Absolutely stunning! 🤩💖 The fabric, the design, and the way it hugs your body. What a stunning pattern I have deemed as a bit plain before... I couldn't have been more wrong 💋🌺😍🥰
I am making the Allie Olson Highlands Wrap Dress...the first time I've made a wrap dress. I have made some changes to the pattern that I know I have to do...lower the bust dart for one...but I'm making the dress as a hip-length top for a wearable toile just to make sure the fit is right. It looks to have good coverage as well across the front. I'm also going to make longer sleeves...possibly from the Love Notions Rhapsody blouse...with an elasticated wrist. Good fun experimenting. Your dress looks lovely. Beautiful fabric.
Your dress looks stunning. I made the Elodie a few months ago and wrote a blog post for Felicity Fabrics. @lyonsmadewithlove I came across the same issues as you did with the waistband and it was so frustrating. One hack I made was to add a full facing to the wrap over of the skirt as I didn’t like the reverse of e fabric on show. This worked really well.
Gorgeous Kristen! I love the print and colour of your fabric. I recently made myself a full length Elodie with the elbow length sleeve and I love how elegant it looks in a drapey rayon! It somehow makes me look taller as well. Your garden is looking wonderfully autumnal! 😊
Kristen, I loved your dress and the fabric was reall gorgeous!! Can you please tell me again what type of fabric it is tat Minerva sent to you as I would love to see the other colors and purchase some for make a dress also. Please keep making videoa asI learn so much from you and enjoy watching your channel. Your creativity, knowledge, compassion, friendship and enthusiasm gives all of us so much pleasure. Thank you, take care and be safe.
Oh thanks so much Jeanne! Your comment has just made my day! I’m so lucky to have such beautiful viewers like yourself! If you like this fabric I’ve actually linked it in my description box underneath the video! Just drop down the description box and you’ll find the like! Have a beautiful day ❤️
Lovely dress Kirsten and that fabric is beautiful. I’m always a bit wary of wrap dresses. A. The front panels stretching and B. I’ve had a mastectomy and always worry about gaping. So don’t think it’s a pattern I’d be rushing to make to be honest.
I can definitely see why that would be a concern Lynn, I think most of the wrap dresses I have can be very hard to keep crossed over nicely! I must admit, I’m going for more practical clothes a lot lately!
@@thedahliasewciety i told one of my sewing friends, I felt like a celebrity 😃. I actually took the dress apart and added another panel as well as and an additional section to the waist band. It would be great for you to do a tutorial on the grading of patterns. I continue to struggle with this issue. I’m normally too lazy to do a muslin. But I think I might start. I will hashtag you when I post the revised version. I love the fabric I used so I really want to be able to wear it again comfortably. 😃
Hi Kristen, love the fabric and was wondering how you find the movement in the arms when you reach up. I made a Ravello dress by Sew over it which looks very similar and my problem with that dress is the sleeves are very restrictive. I’m thinking of recutting the grown on sleeve to a cap sleeve. What do you think? Is this dress better? Look forward to your vlogs. By the way, the Maple tree behind you is glorious!
Hi Lisa You won’t have this problem with the Elodie! There is so much room I’m the bodice and shoulder area, it’s very loose and drapey especially around the sleeve. It literally feels like your wearing a robe, very comfy ❤️
Hi, I didnt know where to write this, but your latest video about the Time Out Tank is private so no one can see it. The same thing happened to Loopy Mabel's Closet a day or two ago and I had to let her know too, so I don't know if You Tube has changed some settings, or what.
Oh thanks so much! Yes I accidentally posted it too early! The pattern is released tonight here in Australia tonight so it will be available to watch In a few more hours 👍
