That wall where the water pipe comes down is crying out for a lean-to greenhouse. I would also use that area for a shed and storage. Also, it’s not a bad thing because some plants do like a bit of shade, so all in all it gives you options that other plots out in the open don’t have, it would have been my number one choice, I think you did really well. 👍🇬🇧

Hi there, a big job ahead of you, little & often is the best way! You might think about adding some more pipe to the downpipe for your water collection, if your going to get a shed use some of the slabs for your base! You should ask the owner of the allotments do they get any skips to put your rubbish & rubble in! Good luck

All allotments take time to come together big or small, you will get there in the end then just fly through.
That foldable watering container is great if you don't mind where did you get it from? as for that pipe personally i would get a ladder and check the pipe is ok, perhaps take it apart at a join and see if it's not blocked, also maybe connect another bit of pipe to it to divert it more closer to the container instead of splashing onto it.
One last thing see if you can somehow attach the water container to the wall with some eye hooks and string, to stop it falling over when there's a strong flow of water heading into it. Take Care.

Thanks. The water container is from eBay ( Rainwater Tank Water Butt Container Garden Collector Collapsible 250L-38OL-750L) that's the description. Cheapest I have seen them and they hold alot. Great idea to tie it down didn't think of that.
Will have a try make it more direct into the container
I think I will have to check the pipe does look like some stuff in it. Thanks

😢 blinded by the sun what a horrible thing to have 😅😅 it’s absolutely pouring here. Definitely not human 🤭 but most likely fox. Great idea to use some of those slabs but yes they are heavy. You are definitely ticking the jobs off the middle back fence or corner back should be best 👍. Have an amazing weekend and happy gardening 👩‍🌾, Ali 🌦️🌦️🇨🇦

Are you going to add to the pipe leading to the water tank? At the moment a light rain will trickle into the tank opening, but if you get a downpour it will spurt with force past the tank and onto the ground.

Yea think I will. It has collected alot of rain water since I put it up 2 weeks ago and is nearly half full. I need to go up when it really raining see if it goes in or misses.

The water butt needs to be raised high enough so you can get a watering can underneath.

Be mindful that tomato feed is great for flowering and fruiting but in the early days plants need to concentrate on root growth and growing leaves. The healthier the root system the more flowers/ fruits you will get.
I use a mixture of seaweed and blood, fish and bone. If I'm planting out then the blood meal in the hole and around the base and the seaweed twice a month (diluted). Then once the plants are properly established and start to flower then start with some tomato feed.
Just keep in mind liquid feeds are like crack. Quick fixes for plants. You want to encourage roots to spread and search for the nutrients and water.

The water collection, compost, and strawberry tower are so neat! I love your comment at the end: "We'll see. I'm just learning." I'm looking forward to watching your progress. I wonder if an inexpensive screen could help you sieve the soil of some of the debris? We have a half a foot of snow here in Syracuse, New York!

I loved the strawberry tower when I found it. Think with gardening it's always a learning process each year is different .I think I need something like that to get rid of all this debris it's a big job. O wow we have had snow once this year in Newcastle England and it didn't even stay on the ground.
