"Is he Russian ?" Collosus is Piotr Rasputin. He and his comicbook sister Illyana are both indeed Russian.
And he has a bother Mikhail
and they are both awesome characters in the comics!!!!😉😊🤙🤘🤟🤞✌👍🙏👍✊✊
And she is in the movie New Mutants
And one of the best Russian’s I’ve ever seen 💜
@@katcurb2333 PLEASE dont watch the new mutants film. it's so far removed from anything the comic ever did that it's not even the same thing.
The "radioactive Shar-Pei" line is a reference to a line straight from the comics. Deadpool described himself as looking like "Ryan Reynolds if he were bitten by a radioactive Shar-Pei." Because of this, Ryan felt that he was destined to play Deadpool.
Ryan said that was on the first comic of deadpool he read
Lies
The line in the comic was "Hey, if you looked like Ryan Reynolds crossed with a shar-pei, you'd understand!" and I believe the idea had already come up in some context before that. His character in Blade: Trinity was either loosely inspired by Deadpool or led to someone suggesting he should play him, and that kind of started the ball rolling.
Ryans entire mannerism from pretty early on was already Deadpool.
Even in the romance and college movies he did his humor was entirely Deadpool.
Well as we know now he was in fact destined to play Deadpool
Keep in mind, Deadpool is the only one who knows Ajax as Francis. So when hes killing all those goons because they dont tell him where Francis is... well, they never really stood a chance.
The drawing was "Photo Realistic" ...
That's one of Deadpool's superpowers: he is aware that he is a fictional character, and has used that to his advantage in the comics, by reading the comic books of his enemies to gain an advantage over them lol.
His healing factor mutation has also caused ALL of his cells to be unable to die, INCLUDING the cancer cells, which is why he looks so fucked up :P
That last fight also takes place on a derelict SHIELD helicarrier :P
One of Deadpool's best Fourth Wall breaks EVER is from Marvel vs. Capcom 3, where he uses his own life bar as a weapon.
@@Ambaryerno that one i didnt know about and youre right, thats hilarious!
Ryan Reynolds is 100% Deadpool, like they were made for each other. In the comics Deadpool is very sarcastic and breaks the 4th wall all the time. Great casting
Ryan Reynolds doesn’t play Deadpool…
Deadpool plays Ryan Reynolds
@@Swissswoosher Ryan Reynolds IS Deadpool
@@fossilkingdom scroll down on my comment
This was filmed in my hometown of Vancouver, Canada. The bridge Deadpool has his first big fight on I used to take to work every day and many of the scenes are filmed near my old apartment on the West End. Ryan Reynolds is from Vancouver. It's fun in that respect.
It's not a bridge, man, it's The Viaduct!
It's funny that Deadpool encountered X-Men, not Alpha Flight :D
@@nitrokid
Fingers crossed, someday 🙏
Man, as someone that's from the Bay Area, used to live in New York, and has spent a ton of time in Vancouver, My disbelief is really hard to suspend. I know if they've jumped around locations or exactly where they are in like 90% of movies and TV
That's cool as hell. Respect. Myself I live in Albuquerque, and know many locations Breaking Bad was shot. Cool damn world.
Answering Questions: A "Dutch Oven" is when you pull the covers over your lover's head and fart, trapping them with the fallout. Such a romantic lol
Regeneration (Re-jen-er-ay-shun) is the english word for something healing rapidly.
Comedies where they tend to lay down a lot of quick jokes and witty dialogue are referred to as "Rapid Fire".
It's the regenerate for the final fight between Deadpool and Ajax?
I thought she was looking for the word stalemate. Since she talked about both of them.
@@getshwifty3101 I thought she was looking for regeneration as well. Especially cause she said a russian word that starts with reg. But I can see stalemate I guess.
Deadpool, both the movie and the comic, is the master of breaking the 4th wall. Colossus is a Russian mutant named Piotr "Peter" Nikolayevich Rasputin...a pretty heavy duty Russian name and one of my fave X-men from the comics. Great reaction to one of the best superhero movies ever.
Piotr's name may be Russian through and through but his gentlemanly mannerisms are true to the comics
While, Deadpool is the master, She-Hulk does it quite a bit as well.
Ryan Reynolds' performance as Deadpool back in 2016 moved me like no other film that year. I had tears in my eyes, real tears, at the thought that Deadpool was finally portrayed correctly with the perfect casting choice in Reynolds who was born for this role. I love this movie so damn much.
Ryan hasn't stopped playing Deadpool since lol
@@bryansmith1691 Nor before 😉
True... he is perfect for this role. Sadly, he tries to be the same character in every other movie he is in and it doesn't always work. Reynolds has more range, but the success of this role has made him afraid to step outside of this character model, which will limit his casting in the long run.
Shame about the second one being so forgettable. I literally watched it twice because I completely forgot I watched it the first time.
@@Tekkarath Well, I loved Deadpool 1, but surprisingly loved Deadpool 2 even more...
Ryan Reynolds actually had Beckham over to his place after that part of him "speaking like he inhaled helium" and filmed a bit. Was pretty funny. Also him and Hugh Jackman are close friends so you'll see lots of ribbing on each other via "Wolverine" or him wearing the "mask" when he reveals to Monica Baccarin.
I love that Colossus is an actual russian actor like he is in the comics
The voice was Stefan Kapicic who is Montenegrin, not Russian. Mocap was by Andre Tricoteux who is Canadian.
Apparently, it was while filming Blade Trinity that someone gave Ryan a copy of a Deadpool comic and pointed out he was basically playing the same character. He loved the character, and since the star of the film (Wesley Snipes) apparently didn't care how the film turned out, he started ad-libbing and generally adjusted his performance to be more Deadpool-like. Blade Trinity became Ryan Reynolds' Deadpool audition tape. Twelve years later...
Yes, Collossus and his sister Magik are both Russian superheroes, and they are both awesome.
The second one is even better.... Cara Dune played by Gina Carano is tough in the real world she is an ex mixed martial arts fighter.
being from Vancouver, I watched this movie in theatres without knowing it was filmed in my city. So when I started seeing things I recognized I started to freak out lmao
29:57 In English, it'd be the very similar "regeneration." In this case, both English "regeneration" and Russian "регенера́ция" are borrowed from the same Latin word, "regeneratio."
Another great reaction Dasha. I knew you'd like this movie and I can't wait until you do the second one. Yes Colossus is Russian his real name is Piotr Rasputin (the characters name not the actor).Looking forward to next week's lineup of reactions.
BUT she needs to watch Logan first. Otherwise DP2 will spoil the ending for her right off the bat, and that would be a travesty.
@@ronmaximilian6953 He was in X3. He did the Fastball Special with Logan during the final battle.
Deadpool has always been one of my favorites from the very beginning he was breaking every rule of comics, starting with the mocking of a DC character Deathstroke's name "Slade Wilson" (1980 first appearance) to the fourth wall, and killing every single character in the Marvel universe at one time or another.
To include killing entire universes. Yep he did that shit. In the story line "Deadpool kills the Marvel Universe"
@@Jeremiah90526 Deadpool kills the Marvel Universe (Again)
4:55 Yes, Colossus has always been Russian, even in the comic books. Which was a big deal because during the Cold War not many American action franchises had Russian HEROES... they were usually bad guys in movies and comics at that time. So to have Piotr as one of the X-Men during that timeframe was a risky move for Marvel.
Leave it to Marvel to be risky lol
@@shady_the_one In the comics, especially in the '60s and '70s, yes.
27:38 -- The character she's playing in the "Deadpool universe" is "Angel Dust". One of the "evil" mutants. Super strength and agility.
Though not at Colossus's level, they gave her a huge boost to be able to stand up to _him._
Dasha is my favorite superhero. Deadpool made me laugh in the theater so loud, I almost got kicked out. So happy you enjoy Miss Dasha.
Colossus in the comic books is Rasputin's son, they are mutants and this explains the myths around Rasputin ect.
"Less angry Rosie O'Donnell" was the best line in this whole movie!! When she says "it's a face I'd be happy to sit on" WE know it's true love.!! She loves him, regardless of how he looks.
Breaking the 4th wall is one of Deadpool’s main things
Yup, Deadpool is connected to the X Men, who are mutant superheroes. And you would think twice about saying a mutant isn’t a person if you saw the movies. You may want to watch them before Deadpool 2. Unless you don’t mind a pretty big spoiler for one of them
Yes, Colossus is Russian. In the Deadpool movies
Wade in the comics is a mutate rather than a mutant. A human given mutant powers through scientific means rather than being born with them. Not sure which he qualifies as in the movie, but I would think mutant since he did have mutant genes, they were just dormant.
Wade’s power is what we call a healing factor.
Yup, it’s the actress who played Cara Dune
Bob is a real character. In the comics he’s a defected hydra agent who’s occasionaly Deadpool’s sidekick, and he still wears the outfit. Of course Fox couldn’t use Hydra, so he’s not one here
In english it’s regeneration
Cable is a character from the future (kind of) with a robot arm and eye and usually a big gun, has adventures with Deadpool. And that’s the simple version.
Not sure if ive ever heard anyone sound quite as adorable while giggling and saying " shes pegging him"
Others have mentioned that Colossus is, in fact, Russian as a character. The actor who did his voice is Stefan Kapicic, who is from Montenegro.
Out of curiosity, how well did he do on the accent? It sounds like a good Russian accent to me, but I'm a native English speaker (American). It might sound different to you.
Because Montenegro is on Balkan and lots lots of us people from those areas accents are almost impossible to recodnise them. I can easily because I am from them (Serbia it is right next to Montenegro) but to foreign people it sounds tottaly same.
Plus we have grown up on American movies for the past 70 years with American actors doing fake Russian accents.
Morena Baccarin became memorable to many of us in the science fiction series, "Firefly."
Dasha would love Firefly.
@@jeremyfrost2636 I would enjoy seeing her react to it.
It's always great to see how people love this movie it was perfectly done and done so well and it made so much money to convince Disney to greenlight the 3rd one even with an R rating that alone is impressive.
Yes, Colossus (Пётр "Питер" Николаевич Распутин) is Russian. He's from lake Baikal. He's my favourite X-Man.
The soul of a poet and a painter in the metal body of a warrior.
His sister, Magik (Ильяна Николаевна Распутина) is an X-Man (they're all called "man", even the women) and a member of New Mutants, too. She's played by Anya Taylor-Joy in the cursed New Mutants movie.
As I understand it she was one of the best parts of the New Mutants movie.
Yes, yes she was amazing
Another great video.
You know the film is good when you tear up at "A face I'd be happy to sit on"
One of the tropes of comic books is that whenever a villain becomes popular enough, they turn into an antihero. Deadpool, Punisher, and Harley Quinn are probably the most famous examples.
Deadpool is not the first Marvel character to break the fourth wall, but he does it far more often than anyone else, including She-Hulk.
When they made this movie, they didn't have Deadpool's usual straight man Cable, who you will meet in the sequel. The decision to use Colossus (everyone's favorite Russian hero in Marvel) as a straight man was pure genius because Piotr is so earnest.
The character Piotr was created at the height of the Cold War to remind Americans that no matter what happens between our governments, Soviet citizens were people. So Piotr was imagined as a dedicated communist, but also a very nice, earnest farm boy from a Soviet commune.
Negasonic Teenage Warhead took her superhero name from a real rock song, which I find dorky and adorable.
He had cancer when his healing powers activated, so while the healing power keeps him alive, it also keeps the cancer around, and the cancer spread. It constantly restores the cancer just like it restores him.
When you said "Well it's good that he didn't swallow" I laughed so hard
Colossus (Piotr Nikolayevich Rasputin) the character is Russian, he was played by two actors: Andre Tricoteux was the motion capture actor, and Stefan Kapicic was the voice actor. Tricoteux is Canadian and Kapicic is Montenegrin but he does speak Russian (along with Serbian, English, and German)
DP constantly breaks the 4th wall, is insane and basically cant die. In the comics, hes in love with the actual avatar of Death but never really ends up with her. And then theres Cable. 🖒🖒
Probably my favorite part of the movie is the montage of him killing the bad guys asking "Where's Francis?"
Keep in mind that most likely none of them knew that his name was Francis. So even if they wanted to tell him they probably had no idea who he was talking about.
Lol that’s true, I’ve never thought about that 🤣
I've seen you struggle (understandably) with fast talking characters in English, but you were picking up on 90% of his jokes! That's actually amazing!
Yes, Colussus is Russian. His full name is Piotr Nikolaievitch Rasputin, from the Ust-Ordynski Collective, near Lake Baikal. In the comics he has an older brother Mikhail and a younger sister Illyana who are also mutants. Illyana is in another X-Men style movie you haven't gotten to yet.
The healing ability that Deadpool and Wolverine have is called regeneration in English.
It really fits for him to be a deadpool 😂
I laughed so hard when Colossus puke 🤣
this was the most funniest and darkest superhero movie i ever seen. they made deadpool very comic book accurate in terms of costume and personality. i even own this movie on blu ray.
When I saw it in the theater, in under 5 minutes my face actually HURT from smiling. Top rank movie imo.
Deadpool is Marvel's Best Movie by far.
It's a "Comic Book Movie" ... its RATED R ... it's nonstop Humor!
Great reaction, Dasha. Just a quick note on the English word for Healing where something grows back: Regeneration, or it regenerates.
Colossus can change back to his human form. They decided not to show that transformation in order to save money, and just kept him in his (cgi) metal form.
Dasha, I am late to discovering you but excited to go down the rabbit hole that is your channel. Great reaction video! I am Canadian as well and welcome to the mess it currently is. Reading the comments there are many true Deadpool fans here Going now to watch you reaction to Deadpool 2. 😍
T J. Miller, the bartender, is also very funny in She's Out Of My League. He voices one of the teen Vikings in How To Train Your Dragon, also.
If I remember correctly, How To Train Your Dragon is Dasha's next reaction after this one.
Colossus is Piotr Rasputin,, and his younger sister is Illyana Rasputin, aka Magik, on "the New Mutants".
"Are you talking to me?!"
Right off the bat I'm cheezin. Dasha never fails to brighten up the day. Great reaction, keep it up!
Edit:
A Dutch oven is when you're sharing a bed with someone and you trap them under the covers and fart
And the word you were trying to remember is "regenerates", it isnt that different from the russian version 😏👍
@@johngravelyn8050 Clearly you cared enough to comment. 😘
This was technically an X-Men movie, but doesn't really tie in to the other ones in the series aside from Deadpool 2, but they do make a few references to the X-Men movies.
If I understand correctly, this is part of the MCU now.
The girl at the beginning of the movie(Megan), is played by actress Taylor Hickson. She is currently playing one of the lead roles in the show Motherland Fort Salem. Wich is one of my favorite shows!
This is probably Ryan Reynolds best movie. Because after this one he's mostly been playing this role over and over. But I love this movie, the humor is excellent.
And since this is X-Men I recommend you start from the beginning, with X-Men (2000) and all the way up to the new ones starting with X-Men - First Class (2011).
@@busimagen I won't argue with that.
Fun little tidbit: the captain Deadpool line is actually a nod to the comics in which Deadpool was inspired by Captain America, since the licensing would allow for that at the time they added that line as a verbal Easter egg
29:57 -- The word you are looking for is "regenerate" .. Deadpool has superfast healing in addition to strength, agility, and reflexes..
OMG I TOTALLY SUGGESTED THIS MOVIE AND YOU LISTENED! YAY SO EXCITED!
Thank you for waving at Stan - it made my day.
There is a YT video on how this film got made or nearly didn't...It's a fun watch. 03:03 is the start of the "leaked" preview. The success of this R rated film is one of the reasons we got LOGAN. FYI- Colossus aka Peter Rasputin is Russian.
And it must be said: Logan is a MASTERPIECE, and the greatest "Big Two" comic book movie ever made.
She also should watch it BEFORE Deadpool 2, otherwise the very first scene of DP2 will spoil the ending of Logan.
I do recommend watching the X-Men movies to get some insight into what is going on overall here. The Deadpool movies are in that universe, while not directly interacting with the films storylines. The Wolverine movies are also highly recommended.
The word you were looking for was "regeneration" the process of repairing/restoring damaged tissue or organs.
BTW, did you the notice the ship they were fighting on is a S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier? They couldn't specifically say that at the time because Deadpool and X-men were owned by FOX. But Marvel has bought them back and talk is they will eventually be brought fully back into the MCU.
When Deadpool was in the cab at the beginning of the movie, he referred to something that rhymes with "Pullverine" he was referring to "Wolverine" (Hugh Jackman), Ryan Reynold and Hugh Jackman have a long going habit of throwing insults at each other. They've been friends since Hugh Jackman's movie "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" where Ryan Reynolds played Deadpool for the first time. Fans were very disappointed because they turned Dead Pool into a totally different character. That's why Ryan Reynolds worked so hard to bring this version of Deadpool to the screen because this is how Deadpool should be played.
One of the best "jokes" is him killing all those people because they're not telling him were "Francis" is, but they only know him as "Ajax" not "Francis", except for "Agent Smith"🤣🤣🤣
Dasha always have a very genuine reaction, and I can’t wait to see what she thinks of Deadpool 2. Let’s hope she never has to experience a Dutch Oven 👍
I was scrolling through the comments to see when somebody would mention the Dutch oven. LOL
@@rufus5966 The reality of a Dutch Oven assaults the senses when it’s done right 👍
I LOVE how u said, "This makes me crazy!"
That's exactly what the oxygen tank did to Wade, with 2 days of deprivation, his brain was damaged and he spent the rest of the film Schizophrenic
Talking to people that aren't there, (us). 🤣
Really great reaction! I like how you picked up on a lot of the subtle things, and got the various references (wolverine, ferris bueller at the end).
I knew Ryan Reynolds WAS Deadpool from the moment I saw him in X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Then they totally screwed it up. I'm glad they finally were able to make it right with this movie.
The amount of empathy you feel is heartwarming. I wish I had that in my life.
There were several running gags in this movie, and the sequel.
Hugh Jackman, who plays Wolverine, and Ryan are great friends and make fun of each other a LOT; DP keeps asking people where 'Francis' is, but because none of the people he's asking know him by that name, they didn't understand; Ryan also has a long history of making fun of himself and has a great time doing so in the DP movies.
Early in his career Ryan starred in a comedy series with Nathan Fillion, who starred in FIREFLY* with Morena baccarin, who plays Irena, the 'love interest' here.
*If you haven't done so, you should check it out, and the movie SERENITY (2005) based on it.
Anorah
"you don't need to be a super hero to get the girl. The right girl, will bring out the super hero in you" - Deadpool
The actor who played the person that gave Wade the black card was in a movie called Galaxy Quest. Its really funny, you should watch it if you haven't. Anyway, for years I knew I recognized that guy but it took me forever to remember that it was Galaxy Quest that I'd seen him in before.
Your thumbnails are always amazing btw great reaction ❤️❤️
Yes, he's Russian. Piotr Rasputin, his superhero name is Colussus
The part where he scares the pizza delivery guy was actually in one of the comics. Except instead of scaring him he kills the guy
Amazing reaction dasha. I love this movie alot and the 2nd movie is awesome. Ryan Reynolds was born to play deadpool and he does it perfectly.😎
This is one of my favorite superhero movies. So funny. As a side note, Dasha, your mannerisms and personality are irresistible. Nobody can have a bad day after your positive energy :)
This is why he is called the merc with a mouth, also my favorite part is "Oh your poor wife" especially from the camera angle.
Fun fact: Colossus is Russian and his real name is Peter/Piotr Rasputin.
Dutch Oven: Covering someone with a blanket and farting underneath it.
Dasha, if you haven’t yet, you need to watch the original Robocop. That’s where “dead or alive, you’re coming with me” came from.
@30:00 the word you're looking for is Deadpool can regenerate. I loved watching this reaction with you, good stuff!
This was a great reaction! Thanks for letting us experience this movie with you.
Here's a heads-up for when you watch the sequel: By the time the opening credits sequence starts rolling, you will feel _very, _*_very_*_ upset!_ Do not let that distract you from reading those credits. They will express what you are feeling at that moment, thus reassuring you that the writers knew what they were doing. Also, make absolutely certain not to miss the post-credits sequence at the end of the movie; it's vital to the plot.
I JUST discovered the source of "Did I leave the the stove on?"
Fight Club.
Especially when comparing Tyler's 'Duvet vs Blanket' remarks to Al and Wade's debate over IKEA furniture. 😂
The big guy you though might be Russian is Colossus - and yes, he is supposed to be Russian.
Ajax was the name of a mythical warrior from ancient Greece. He was said to be stronger than anyone else in Greece. That's why the Ajax soap company chose the name, "Ajax is stronger than grease".
Deadpool himself is Canadian. Wade Wilson is from Regina, Saskatchewan... And we all know that Regina rhymes with fun! :)
Deadpool is a superhero who knows that he is in comics/movies and he is not real , he is a character
I loved your reaction very much, especially, that you enjoyed the raunchiness of it as well. 😄
This movie is one of my all time faves
Welcome to Canada! My brother-in-law's brother filmed Deadpool 2 :)
Love your accent btw :)
As Ultimate Muscle's Check Mate taught us, feeling no pain does not mean your body can ignore any injuries. Break your arm, and it's still rendered useless.
Francis' power is described as enhanced reflexes and no pain receptors, yet he shrugs off plenty of wounds that should have incapacitated him (he should also have trouble breathing with a katana sticking through him). The only explanation is that he gained some form of toughness along with his stated powers.
The confusing thing is that Deadpool never points this out.
“Ohh i know this its X people “ i don’t know why this made me laugh so hard 😂
Your personality always brightens my day. Thank you very much. 100 percent. :-) Bal'shoye spasiba! Большое спасибо!
Dasha,Colossus is as Russian as it gets-his name is Piotr “Peter” Nikolayevich Rasputin and his birthplace is Ust-Ordynsky Collective near Lake Baikal,Russia
(29:57) In America, we’d say he “regenerate’s”! :)
your excitement on your reactions is great. never change.
IMPORTANT SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT: ***WATCH LOGAN BEFORE YOU WATCH DEADPOOL 2!!!*** The very first scene of DP2 spoils the ending of Logan. And believe me, you don't want to be spoiled. Logan is a MASTERPIECE, but it will lose its impact the first time through if you know how it ends going in.
The opening credits scene weren't intended to be a joke. They were a placeholder for the real credits, but they worked so well with the rest of the humor they decided to keep it.
The scene with the pizza guy was taken right from the books. Although IIRC, Wade actually DID kill the guy in the books, not just scaring the hell out of him.
One of the best things about this movie is that every time Deadpool says the movie is a different genre, the tone of the film itself changes to match. But ultimately, it really DOES play out quite effectively as a Romantic Comedy.
Something missing from the movie because of the Disney/Fox rights issues is that the reason Deadpool is immortal isn't because of his healing factor, but because Thanos cursed him. Wade and Thanos were both in love with Death (who is an actual person in Marvel). Death loved Wade, so out of spite Thanos made him immortal so they could never be together.
Originally, Negasonic Teenage Warhead was written as Cannonball, who has that sort of flaming energy blast ability in the books. The comics version of NTW was a telepath. And only appeared in one issue, in which she was killed (after the success of the movie, she got resurrected and given expanded powers and a new look to resemble her appearance here). I can't recall why they dropped Cannonball from the final script, but they ultimately decided to use NTW simply because they loved her name. The energy blasts fitting her name was an added bonus.
Deadpool is absolutely hilarious. _Such_ a great superhero comedy film. That opening with the camera flying through the moment frozen in time is also pretty cool.
i love how you really get into the movies when u watch them. i cant wait for you to react to deadpool 2 i liked the 2nd one better than the first.
OMG Dasha I thought you where still in Russia. Great reaction again. Keep up the good work.
Another excellent and fun reaction. Спасибо, Dasha! ;)
Hey Dasha, Deadpool is part of the X-Men series.
I forgot how freaking crazy this movie is. Watching Dasha react can be a movie in itself.

Bob, the guy Wade hadn't seen since Jacksonville, is supposed to be a character from the comics that they couldn't get the rights to for the movie.. Hydra Bob, Deadpool's sidekick.
29:55 I'm not sure if anyone has mentioned it already or if you looked it up yet, but the English equivalent of регенерация is regeneration.
Nobody else could pull off this dry matter of fact style of comedic superhero/villain. Only Ryan Reynolds. Epic film, awesome reaction! Please add "V for Vendetta" to your list of movies to react to. Thanks!
