I like the way you tell how to do stuff, no fancy talk and easy to understand. Good camera work to
After building cars and bikes for over 30 years I never thought of this. Very cool!
@Twist Hetrick it's crude by design. On his builds, it is perfect and achievable by damn near anyone! Flawless bodywork can be very discouraging for a garage build, and actually stalls a lot of projects, sometimes indefinitely. This guy gets projects finished and has fun with it!
Just wanted to say thank you, I'm a metal fabricator and it's hard for me to get motivated to put the work into something but every time I watch your videos you inspire me to start a new project or to go mess with more material. I just wanted to let you know I appreciate all your hard work, expertise and willingness to share. When I started welding any welder I spoke to for a little guidance only would tell me I'm not a babysitter or it's not their problem. I've been welding for 14 years now and I couldn't imagine how much better of a fabricator I would be If I Had You coach when I started. Thanks again love ya man.
That is such a kool ratrod 47 was a good year for all the old truck. Enjoying watching and catching up to all ive missed . Even had my wife watching 😃
Now, I wonder, if you lay down satin turquoise/blue-green instead of black and then go over it with copper paint instead of silver, would it look like oxidizing copper, verdegris? Would give it a real steampunk look. Thanks for sharing all of your tips and tricks, Bob. Really enjoying this truck build series.
I did a chop top on a 50 chevy truck cab in the 70s, would have been cool and easy to use this technique. You are an artist. Good work.
That trick using the denim with mineral spirits and silver paint to patina the black paint was genius! I’m in the process of watching all your videos on this truck and loving it!
You’re a true artist, Bob! Thanks for showing your secrets.👍 Tony B
I like it too! The Frankenstein look.
It's a good look 🧌

Bob. Just found your very clever idea, great teaching job, great paint and thinner ideas. Great job and video. Thank you
Hey Bob. I guess your "keeping us in stitches"! Ya, youre gettin it. Gettin it good! Thanks Bob.
Thanks Bob! I got an ole '67 Chevy C20 long bed pickup truck that I've been busy working on. Its an old work truck and I've always wanted to patch up some spots on it and after watching your videos. You gave me an idea of what to make the patch work look like. Once I get the sheetmetal to work on it. I'll send pictures of it. I'm not going to restore the truck back to orginal because of money but I now know what I can do to it to make sure that it's a one of a kind truck to me. Thanks again for your inspiration Bob! Thanks again for Quincy Illinois USA.
Sr. Bob, soy un artista Argentino, mis respetos totales, mi admiracion, mis mejores deseos, y un gran, gran GRACIAS.

Love that stitch look, that paint trick makes it over the top nice. I just picked up a old ford cab that would be perfect for a stitch chop like this. This is something I would like to try, thanks for the show how on your know how. Can't wait to see it come together. Thanks Bob.

You say you are not a big patina fan, but i bet this method looks so much better over patina than a clean finish any day ! Great tip about welding out and then back over itself on the fugly sections... gotta try that one ! Great days to ya Bob !
Welding over rusty junk is an art form. LOL

I'm beginning to think that it's "Too Far-to-Go" for you!!! Is your knee still jacked up? Time to get out the Rocker and get back into the shop and get to Rocking it out!!!
Let's go getter done!!!
@@rockerpat1085 Hey Buddy Pat. My knee is getting a bit more movement. I have been doing some chores around the house and I can work for about 3 hours before my leg gets too sore to stand on anymore. My plan is to go to the wrecking yard next week and get some parts to connect my alternator and get a radiator and start back out in the Dog House early November. I have to check my videos to see what you said about removing the Regulator and solenoid. And what do I do with the extra wires???🎸🤠👍
Hell yeah!!!!!.....such a artist 😎✌
Hey, wait a minute? you're say'n that it's OK to expose the bones of the body work? Love it!
