i wouldn’t say the third act was problematic lol, it was a better reveal than 5… i think it was just a heightened homage to Scream 2’s killer reveal. overall this movie exceeded all of my expectations, i loved it.
Absolutely on the mark. The motive played out much better than 5.
Problematic in what way? I’m hearing that word for a lot of things nowadays. I haven’t seen the movie.
Scream 5 did it best out of these two for me although I prefer this movie altogether.
The third act was good imo
3rd act had a cop run at the girl and fall 20ft instead of just shooting her. You know, like Samantha just did to his daughter right in front of him. Anyone who gets stabbed in the 3rd act is immortal unless it's directly in the head. Tara got stabbed in the back and continued on like nothing. Then she gets stabbed in the stomach and still no big deal. Kirby got stabbed and they said we'll be back and just left her there lol. Before that the train scene was so good, except they rule the son out as a suspect with their own writing. His reaction to her getting stabbed and literally taking her to recieve care that saved her life screams he's not the killer. When Samantha stabs the cop all up at the end and is moving all around his body like she's tenderizing meat I just laughed. It got to be so outlandish. Who was the Ghostface that was brutalizing everyone the entire movie? Once the reveal came they all turned into idiots.

I got what I wanted out of it. The film was pretty intense and very brutal. Probably the most brutal in the series. The killer reveal wasn’t great, but most of the killer reveals in Scream aren’t all that good. All in all I thought it was a solid entry, hopefully they make another one.
I honestly loved this one. Thought the characters were better and more expanded upon from 5, kills were great, Kirby was utilized well. New York setting offered a new flavor. Really dug it personally. Looking forward to your full review.

I saw it twice tonight. I have to say that it actually had one of my favorite third acts of the franchise. I loved this film from start to finish.

I enjoyed it immensely I’m still a little shakey on the reveal and reasons but in no way did that hinder my experience! I’m gonna rank it 1-2-6-5-3-4
The opening and third act was good, I just wish it was more different in terms of kills
@@dvarrio8680 idk I was happy with the kills. When it comes to ghostface there’s only so much you can do. But I really like how knife happy he’s been in the past two films. He doesn’t just stab you he takes it our on you hard core 😂 I like that shit
@@michaelfarrer3044 Don't get me wrong? they were gory, just wish it was a bit more unique; I mean Michael Myers and Chucky both love to use knifes as well, they also uses different methods as well as different tools(objects) to use as a weapon to kill

Scream 5 and 6 really helped this franchise survive i think,and yes i love most of the scream movies
I honestly really liked it I liked it more than 5 and possibly more than 4 I need to rewatch it but I came out loving it. I loved how unique the opening was, the kills were definitely better than scream 5 like 3 stand out kills especially the first really gory kill of the movie, the killer reveal was pretty predictable except one it totally caught me off guard, i loved all the chase sequences/tense sequences like the store and ladder oof I was on the edge of my seat, I actually really liked the third act/motive too since it’s not at a house like scream 1,3,4,5 and the stuff the motive commented on I think is very true plus the other stuff with the motive can’t complain with. I think the new cast whether it being from 5 or the scream 6 cast I really liked them all especially Sam she got sm better in this movie. Once again keeping tradition of the most consistent franchise. For me it’s sitting at a 9/10 on par with the original and scream 2.
I saw it tonight and I actually enjoyed it much better than the last one people in my theater were clapping during different parts of the movie and seemed genuinely excited throughout the movie
They did this. They tried something different with this movie and I loved it! I even saw some people get mad at some of these changes but I f-ing loved them!
They filmed some of it in Montreal. I had the pleasure of being an extra in this movie. I still haven't seen it, but I'm planning to soon.
I loved this one. Extremely fresh and different (not Halloween Ends different) and they did a hell of a job not wasting any time
As a Scream fanatic who loved part 5, I have never been so disappointed in a movie. Glad to see most people like it though,

I loved it up until that final 20 minutes not only because of the meh Scream 2 mimic but because just about every death in the movie wasn’t actually a death lol
I hated Scream 5 but had a BLAST with this one! Currently third in my ranking :)

I loved this movie. My problem wasn't with the 3rd act as much as it was with people getting injured very badly and still be alive, able to talk, walk it off, etc. I can give it like once or twice, but this movie has way too many instances of this.
Interested as to why it’s problematic. I’ve seen it twice and I really enjoyed it. Will watch your full review when it’s up
It’s a weak Ending because they didn’t want to be there.
“A Nice American Family, they didn’t want to kill, but they didn’t want to die.” - That’s a little hint lol and you already know what movie poster that was taken from, almost like it was in the background of a previous scream film.
I loved this even more than the 5th. And maybe I’m alone, but I kinda love the third act
If I had to put it into analogy, Scream 6 was like watching a really talented figure skater absolutely nail it for most of her duration, but not before taking one bad turn and losing her footing... but she still manages to get back up and finish her set with grace.
The movie does indeed hit a decent size bump in the road in the third act, but still manages to get to its destination. Imo, it doesn't get derailed.

As a huge Scream fan, I'm glad Cody seems mixed on Scream 6, because some of his most wanted wishes for Scream 6 were terrible in my opinion. He wanted that people (basically, the fans) might get pissed getting out of the theathers because of those wishes and I'm glad to see that most fans left the theaters very well satisfied, while he is the one that got pissed :)
This movie wasn’t bad but it wasn’t good either. I can’t wait to see his review I know I’m going to agree on some of his points

I saw the movie last night and I did like it but the plot armor is just insane. Several of those characters would be in the hospital for weeks upon weeks without walking and one of them was up running around at the end.
It was very bad. Waste of time instantly. They literally remade the original second one💀 and people are raving about it. What a laughingstock..
“The original second one” wth is that lol. This is part 6. Is there two part 2’s? Lol
@@jeffcunningham0389 yup and it’s scream 6 lol. Go check it out. The wannabe version of Randy named Mindy even says that the killer wants to redo the events that occurred in the original second scream because they’re in college😂😆😆 it’s laughable

That 3rd act where everybody pulls an LL Cool J I was rolling my eyes and wanted to choke the "writers" haha
From hearing what other reviewers have said about this film, and how there were problematic sequences, etc. I expected to dislike this movie more than I did.
I thought overall it was a very solid entry, but this comes with the caveat that I don’t really expect much from the motives in these films; from my perspective, the motives are more or less formulaic at this point, and there’s probably nothing that will subvert my expectations in that regard. Knowing that going into this, I had a great time!
Part 4's ending subverted most peoples' expectations.
I think it’s the best scream sequel personally .

Just watched this - I thought it was dope AF! The end sucked but it awesome otherwise. 3rd best scream movie

Loved this one. Some of of the suspense Ghostface scenes of the entire franchise
You definitely have to suspend ALOT of disbelief in the 3rd Act (even more than normal). But my God this was a fun movie theatre experience. The audience cheered when Kirby first appeared on screen. Also Courtney Cox's big scene might be my favorite scene ever in any Scream movie. That scene rocked! Cox delivered! More than I've ever seen! You could have heard a pin drop in the theatre during that scene. Best Act 2 of any Scream movie. I would rank 2, 4, 6, 1, 5, 3 (I prefer the even numbered I guess).
This was 10/10 till the last 20 min typical scream but love it 8/10 7 maybe .
There were definitely things in this movie that when I came out of it, I thought “ooo Cody isn’t gonna be happy about this”. Lol
Same. I am not surprised on his opinion of the third act, but I can't wait for his video on it to come out to explain what his reasons are for not liking it.
I just knew it wasn’t gonna be good. They’ve been on a continuous slide since the third movie, even if the 4th was a “much better film” just by comparison.

I can see you ranking it above 5 and 3 but I have a feeling you're still gonna put 2 and 4 above it from your reaction and obviously the original is always gonna be the best. I still haven't seen it but I'm going to next week.

I went to check it out to do my ranking video and the 3rd act and I believe something eles we both wanted that didn't happen (no spoilers) kind of brought this one down for me but overall like all Sceam movies it's not bad,it's an ok slasher but didn't meet my expectations.
Maybe I'm by myself but I think scream 6 is one of the best in the franchise. Really I honestly think the first scream is the only one I'd put in front of 6.
So, if it means cody has a problem with the 3rd act. That just means I'll love it
I actually loved the 3rd act and was one of the best in my opinion. The opening I was not a fan of tho.

It was cool to see Cody and Cp in this short. It's my least favorite in the franchise hands down, I was not surprised by anything especially the reveals. If you are a huge fan of the movies then you will enjoy it alot.
For the most part I thought it was extremely solid and I enjoyed it throughout, but the third act is definitely the weakest part for me. But the positives far outshine the negatives once again.

this one was way better than the scream 5 for sure 🔥 but like he said, yea the reveals at the end.... why this character😂 his family was way more ruthless than him!

That's how I felt watching Barbarian in the 3rd act. The Q is this, Cody.... is worth seeing? I've seen every Scream at the theater. Love the series, and there has never been a flat out horrible movie. They range from ok to good to classic (1 & 2. IMO)

I will admit that they also failed to use the setting of New York to its fullest
I think they utilized it a lot more than Jason takes manhattan did. I still very much appreciate the new setting much better than going back to woodsboro.

@@JazziG59 yeah i do think they could’ve used it a bit more but honestly totally fine with what I watched. It was different and loved the sequences that took place. I feel like we missed an opportunity for a chase sequence in the middle of the street and no one is paying any mind to it.

And Kirby say they found her dead body turns out Roman turned on her and they were working together

Terrible motive got the killers ruined for me but overall I thought it was great I loved the different directions they took it in I loved how the kills were the plot while has some holes was msotly very good 2 to 3 best in the franchise for me

@@jeffcunningham0389 eh i feel like they were doing something different the whole movie only to have the same generic ending with the killer reveals and they all die 5 minutes later and asking us to suspend our disbelif way too much. i feel they tricked the audience with several lines from the trailer not being in the movie giving the impression it was a previous killer. the plot armor was also crazy with the third act having no stakes whatsoever

Saw it last night,The gun click made me laugh in the third act such an overused trope,the third act was underwhelming,all in all not the best scream film but not the worst it’s decent.

Cody leach is a very hard man to please lol never seen one review where he doesn’t end with it some snarky comment and I usually never care but ScreamVI really was amazing and deserves some major credit for how perfect it actually is. I sadly feel like we’re in a time where a movie has to be good every single minute of its runtime or its “trash movie” etc and it’s really disappointing to see.
Not Halloween kills horrendous, but pretty awful.
