fact matter. I can feel a huge difference on my T150 when i turn dampening off. It might just solve your problems where you felt the t300 is not fast enough
I wanted to buy T500RS , but bought the T300RS 'cause it was a little less expensive...Seeing this video makes me glad I chose the cheaper T300RS.
is it noisey when playing? like when in a quiet place does the t300rs sound loud? and how much does it sound then
@@GrandTheftAuto6_2025 It doesn't make much noise during playing, you can still hear it, but it isn't really disturbing.During long sessions you can hear the cooling fan kicking in, but even that isn't disturbing and doesn't last long. When the wheel is cooled down the fan stops. It makes the most noise when the wheel turns around to calibrate itsself before you start playing.I've had a Logitech before my T300RS and the Logitech was a lot more noisy...
Danny Geerts ok thanks! Im going to upgrade from my G29, it is very loud! Hope this one i quiet as you Said.
One more thing, do you have t300rs Ferrari edition or the ”standard” t300rs with rubbery texture?
@@GrandTheftAuto6_2025 The standard one.
If you want to be sure, do a search on you tube " comparrison T300RS vs G29" There are people who made video's about that. The Logitech wheel I had was an older and cheaper GT Drivingforce Pro.I don't know exactly how it compares to the G29...I believe it's still less noisy than the Logitech G29, but I don't really know the T300RS is that much better.I think the G29 and T300RS are pretty evenly matched. The T300RS steeringwheel is a little bit bigger, the gearpaddles are a little bit better and it has a bit more forcefeedback power. But I don't need that much force. At the highest ffb settings it hurts my hands after a while, certainly when you go off track and hit a wall.My ffb settings for GT SPORTS and Project Cars on PS4 are somewhere to the middle.Max ffb is to powerful and Min ffb is to weak. The biggest difference I believe is that the G29 is gear driven and the T300RS is belt driven...and that's what makes the T300RS less noisy and smoother turning
Really good, love the tests and the repetition, it's how scientists do stuff. I was going to criticise the harsh driving test but it was good as well. I use a G920 with the mvh studio f1 mod and it's passable, but I set the damper to 0% would love to see this comparison on these thrustmaster wheels with 0 damper (I know they are better than the 920, but I don't think I'm good enough for it to matter but the 920 isn't going to last forever). Great content, thorough testing. You have a new subscriber. Oh I use the G25 pedals on the 920, the brake pedal sucks on the 920.
I forgot to mention that I had already disabled the damper in AC through Content Manager. So it's 0 damper for both wheels.
The Initial d Soundtrack in this Video is Perfect
AWESOME drift soundtrack
I thought you did a very good job in your review however you need a way stronger mount for your wheels that is the problem you can't give any feedback regarding either wheel because those wheels are both moving far far too much
thanks, this was very clarifying
Would be awesome ir you post times witch each wheel.
I just ordered the VG310 at on and I think that will change the differences as far as dampening you can't have a happy we'll like the 500 comes with an expected to perform
When the eurobeat kicks in
わぁ…すごく丁寧な動画だ…
Honestly very detailed. I feel like if you put both at 50% or even 0 damper effect in the advanced thrustmaster setup the t500 may be a bit better for drifting compared to its stock counterpart with it being slow initially.
I remember when i had a g920 as my first wheel and the way it slammed back and forth whilst calibrating scared the shit outta me even though i knew it was designed to do so and wouldn't break. These are even scarier!
I had these and they would break your wrist/fingers easily if you’re not careful
Lol, that Fourth Stage BGM was on point

Nice comparison
Imagine buying a wheel to play Street Fighter V.
(Someone won EVO with that thing.)
Good video. T300 it is given how t500s seem to hold their value used.
Wow, your wheel stand moves a lot! Very noisy too. I have the GT Apex with the t300RS and it doesn't even budge. Great video though, I like my t300RS.
Nice test and using the Miku AMG
Good job bro
Thanks, made me make a buying decision
NIGHT OF FIREEEEEAAA
I have a 500rs and have always thought the 300rs used the same base as the 500 without the paddles so this was a real eye opener for me. Also I like how we use the same button for the handbrake.
I also used the R3 from the base as the handbrake 😄
The best 👍
The spinning noises satisfy me
In most cases you have said, that high damping is the main disadvantage, but it results from stronger motors in T500rs. Spring and damper settings can be decreased to get better feeling. IMO T500RS wins that comparison, especially in drift mode when faster rotation of the wheel helps to keep car under control. Great vid btw :)
You are correct... this wasnt a realism test at all... no real car will ever drive like a t300rs.
"Spring and damper settings can be decreased to get better feeling"
That will have basically zero effect on AC FFB and precisely zero effect while driving. See my response on one of the other comments for longer explanation why that is.
@@bryan2009 so the t500 is more realistic and good for drifting ?
@@Case_ so the t500 has the more realistic feeling for details and stuff to drift ?
@@jamilchouya5640 thats not what I said... Personally i feel the t500 performance was better, but still nothing like a real car.
What settings do you use for the T500 in AC? In the config menu and in-game? I cant get mine to feel smooth.
T500rs was and still is a badass wheel !
thank you
I have the TX Base fr two Years nd love it every Day!
Does yours make a slight humming noise from the power supply? On the right side of the base?
@@SIMRIG412 Only what I can hear is the Ventilator and there is not to loud, but their is on the upper Side right.
And the Belt is very smeltie in hard Race Times, but this Rubber Smelt give it a little Touch of Realitie.(;
I got the T500rs because i liked the padells more than the ones of the t300rs and they were the same price
I want to begin drifting in ac, can you give me some advices, guides and where to find drift setups? Thank you
It matters which wheel fits you but direct drive is always the best
yeeez that stand cracks
Man that music tho. We want to hear how loud the wheels sound.
Was going to click subscribe but i forgot i subscribed to you already
Your rig makes a ton of noise clicking and banging sounds like it’s gonna break
After seeing you drift, I want to take the Supra for a slide with my G920
Could you link the track?
Here you go. ^ ^

How's gear noise? is it a deal breaker?
Looking back on this. Using a brushless DC motor in the t300 should have resulted in a recall. All the recalibration mess and failures that were caused by TM engineers failing to know that brushless motors MUST NOT BE USED IN SLIP MODE. The continued damage to the motor eventually resulted in my t300 ending up in a box in the basement, while the t500 wheel is fine years later.
This is evidenced in the first 10 seconds of this video as terrible drift during auto calibration. Amazing. SMH
I shall accept this kind of review because im about to end my CO TROLL DRIVING DAYS AND GONNA DO SIM RIGS BUILDS aluso sure ill scale my expectations before buying the 300RS i watched this for sources
No reason to YELL!
@@billygames7107 ah just a type o
My Logitech’s shaking in its gears (literally)
I want a thrustmaster tx sooo badly

The dampering on the t500 wich gives unpredictible oversteer can be adjusted with setting right or ?
mate, ngl you opened my eyes
the damping issues and the guesswork involved when using the t500 really mess with your sideways driving
i always believed the higher rotational speed and force helps the drifting but i now see those things only really help with lock to lock situations and no "actual driving" (catching slides or being playful on shuto)
guess ill fix up my t500 with some mods for now and start saving for a dd wheel
I got my own DD wheel recently. (Simagic Alpha)
The ability to freely set the damping to match the real life experience while not loosing the details, responsiveness and speed really impressed me.
You can check my recent videos to see how it performs. ^ ^
good bbb!!!
I'm in a predicament at the moment Ive been planning to get the t300rs with a playseat on Monday as I want to get into sim racing Ive got 1000s of hours of experience on the controller so I kinda know what's what... However if I wait one more month I can get the fanatec csl elite wheel and pedals but I don't know if its really worth it for me as a "wheel" beginner :/ I feel like I should proba ly start off with the entry level wheel (t300rs) then move up when I'm more comfortable? What do you guys recommend?? Any t300rs users out there wish they could of got the fanatec??? Or are you just as happy with the thrustmaster???
Never tried CSL Elite before, but CSW V2.5 is better than T300 in every aspect according to my experience.
Although I would go for direct drive wheel for a significant performance leap when considering upgrade from my T300.
The Devil Z on the T500RS, it steered unpredictably just like in the anime XD
You even used the same song! XD
Making content with T300RS the best wheel I have tried for the price!
at the end of the video, the way the engine rev'd, tells you how Devil Z always keeps going faster.
Is a disk required? Cause I don’t have a disk „input“ (don‘t know the English word)
You should check out the videos how to mount your wheelstand; looks like to break any minute :-)
It's just that bad. So I switched to a full-size rig.
Why not use the pedals that come with the wheel?
Whats that clicking noise? ive got the T300 Alcantara and prefer it to the T500 although i like the fixed paddle changers on the T500 and its pedals
The clicking noise was from my unstable wheel stand...>
So what should I get g29 or t300 rs gt, both used for the same price??
T300
Yu really good at deju vu
pro tip: you can use the th8a as a anolog handbrake
트러스트마스터 T300 페라리 레이싱 휠 샀는데 어때요? 내일 오긴하는데 좋아 보이네용 기대됨 ㅋㅋ
My focus is on the in-game gloves at the extream handling part (e.g. 9:00), hope I can get one in real life, its cool!

What wheel stand do you use? This video was so well put together you definitely convinced me to purchase a T300. Will probably look around for a good condition used T300 GT edition since I plan to use it on GT Sport and get back into Assetto Corsa. I had a G920 before and sold it because I really hated how it drove :(
I was using Apiga AP2 wheel stand in this video, but I don't recommend it, since it's unstable and makes annoying cracking sound.
BTW, I'm using Next Level Racing GT-Track now, quite solid but takes up much more space.
Shit, if this were my video:

Hell, I still need to learn how to drive a manual transmission. Fundamentally, yes, I know how and can comprehend the process but I need to physically do it v.s. me using my paddle shifters or rigging my flight stick to act as a sequential shifter and binding my brake pedal to the clutch. I got it to work on PC2 but I had some problems with AC trying to setup the flight stick as a shifter.
What stand do you use for the steering wheel
How'd u get these initial d sound track I searched them up and I can't find any
Can you please share your drift settings for the T500? A friend of mine can't set it up properly

so thats how the first owner of the devil Z crashed
is the t500 very notchy compared to the t300 side by side? i used to have a t300 on my old setup and jist got a t500 and it seems super notchy, also gear driven feeling, cant say i remember the t300 feeling anything like this
whered you get the initial d sound effects?
I decided to choose the g29. Since I found a cheap one for $385 with a shifter for new. the t150 isn't a good option for around $312. The t300rs is $596. And the t500rs is $402 but used with a very unknown/shady seller. (Online shop in Indonesia).
Is the g29 I chose a good choice?
the extreme handling is based purely on YOUR skill... which means with someone good operating each of these they could have a success rate of 100%
Please write me your T300 steering feedback settings for drift
Is the highest price of t300 rs justified compared to g29? Do you feel the difference between 900 ° and 1080 ° in the drift?
IMO G29's rival is T150, T300's FFB is totally in the different level.
And the difference between 900 ° and 1080 ° is barely noticeable, since most drift cars in AC only have 900 ° steering lock.
I feel that this kind of thing is really subjective
I am also a drifter who uses T500RS. I started using GT5 (2012). I am a drifter mainly.
Until 2020/September, my T500RS is broken, I referenced some videos including this one,
So I bought a set of second-hand T300GT and started drifting. I was surprised that it was "bad". This is not what I wanted.
For me, the T300GT is an "unqualified" drift steering wheel, and the steering wheel returning to normal speed is simply not fast enough!!!
I used it helplessly for 2 months, and gradually got used to the drift of T300. Although it can drift, it is not fun enough.
So... I sold it and bought a second-hand T500RS. I am very fortunate to buy T500RS again.
T500rs doesent make a lot of noise right?
Cuz im looking for a wheel that isnt really plastic but more like leather and doesnt make a lot of noise
how large are the steering deadzones?
What’s best settings using the thrustmaster t500 r/s
R.I.P my T500rs😢
