Looks like a WW2 plane with the exhausts just sticking out, lovely looking build Bob.
The Paint of jaws too looks like
instablaster
😲it's starting to remind me of a P-51 mustang... So badass!!
Bob: Looks good and sounds good too !
You and Red should start a garage band.
Hell yeah looking like a spitfire next up the lights!
I really like the musical intro! Red can carry a beat! Glad to see the flames out the pipes!
Frugal, plus genius metal fab, make for a super cool, one off rat rod....Love it!
Hello from Forest Grove Oregon. I used to resole my old boots with contact cement and chunks of old bias ply tire. Throw a few screws in there and I was good to go. Trouble was, after a few hundred miles of walking, the inside of the boot wore out. There ain't nothing like walking on screw tips to remind you that sometimes a dollar spent is well spent!
That's some P51 exaust for sure!!!
Looks awesome and sounds COOL!!!!
Keep Rocking it out Bob and Red!!!
This channel is so awesome! ......... Thanks Bob ........ ;-)
Digging the new intro and music, interesting to see how she run with the pipes like that on a dim night haha Badass
I know it's not possible for everyone, but I found it helps to have an old set of heads for doing this. Bolt the flange to the head and weld it up. Helps to keep it from warping. ESP on those flanges you buy. They are kinda light on the material. Great Vid Bob, as always.
Love it, love it, love it.
You make my day with every one of your Rat Rod updates.
Thanks for sharing your builds.
I'm waiting on my check too.
I like it Bob. Nice job 👍 Are you adding baffles? I was told that short head pipes causes valves to burn 🧐 anyone else heard that?
I hope you live to be an old old man. Cause I want to keep watching Rat Rod Bobs videos.. long live Rat Rod Bob !
I loved what you said , [ Am not happy with China at the moment ] LOL . Us Australian feel the same where on your side dont want to buy nothing from China .. Anyway the Ratrod sounds tuff with short headed and looking Kool .
Awesome Bob love following along and seeing your progress
I didn't know Red had a musical ear... job well done.
dint know Red could hold anything but broom
So you guys never seen him playing the guitar?!!?
@@RatRodBobBuilds Has Red ever played the One-String Diddley Bow? ruclips.net/video/nreCw94lxPU/видео.html
Hey Bob, I know you are a bare metal guy but I have to say, the eyes and teeth painted on like the A10 airplane and old fighter planes would look amazing with those side exit pipes
Might have to sneak that in there anyways!
@@RatRodBobBuilds, I think it would look awesome, many others might agree
Reds getting better! Sounds wild! Hang in there Bob!
Pretty sure that "M" motor takes the same distributor as the Cleveland and if that's the case you can use 429-460 distributor too.
Red's a hell of a drummer!
HI BOB...stick with points, those $50 distubuters will leave u on the side of road everytime.
Diggin those Zoomies! Sounds good too. Hey you said you hoped it was a flame thrower, looks like to me like you got it. Dont catch the overalls on fire tinkering around, keep em comin bob watchin and learning.
Nice work Bob. Just keep your eye on Red looked like his right foot was twitchin.
KAG .
LOVE the pipes! Sounds great!!
Good job with the header flanges Bob. Two flanges in 4 hours is fine with all the cutting, grinding, drilling and sanding required. You might try a home made transfer punch on the bolt holes next time :)
Those inner headers flanges are freakin beautiful Bob! Man that thing is cool and clean lookin
The rattlely rat rod!. Great work Bob.
Success!!! Its always nice to hear them run for the first time. I can't wait to do that to mine. Stay healthy Bob.
Love those first starts. Sounds good
Your rat rod header welds are beautiful.....they have character !!! Varooom
lookin' GOOOOD Bob! You too Red.
The truck is becoming a real work of art .. Rat Rod style!
Awesome Bob!! Thanks for sharing my friend.
Great video Bob, She's Alive!
Sounds pretty good Bob. Good luck getting that check for those goodies
Well it works like it is ... so probably gonna go with that. Since I spent a whole day wiring that mess up!
thats a good way of joining the hoses never thought of that
You inspire me sir! Thank you I’ve been binge watching your videos
Cool ... now get to work! LOL
Bob. I am inspired by what you are doing. Thank you for the inspiration and motivation to be creative with what you have!
Coming along great Bob. Love those low slung rat rod pickups !!!
She purrs like a kitten, keep on trucking Bob.
Looks great Bob! Love the enginuity, or call it frugal, doesn't matter bcuz it work! Keep up the old school ways.
Awesome Bob, y'all be safe and have a BLESSED Easter. :-)
Well done Bob and Red.
Timing marks are on the side of the balancer with that radiator. If you change the bottom radiator inlet to the driver's side it will simplify your bottom hose and let you read the timing marks.
I"m liken the school of rat rad ology! Pretty cool pipes Bob
Thank u rat rod bob and red for the awesome videos. I really enjoy watching
Our pleasure!
Man you comin along the 47' !! I think old Red prolly make a good drummer.... Great video brother thanks so much!
Points is the way to go in my opinion and I was born in the days of the Electronic Ignition but I think points are awesome they will always get you home unlike a electronic junk
Bob l think that is just the berrys..l am loving it...O'man that thing sound.....Super good....You are the best Bob...Thanks for sharing your life with me and others....Brother...Stay safe Bob....!
Nice bob the one wire ignition and alternator is a very good idea

That thing gets sexier everytime i see it, awesome job Bawb...im diggin red on the drum :)
I'm a big Ford fan loving this build
Appreciate cha and your live music entro with Red there!
GOOD STUFF TO HEAR THE RAT TRUCK RUNNING YOU HAVE CAME UP WITH IDEAS FOR A WHAT YOU CALL A CHEAP BUILD I TAKE MY HAT OFF TO YOU BOB I WISH WE COULD BUILD A RAT TRUCK OR ROD HERE IN NSW AUSTRALIA NOT A CHANCE WE COULD BUILD AND DRIVE REGO ANYTHING LIKE IT ON OUR ROADS HERE GREAT VIDEO LOOKING FORWARD TO WATCHING THE NEXT ONE. KIND REGARDS CHRIS S NSW AUSTRALIA.
Ha haa ... since moonshining days ... we here in the Southern USA live on the edge of danger. LOL Probably not gonna drive it very far anyways! Mostly a conversation piece at the car shows.
Nice shoes, I do the same thing. Welding is coming along. Truck is looking good and sounding great Bob!
Nice build Bob. Maybe you should also invest in a starter button.. It would look cool driving down the road at night...
For this one .. gonna make my own starter button. Stay tuned.
Those short pipes scared that noise right outta there.
Ha haa... now all I need is a little tire smoke to get the rest of the bad stuff out. LOL
Really coming along nice. Was great looking set of header flanges.
Love the intro Bob, you and ole RED sound good together. Nice job on making the headers and it sounds great.. I'm with you on the good old point distributor to..
Don't you love it when it comes TOGETHER !!! THANKS BOB & RED !!
My Chinese HEI has run great for a year until I noticed last week that the center lug on the cap that contacts the rotor was worn completely down. I dont know how it even made contact, but it ran. So I switched the center post out with a AC Delco center lug from a delco cap. I also noticed they built in a safety mode for overrev. If you wind it out too high, the module shuts off the distributor. You just restart the motor up. If you buy a 1 wire alternator, make sure you get the one that charges at low RPM's. Some alts have a minimum RPM they will charge. Mine is for a tractor on my Chevy 355.
The intro made my day,, Thanks bob
First start is always nice. Fire it up!
You got that right!
Great stuff Bob !! Thank you !! Be safe my friend and God bless you and yours. !!!!!! Eddy
Bob you building this Rat Rod just as many would have to build, on a shoe string budget.. This gonna be a Gooood Lookin Rat Rod anyone would be proud to drive.....:)
I had a 351M in a 1979 F150. It was a great engine, but I played hell getting the correct parts. Napa got me three set of headers before we found a set that fit.
Miss that old girl.
She sounds real good, Bob, and those stubby pipes look, just right! If you’re interested, I made a video on my channel about rolling beads on tubing with a Woodward Fab bead roller. All you need to add, is a washer. At the end of the day, it won’t work any better than your weld beads, though.
Nice work on those header flanges! 👍 Tony B
It is starting to look good
so awesome!
brother had a 70 ranchero with a 351 windsor with a shaker hood scoop hot little truck
That's one day rat rod I would buy
You said that it ain't purrty Bob. It is too purrty! 👍😋
That thing looks great.
WWII fighter plane sounds...........perfect
That's what I was after. P51 Mustang or something!
Nice. It is a runner.
Awesome Bob!!! It’s alive!!!!
LOVE THOSE PIPES
They allso make them for threaded holes like set screws with points an little hexed so you can put then in and out . Die makers tricks , also make a huge center punch to open up the spots and you will never miss.. Chuck
If you stick with Dura Spark you have to have either a resistor wire or a resistor for the coil in the run position of your start switch. Otherwise you will fry the coil in about 45 minutes. I found out the hard way. Your ride is looking good.
Thanks for the info!
👍👍 Give me a set of points any day, simple is good!
artnewland Extra points and condenser in the glovebox= good to go in 5 minutes on the side of the road. Let’s see the computer boys top that.
Funny thing,Red looks like Ringo Starr back in his recreational days..
Ha haa ... it took a second but that was a hoot! LOL
Great exhaust setup.
Looking good Bob, glad to see the progress on the rat rod. Getting closer to burning the tires. Thanks for the update.
That's a really good distributor put a msd box on it works great we run one on r race car makes about 670 hp
That is Class ! Take it easy Bob all the way from the UK
Points will do .just a little more cold natured.
Stay safe and Happy Easter. Truck is looking good.
Nice job. Thank you.
I've been trying to catch up on all of your videos, , I really enjoy watching them and hearing your stories about your past and what not. One thing on those boots , when they get worn down ... Try taking the steel toe out of them , it's a great shape for a small air scoop or whatever you might need it for.. Just a thought. Hope you have a good weekend, , tell Red I said Hello !!
Hi. You have a nice project coming along there. Are you planning on using the engine driven AC compressor to fill up the air system?
Yep!
@@RatRodBobBuilds that is great. I can't wait to see you working on it. I want to install the same type of set up on my truck.
I like your work and appreciate your videos. I learn a lot from you.
Awesome! Thank you!
No Springs ,?? The Air Conditioner ,,,is a nice touch!!!!
For a second there I thought you were going to do a "how to" on repairing those old boots... I'm pretty sure you'd be able to do so
Very cool Bob! Thanks for sharing!
Nice sir very nice a work of art sounds evil too thanks for sharing 👍
I THINK A POINT DIST FROM A 400 OR A 460 WILL WORK ALSO. 351 C OR 351 W IS SHORTER. HOPE THIS IS HELPFUL
great cab angle 👌
That style of exhaust is what I was trying to convince ole Waylon Wire to do...looks better on your truck anyway. Gives it a very P41 Mustang feel! I have like no clue what I'm doing with motors and electricity anyway -- but reading the Chilton's Manual I have for my Fairmont on the Duraspark distributor has me more confused than before I started! Don't blame ya.
Looks and sounds great 👍
