Karina, this is such a lovely dress made out of gorgeous fabric. You look so beautiful in it, perfectly made. I enjoyed your video and found your descriptions and explanations easy to understand. I love the tie done in the black contrasting color and it worked just perfectly for the facing too. Very smart problem solving. One would never know or care that this is not the exact directions given in the pattern.
Thank you for being so detailed. I bought this pattern a few days ago. I love your channel and was very excited to find that you tested it. Construction will be much easier now that I’ve watched.
Your videos are always so informative. I’d love to learn to do a bust adjustment on a wrap bodice. As an aside, I feel if companies use your extensive expertise to improve their patterns by acting as a tester, the least they can do is give you a stipend for fabric and notions.
Thank you so much 😊. I do get paid by some brands for pattern testing and for others, no. Sometimes there’s a gift card to get patterns from the same brand... and yes I agree. It’s a skilled service that should have compensation. This is why I hand pick my projects and only commit when I really like the style.
Beautiful dress Karina and a lovely fit. I am right there with you on the 3”difference between high and full bust. Seeing your thought process always helps us visual learners. Yes a video showing bust adjustment on this style of dress would be great. Thank you 😍
Very well done! You look stunning in this dress. The black ties accentuate your waist, it’s flattering. I’m a newer follower of you and I love your explanations. I also just bought this pattern and I’m very happy you made this dress and filmed this, I’ll be reviewing again before I make it.
Thank you for this! I had been googling reviews for this pattern and yours showed up, so informative! I am planning to make it as a maternity dress and was also so surprised at how much fabric it consumes! So much for going through my stash, but I do love your idea of using another fabric. The black actually looked so good with your fabric choice! I am actually Brazilian and love your homage to your temporary home!
Excellent video, your dress is perfect.I really like your fabric choice.I always need to pin and would love to see an FBA on this type of bodice. Thank you for showing this new pattern so well I know so much hard work goes in to making these videos..😃
Such a very detailed review, brilliant, I am making this now and the tip about interfacing the waistband is very useful as my fabric is very flimsy too. 👌🏼👍🏼
YES! Please talk about Dolman sleeves and Full Bust adjustments. I love your videos - You do a terrific job at explaining difficult techniques. Thanks!
This dress fits you beautifully! Clearly you know how to adjust for your body and the result is lovely. I am going to go watch your video on bra cup sizes vs sewing cup sizes right now:-).
Gorgeous dress! FBA adjustment on a dolmanpattern? Yes please! I have the same dilemma and and usually regret 'going larger' losing out on a good general fit.
I too am not a fan of fabric hungry patterns. I do like the small pleat details. Your dress looks great on you!! That would interesting to see what a BA on a dolman style
Your dress is beautiful. I have just brought the pattern but after watching your vlog am sure I brought the wrong size. And I can't pay another $22 aus to re purchase it. But I am so glad I know, it would have lead to huge fitting problems:(. Thank you for this very informative vlog
I would love to learn how to do a full bust adjustment to a dolman sleeved bodice. Or maybe you have already filmed one. Love your instruction videos. I have learned so much from you. Thanks for sharing your awesome talents with us.
Yes, Yes, Yes, I would like to see a full bust adjustment w/a dolman sleeve!! Really liked this pattern and your fabric was great! It looked very pretty on you too.
I don't know if someone already suggested, but you could just sew a little snap in there and then you wouldn't have to keep putting holes in the fabric with pins. It looks great.
Love this dress on you! I'm a big fan of wrap dresses, but yeah ... not so much on a windy day. I'd probably feel I had to wear a half slip ... but it is so pretty. Funny that they had both ties the same length 🙄🙄🙄 That pattern would make a darling, peplum type of wrap top, too. Thanks for sharing this, Karina ... what a lovely souvenir. 💚💚💚
I made a real wrap top just before this dress and it surprised me the ties were the same. In testing those things can't be changes but I will when I make it again.
@@LiftingPinsandNeedles I'd love to see your fixes! Maybe when they're the same length you can choose how to overlap, right over left or left over right???? Anyway would be nice to see your change, if you do. 🌼🌼🌼
Hi Karina, in general when a back bodice has a straight seam, can you do it on the fold instead, ( only on a straight seam I mean, not shaped obviously) ? The dress is lovely, I think some patterned fabrics can take a solid colour, I think it gives it an extra wow factor x
Do you have the correct measurement for the bust on the 14-30 draft? The inch measurements on that draft is almost the same as the other one and the waist is a lot larger than the bust on that draft. I would like to make this dress though- so I’m hoping it was just a printing error and not something I will have to make adjustments on the pattern. -SusN
I’d recommend against doing that. The serging in itself will stretch the fabric on the edge. Stay stitching is done within the seam allowance and close to where the sewing will de done on that area.
Beautiful dress but I really dislike it when pattern companies split the sizing over two cups. Sew over it are the same. The assumption that only larger sizes ladies need above a B cup is so wrong.
I can list so many brands doing this now that they are doing a wider size range..... it's like it's become the "norm" somehow. However, there are the golden pattern brands that do individual cup sizes and that is more helpful.
@@LiftingPinsandNeedles Agreed. I will always for brands like Itch to Stitch in preference. If I'm going to have to make a lot of adjustments it has to be a really unique pattern. Xx
I’ve wanted to do a FBA on several dolman styles recently, even the knit ones :) This pattern does have a D cup option, so the fit should be ok in that draft.
It has its numerous steps, and they did make sense to me because the finish is clean inside. There are always faster ways but they don't always turn out very neat.
Looks great on you! Love the fabric! Well done! X
Yes please. A bust adjustment and a raised neckline adjustment for this wrap dress. Thank you
The FBA will raise it because it will cross over a little higher :)

You did a great job, the dress looks lovely! Please show the bus adjustment for the Dolman sleeves, I'd love to learn how to do this!
The dress is nice. I like the idea of pleats instead of a bust dart. Thanks for sharing.
Me too. I always enjoy dart equivalents, they look cool :)

Thanks for sharing. I think the contrast belt ties look lovely -it’s a design feature 😀
yes, would like to have tutorial on both bust adjustments. Your tutorials are very easy to follow
Yes please on the Dolman full bust adjustment. I am 6" difference
For a 6”, the D cup bodice would be best as the base for the adjustment. I’ll plan to film this.
@@LiftingPinsandNeedles thank you

I love living here a lot!
Such a pretty dress. I love the black tie too, it is a nice contrast to your fabric. Looks great on you!
I didn't have a choice and I'm always open to things like that to get the dress from the fabric I have on hand :)

I will plan a video on the FBA. The pin is inevitable, but I'd love the crossover to be a tad better :)
Lovely dress, I love that fabric!

Yes, yes yes! Dolman full bust adjustment!! I just bought the pattern, and I will need to do one!
I know I will film it, but it won't be tomorrow :)
YES! Please talk about Dolman sleeves and Full Bust adjustments. I love your videos - You do a terrific job at explaining difficult techniques. Thanks!
The less fabric, the better. The climate is not cool enough where I live. Thanks to your experience, you always make the patterns work well.
Thank you! 😊 for me, the lighter the fabric the better too :)
I love the dress. I think the black tie adds a nice accent and the fabric is lovely.
Thank you so much 😊. I was pleased I had some black fabric to do this with :)
Very nice. I love the fabric and it looks great on you. I also love the sound of all those birds in the background.
Lovely dress on you and the colour are beautiful
Thankies :)
Would like to see the dolman fba.😊
Totally enjoy all of your videos! It's a joy to see how informative they are.
Glad you like them!
I love to see the bust adjustment on the Dorman style. Thanks for this video!
The fullness in the skirt is very becoming. Great fabric!
Thank you! this is the fullest I like on a skirt :)

I totally agree! Too much room will make the style sloppy in my opinion. I will plan to film this :)
Your dress looks awesome on you. Very pretty. 😊
Thank you so much 😊
You look beautiful in this style! I think it's worth the amount of fabric and the FBA. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this design.
I know I can sew it with a bit less, so that at least relieves the "hives" I get when I use more than 2 meters he he
Would really like the full bust adjustment for a dolman sleeved dress. I would probably need to do that for this dress. 👍
Yes , yes, please ! I would love to see how to do a FBA on the dolman sleeve top. I love your videos , I learn so much from you. Thankyou.

It’s a cute style and if I find the right fabric on sale, I’ll make it again 😊. I was almost hyperventilating with the fabric required.
It looks just lovely.

Oh adorable...it fits you well. Makes me wish I was taller. I'm not very good at petite adjustments and yes please on the bust adjustment tutorial .
Unfortunately, I am always lengthening things and can't replicate petite adjustments on myself. I will plan the FBA video :)

I love this dress. I’ve been eyeing it up for months now and I have the ideal fabric for it. Maybe it’s time to take the plunge and buy it. 😌
So pretty on you!
I would love to see how to do the full bust adjustment. 😊 I fall into the C cup also.
Cute, like always, what you pick is nice
Thank you! 😊

Ooo! I love the midi with a longer sleeve! I may have to grab this pattern.

Can you link to the video where you demonstrate how to attaché the (back) facing to the shoulder seam as your mention here in this video (12:54)?
Even if the contrast ties weren't your preference, they look good, it's a beautiful dress
Wonderful Video! Would you recommend interfacing the waist pieces for a cotton fabric?
Yes, for any fabric. They will be holding the weight of a pretty full skirt, so I wouldn’t skip it.
@@LiftingPinsandNeedles Thank you so much! Great advice!

For sure you can cut on the fold if there is no shaping in the center.

Can you serge fabric edges to stay stitch? It seems like I could save some time that way. What do you think?
I’d recommend against doing that. The serging in itself will stretch the fabric on the edge. Stay stitching is done within the seam allowance and close to where the sewing will de done on that area.

👌👍👏👗
this has to be my most hated sew ever, the waist band and tie attachment are over complicated and very frustrating. I will never make another one

yes please ♡
