Hey everyone; it looks like Warner Brothers has decided to copyright claim this video and forced me to mute everything for about 2 minutes worth of the video near the start. From 0:47 to 2:43.
They chose to do this AFTER the video is released and there isn't anything I can do about this unfortunately, as once a video is uploaded to YT all the audio channels between the movie and myself are compressed into a single track.
You have Instagram?
It's not muted for me, I did start watching almost immediately after you uploaded so I beat WB that time, but I also just refreshed and checked the intro and it's not muted. Maybe there's some sort of delay? I am in the U.S.
Hopefully WB learned about fair use, because it's not muted for me 🙂
Lol I thought my headphones were messed up! 🙂🙃
@@watermelonsavage2914 I think maybe if you watch like right away. Because I started about 10 minutes ago and it is muted
Heath Ledger won a posthumous Oscar for his performance as the Joker, a first for any movie based on a comic book. An amazing actor and a huge loss of talent.
I was 11 when this came out, first film I owned on blu-ray. Heath Ledger as The Joker will always be my favourite actor/role played. He does such an indepth and amazing job. Still sad we lost him
Yeah i loved it when it came out rip Heath ledger we lost a legend to soon
I think there's only 4 others full stop. Unless I'm mistaken.. incredible performance!! Such a shame. 😥
Also Heath ledger was only 27-28 when he made this movie. He should have also won an Oscar for brokeback mountain.
@@tileux I agree. Great performance. Great actor.. an enormous loss to all of us!

The joker purposely gave him the wrong addresses because he knew he would choose Rachel, so he told him she was where Harvey actually was.
That's how much the joker loves to trick people
Lol I love how you point out that "Natasha" is always the standard go-to name for Russian women in Hollywood films 😂
When it was 1st announced that Heath Ledger was going to play the Joker, there was a huge pushback from fans of Batman and also people who were interested in the Movie as it was widely believed that Heath Ledger wouldn't be up to the task, and would do a poor job of playing the Joker.
And then he knocks it out of the park, and his performance was absolutely fantastic.
@@YukonBloamie 😳 I just watched a bit of "Tom Waits - Interview 1979 [Reelin' In The Years Archives]" on RUclips, and OMG!
Many people said the same thing about Michael Keaton, Beetlejuice as Batman? I try not to judge casting decisions until I actually see the performance.
fantastic? i think a better word to describe heath ledgers performance is legendary
Well, it killed him. Can't say it was good. It's just a make believe role in make believe situations. That killed someone.
I can say he put his life on the line..
The uncomfourtable atmosphere when the Joker crashes the party was actually genuine for the most part, most of these actors had not seen Ledger in Make-up and Ledger grabbing Rachel was not scripted. So some of that fear she shows is real.
You are 100% correct, but I find it strange how people can be frightened that badly when there is clearly no threat at all from that person. Either way, it is a very interesting piece of film history.
@@hestoceles Someone you don't know personally waving a knife in your face while he's got ahold of your head when they're not supposed to be tends to be a little intimidating.
Alfred supposedly had a line, but Michael Caine was so creeped out that he didn't deliver it.
@@aaronburdon221 Fair, but of course it'd never have be a real knife on set.
@@aaronburdon221 I think Heath Ledger and Maggie Gyllenhaal knew each other quite good. Jake Gyllenhaal (Maggie's brother) was a close friend to Heath Ledger
Notice how Joker keeps changing the origin story for how he "got his scars", Dasha? Well, this is actually a key part of Joker's lore in the comics. He's always giving different backstories for himself because to use his words, "If I'm going to have a past, I'd prefer it to be multiple choice."
Also depending on wich timeline and correct me if im wrong there are Three Jokers so that could explain it.
"Will the real [whoever] please stand up?" actually originated on a TV quiz show, of the 1950s-'60s, called "To Tell the Truth". Three people would all claim to be the same person, and, by asking questions, four celebrity panelists would try to figure out which of the three was the real one. The show would end with the moderator asking the three, "Will the real [whoever] please stand up?", at which point the real one was revealed.
RIP and long live the greatest Joker actor of all time.
Heath Ledger (April 4, 1979 - January 22, 2008), aged 28
You will always be remembered as a legend.
I was 14 at the time Heath Ledger passed. He's was one of my influence to me writing and creating my own superheroes movies/series
Ledger gave a memorable performance, but there's a reason that Mark Hamil's performance in the Animated Series is still considered the Gold Standard for the Joker.
@@Ambaryerno So, what is it?
Mark hammill "am I a joke to you?" Hamill was a legendary, hilarious, brilliant joker for decades
@@Ambaryerno because kids grew up with him and he did the character for 30 years. not because he had some exceptional gift at portraying the role. it's why kevin conroy is also so beloved. although mark was the only game in town for 16 years unlike kevin who had other batmans to compare with in the 1990s and 00s.
give the role to another voice actor and they can do as well as mark, in fact they have. troy baker did one of the arkham game jokers to acclaim.
i love mark as an actor but the full-body portrayal that heath did was much more difficult than affecting a voice and laugh ala Hamill.
Forgive me, but that made me laugh. "Not all of [Russian girls] are named Natasha." Hollywood prides itself for avoiding stereotypes, even as they stereotype everyone.

Interesting fact I read; the interrogation scene with Batman and the Joker, Christian Bale was really punching Heath Ledger. Also, the Joker purposely switched Harvey Dent and Rachel Dawes’ addresses when they were wired to the bombs. He wanted Dent to be found because look at how well lit Harvey Dent’s room is whereas Rachel was in a dark building, being intentionally hard to find. Glad you finally saw this one. This is one of my all time favorite movies. Now I’m looking forward to you reacting to The Dark Knight Rises to conclude this trilogy. Your input is awesome! 🦇
As odd as it feels to say, it feels really amazing seeing someone be visibly unsettled by Heath Ledger's Joker. Really drives home just how much he really made this version of the Joker his own, almost quite literally becoming the Crown Prince of Crime.
I thought it was Clown Prince of Crime?
@@kenarbes yes thats the correct version
To "abscond" means to escape quickly, typically while doing something illicit. For example, a con man might abscond with his target's money. By saying Bruce "absconded with" the Russian ballet, the journalist was implying that he "stole" the cast members and left Gotham abruptly.
"Gordon's ALIVE!"
Feels like a missed opportunity...Tune in next week for Brian Blessed in Flash Gordon!
Love watching films with Dasha x
Dasha needs to react to Flash Gordon if she hasn't seen it yet.
"Alfred has interesting past" Yes, it is often hinted that Alfred served in the military or special ops. In this version, he is a former SAS operative (sort of a British version of Speznas). And having served in Northern Ireland during the Troubles, he may have taken part in "special interriogations" or "extralegal executions" of IRA personnel... By the way, Michael Caine is himself a Korean War veteran.
Heath Ledger is the best live-action Joker by far. Mark Hamill will always be the best voice for the Joker in animation
Phoenix did a fine job. A well made movie and an immaculate acting performance. But the guy he played couldn't hatch a plot to escape a wet paper sack.
Ledger is The Joker of legend, a villain for the ages.
@@shanester1832 Phoenix number 2 ledger s number one
Cameron Riley Monaghan is probably my favorite live action Joker, but yes Mark Hamill FTW!
@@shanester1832 That was why I didn't care for Joker. Crazy isn't all you need to be The Joker and that's all I saw from that iteration.
@@Mizgrievoux I agree, but I don't think that's what the movie was trying to achieve. I see it as a character study about how a real person could become someone with the philosophy and outlook on life like the Joker (well, that and an experiment about seeing if you can slap to Scorsese movies together, give it a comic book paintjob, and still make a billion dollars). The movie would have worked just as well if it was called "Crazy Clown Man" and didn't have any references to Batman.
This trilogy transcends the superhero genre. The movies are dark, complex, and grounded. Great storytelling, and this movie is one of the greatest films ever.
I do remember watching the old Daredevil movie and it wasn't about save the world. Some things stretched a bit so not as grounded. Kinda fits the same mold if Dent really was the Batman I think.
I don't think people realize just how much duller Marvel's movies are if they removed all of the gimmicky "music montage" scenes that goes on during many of the fight scenes.
Not that I don't enjoy Marvel but when they came about in the 60's it was pretty clear that this was the pot head generation who just wanted to belt out one ridiculous character after another almost mocking the super hero industry with just how unrealistic they could be with their characters. "yeah..and let's make this guy blue and that girl green and and ... umm... they all can fly that's normal but let's make them do some crazy shit like... be part animal (deep inhale of more pot) oh!!! yeah man let's have one of them be like a rock dude. And other one be like a fire dude. and another one be an ice dude.... Then a spider dude... a octopus dude.... a rhino dude... this is gonna be great man!

marvel was the first to tell a story where the world didn't go back to normal at the end of the comic. They had large stories where heros could die and character growth. There is a reason gorge RR. Martin chalks marvel comics up to some of the way he write.
@@SugerFreeJazz I mean... George Martin isn't the end all be all critic in "what's good".
On the contrary the only thing I liked about the Game of Thrones was the production value HBO brought to it. but that's neither here nor there. We can't argue opinions. There's no point.
I'm talking about Marvel "movies" being more liked than DC "movies" by the general public (I feel like that's a fair general consensus). Marvel knows that most aren't comic nerds and spent more time on "entertainment" value for the short attention span.
Like in Xmen. People weren't nearly as interested in the plot as they were seeing Quicksilver running around doing amazing things while some classic rock is playing.
I think DC caught on to this which is why Suicide Squad 2 turned out to be the way it is. Chock full of absurd characters... music bash fight scenes and something that will wake you up ever 5 minutes that has little to do with any kind of plot. lol. That kind of movie will always do better on Rotten Tomatoes than Batman actually being a detective in something wordy and plot heavy.
@@Novaximus the new suicide squad is killer Clearly. We agree there.
The marvel movie have some what round a formula it's not as formulaic as alot of people like to call it, but there is one. It's one of the reasons they have made a cohesive world :/
The x men movie have all been by first far.( marvel sold the rights to a bunch of there ip awhile ago) The next ones coming up in afew years will be buy marvel/ Disney now that they bought fox.
You don't have to like game or tones or the books but your missing out in my opinion:/.
You said in the 60's the comics, where just out there comics made by pothead.
But it's a fact and opinions can't change that while DC was still just righting stories that went in a circle marvel, was telling complex stories. Spidermanhad a thing for like 4 girls throughout his early comics heck one of then died. And he went from being a high school student to a college living on his owen dealing with the problems that come with that.
The fantastic 4 had internal conflicts with in the team, and the thing who you dumbed down to just an orange guy , has insecure and hated being the thing.
Fun fact: 17:47 Heath Ledger improvised this scene (as well) when he grab her and put the knife in her face, he suposed to come closer to her ask and talk about the scars, Maggie Gyllenhaal wasn't acting in this moment she was really uncomfortable and scared, she even looked to the film crew to stop that take, but they decided to put this part in the movie because the legitimate Heath acting and Maggie's fear.
Understandable, as this was her first time seeing Heath as The Joker, as was Michael Caine's. Alfred was supposed to have a line when they came out of the elevator, but he was so taken back that he completely forgot.
This movie was a very important lesson teacher for me. I remember when they announced Heath Ledger playing Joker, and was hating on it huge. I then watched the movie, and got more humbled by the minute while he repeatedly showed me I needed to STFU.
This movie is why I didn't freak out when Robert Pattinson was announced as the next Batman. Because I was wrong before, and I was proven wrong. So I'll just wait.
I was a fan of Ledger but admit to being skeptical of his casting. The first teaser trailer sold me and put any fears to rest. Three times Batman casting caused a freak out: Michael Keaton, Heath Ledger, and Robert Pattinson. All three actors killed their part and had people eating their words!
Ditto
The Joker tells a different 'origin' story each time because he delights in seeing how people react to the story he concocts just for them. He's always said that if he DID have an origin story, that he prefers it to be multiple choice. Also, the scar prosthetics on his mouth kept coming loose, and Heath found that if he licked them they'd stay in place, so he worked that little licking tic into his performance. He also told Christian Bale to actually punch him during the interrogation scene at the police station, so that his performance would be more real, and he did :P
The old man that he threatens at Bruce's party is Sr. US Senator Patrick Leahy of Vermont, the longest sitting Senator in the country. He's a huge Batman fan and likes to do cameos :)
That little video of the Joker terrorizing the fake Batman gives me chills every damn time. Nolan gave Heath a camera for the scene and told him to go to town with whatever he wanted, and the result is brilliant. He'd also told the cop "In their final moments, people show you who they really are", and when he gets hurled off the building by Batman, he is laughing hysterically as he falls, which is perfect. Heath Ledger was a true talent.
Great Reaction Dasha, as always. I just want to add my personal opinion, one thing you must remember with Joker he is a liar and homicidal maniac. He lies to everyone and tells different people how he got his scars. He's a Manipulator and incredibly smart. Him lying to Harvey Dent was only to manipulate him. It took careful planning and back up planning to do what the Joker did. The Joker had a contingency if he was caught or arrested. That's planning. He lied to Harvey saying he just does things. He is Chaos and he is Passionate about what he does because he enjoys the carnage. The Joker also prepping to boats to blow each other up takes planning too. In that dark hour humanity shines. Looking forward to more of your reactions.
There's no evidence of this anywhere in the film, but knowing how the Joker operates, I like to think that he lied to the boats and they actually were holding the trigger to their own bombs. He expects the civilians to pull the trigger which would blow up their own boat, thus saving all of the criminals who he could later recruit, using the fact that he saved them by tricking the other boat to gain their loyalty.
@@watermelonsavage2914 I can see that. The Joker does like "aggressive expansion." Also, Considering that the Joker lied to Batman about where Rachel and Harvey were. He knew that Batman would go for Rachel, with his daring leap after her out the window. So, Joker deliberately lies to Batman by telling him Rachel is at one address while, it is actually Harvey at that address. He just tricked Batman, so he can continue his maniacal game with him.
Your thought also gives me pause to wonder, if both remotes were to actually to blow up just the Civilian Ship. Probably would be easier to manipulate criminals into thinking Civilians were actually willing to press the detonator in your theory though. Either way I'm sure the Joker could manipulate it, the same way he did with Dent. Appreciate your insight!
Scar\the killing joke multi version origin joker
My favorite villain performance of all time.
Also, I didn't get it the first time either. Joker swapped the addresses on purpose because he knew Bruce would go for Rachel and get there first, and that her death would break Harvey.
They flipped over a real truck on the streets of Chicago. NO CGI.
The hospital was a parking lot scheduled for demolition, they fabricated the outside how they needed it.
Heath Ledger did an amazing job as The Joker
"Gordon's alive!"
Am I the only one that thought of Flash Gordon?
To truly appreciate Heath Ledger's performance as Joker, you should watch some of his lighter roles for contrast, like 10 Things I Hate About You, and A Knight's Tale.
As I mentioned before A Knights Tale is a super underrated movie. I would love to see Dasha react to it
Awesome reaction Dasha! And wow what a cinematic masterpiece this is 🙌 the story has so many good twists and great performance's from all the cast. Especially Heath RIP.
Officially Katie Holmes ( the original Rachel) had scheduling conflicts that kept her from coming back. She was scheduled to act in one movie and direct, iirc, another. Film production might have paused if Bale, the lead, had similar commitments, but not a supporting actor.
Though, again iirc, rumor at the time blamed Tom Cruise ( her husband) and his commitment to Scientology for demanding she "stay home with the kids". Her other films made during the period show this was untrue, but people like to demonize others belief systems. Scientology IS wonky, imo, but wasn't to blame here.
Scientology may not be to blame but I always felt it was her super publicized whirlwind romance with Cruise that was the issue.
He allowed her to exit and claim scheduling conflicts to not lose face. He didn't want that superficial wacky circus taking away from his movie.
It's the only thing that makes sense. She chose 'Mad Money' instead of this? I don't think so.
100% had to do with cruse and that cult.... like shanester said..
The production wouldn't have paused if bale had other commitments because he wouldn't have been allowed to. he'd have had to turn the other work down.
I would assume either the studio was displeased with her work or thomas tull or nolan was and they told her to seek other work to create a cover to not embarrass her. or she disliked the work or even the public's reaction cut her out. Professional actors never double book unless there are ulterior motives. if the work would over lap they either cancel the 2nd job or ask the 2nd production to work around their schedule. basically there was no way holmes would have had to quit TDK because of work.
I'm glad to see that you enjoyed this movie as much as I did in the theater.
Yeah, the joker played a "joke" on Batman by mixing up the locations of the people. See, Rachel was dead no matter what. He knew he would go after Rachel so he told Batman she was at Harvey's location. It would tear Batman up AND be devastating to Harvey as well. All part of the Joker's bigger plan.
I love Dasha’s emotional reactions to certain scenes, I also tend to get rather emotional at times during a movie as well.
The actor who played Batman here was also in another great movie called " Empire Of The Sun " by Stephen Spielberg .
Also the underrated 'Equilibrium'!
@@nurse425 yup
Extreme role: the Machinist, he dangerously stopped eating to lose weight for the role.
On contrary of most, I believe that Joker indeed tells the truth when he says that he doesn't have a plan. People normally take it literally like "bull look at all that backup plans he had lol" but if you pay attention to what he tells to Harvey his definition of "plan" seems to refer to people who want or think that can control their surroundings with clear objectives in mind, with rules and codes. The mob bank heist is what solidifies that for me because the only affected are the mob and Joker doesn't gain anything by it, he simply laches to any semblance of a organized group and destroys it using its own rules. The only act Joker makes that actually feels like a plan in his own terms is when he asks for Reese's death and that was because he would ruin his thing with batman
I think that better describes him, yeah. So it's like, he does short term plans that exploit the extant weaknesses of whatever system, but he doesn't any specific long term scheme to latch his value onto. Whereas Harvey hedges everything onto being the big DA with the perfect police at his call with the perfect wife, and that's hope is what his morality is contingent on, and as soon as that narrative is made impossible the guy snaps and has nothing left.
With Joker, he has nothing really to lose and just responds in the moment without wasting any time or emotion.
Though I think that's an accurate take on Joker in his element, I think the movie does prove Joker wrong in the long run because Joker is desperate to make his point to Batman but ends up arrested like anyone else. He's laughing as Batman's about to kill him, because that's the perfect punchline, but when Batman leaves him and the swat shows up, it looks like he's about to cry. He doesn't pin all of his humanity onto some perfect future he's striving for, but he does have an interior narrative he clings to same as Harvey, it just takes a different situation to bring that to light.
While a normal person is destroyed when their family and career is killed, he's destroyed by being snubbed. In a sense hanging upside down with the swat, I wonder if it's only just hitting Joker that _he_ is the same as Harvey, not the reverse.
This here is a really good point you made!
Wow. Great analysis...I hadn't thought of it that way before...I always leaned toward Joker being a planner (the bank robbery, the truck ambush..getting caught intentionally and escaping via explosion, the Ferries).
I always thought of him as an unreliable narrator (intentionally giving the wrong addresses for where Rachel and Harvey were being held, different stories about how he got his scars --do we even know for sure that the detonators on the Ferries actually would blow up the OTHER boat?) He was always 2 steps ahead of everyone.
Someone noted that he was laughing when he was falling to his death because it would've meant that Batman broke his one rule and in a way he would've won their game. Also, whe he antagonized the police officer into a fight, he commented that "in their final moments people show you who they REALLY are".
No matter who you look at, this is what made the Joker such a compelling villain..
Joker would have had to correctly guess that A) Gordon faked his death, B) Dent would turn himself in as Batman, C) get himself caught, and D) that they would not go after Rachel.
Perhaps by design, any failure of these guesses would still give an outcome for the Joker:
A) Joker's assassination attempt would have been successful.
B) Batman would truly unmask himself.
C) Joker successfully kills Dent.
D) Rachel is rescued but again, Dent is killed.
yeah idk he very clearly had a general plan but just adapts what he's gonna do on the spot because as he says "he just does things". He obviously planned the bank heist to the letter, he planted the guy with the bomb in his stomach in the jail cell, he loaded a hospital and two different boats with bombs, has like hundreds of 'inside job' men bought and paid for. He obviously planned it all out, just not every single individual aspect.
I gotta say, the convict who threw the bomb trigger out of the window is a character that really stuck with me. He`s on screen for all of maybe two minutes but there`s so much there. Anyone else?
Yep, me too.
Love your reactions. So very honest and you really show your emotions. Well done.
Hello Lady Joker. LOL. Another great reaction. I always crack up when Joker greets Dent with that 'Hi' line. It's so humorous and dark psychotic at the same time.
Yes, yes it is the greatest superhero movie of all time. And Heath Ledger's Oscar winning performance still brings me to tears.
Absconds, or to abscond basically means “to run away sneakily” or “to sneak away quickly”.

You could really see from your reactions all your feelings and passion for this film, and good commentary from you as always. I don't know how many Christopher Nolan films you have seen, but don't miss Memento and The Prestige, both have amazing twisty plots!
It's sad that Heath Ledger didn't live long enough to see the film on the big screen, so that "destined to do this forever" is bittersweet.

Heath Ledger's best performance in my opinion and the best Joker of all we got so far! R.I.P Heath Ledger
Great of you to react to the Nolan Batman movies to familiarize yourself with Batman as the new Batman reboot is releasing in about 2 weeks. I was going to rewatch Batman begins myself but in a way I saw it through your reaction, which was great.
@33:50 the joker does lie. he lies about how he gets his scars because he's always changing it. he also lied to batman when he was giving the addresses of where harvey and rachel were, he switched them so that batman would go rescue harvey when he thought he was going for rachel.
Joker’s whole gig is to make Batman lose control. You can see he wasn’t planning on dropping Rachel until Batman said “let her go” and went with it because he thought it was funny.
Let’s also not forget about the boats. A popular theory about the remote detonator for both boats is that the detonator both boats would’ve actually blown up their own boat. Not the opposite one. So in either group trying to save themselves, they would’ve ended up blowing themselves up. I can totally see the Joker doing something like that.
"Ahh, he's ador-r-r-rable." No where near as adorable as that was.
Dasha, you're awesome! Your reactions are so intertaining, and you yourself are superb. This has to be one of the best superhero movie of all time. There are so many twists and turns you don't see coming.

I was dying when you said “all Russian women aren’t called Natasha” lol 😂
34:08 the joker "not having a plan" is just an example of how crazy the joker is. Half the time he's talking nonsense, half the time he is making sense and half the time he's making real backed up threats.
☝️ See what I did there 🤣
I’ve watched many reactors react to this movie, but your reaction is far and away my favorite!
14:34 .....One of these days you're gonna fall from that chair.....and it will be bloody hilarious 🤣🤣🤣🤣
7:15 -- not all Russian women are called "Natasha" ... As a Scandinavian, I feel you. Hollywood is of the opinion that a Nordic woman, at least if young and blonde, is ALWAYS called "Ingrid." (Which is then duly mispronounced by sounding the final D that is actually silent in Scandinavian.)
I feel like like Hollywood trying not to stereotype people, is also what makes them stereotype people. Lol.
Katie Holmes was to reprise as Rachel in The Dark Knight, but turned it down in order to star in Mad Money instead. Before Maggie Gyllenhaal was cast, Emily Blunt and Rachel McAdams were considered to replace Holmes as Rachel
14:50 The "Please stand up" phrase is older than the Eminem song. There was an American game show called To Tell the Truth. There would be 3 people claiming to be the same person. 1 was real and the other 2 were impersonators. There would be 2 contestants who would be allowed to ask them a limited number of questions. At the end, they had to guess who was real. Then, the host would ask "Would the real [whoever], please stand up?". This is what Eminem was referencing in his song "The Real Slim Shady".
Heath Ledger based a lot of his performance on Alex (Malcolm McDowell) in "A Clockwork Orange". That is one of the most disturbing movies ever made. Watch that sometime, Dasha.
Obviously Heath Ledger as The Joker was brilliant, but I really enjoyed Aaron Eckhart as Harvey Dent/Two Face. Two Face was always one of my favorite Batman villains and I wish he could have survived to see more done with the character.
i agree.
his line: "it's about what's FAIR!"
is one of my favorites in the movie: so convincing. Watching Eckhart unhinge Dent over his arc was subtle and well done.
I loved him in "Thank you for Smoking."
Dasha! You continually put up reactions that contain a lot of the pertinent story elements that many other reactors omit. And you put up a high-quality image, with no obscuring watermarks or other weird effects like squishing the image so the aspect ratio is fouled up. You also light yourself very well and your sound is clear with no room echo. The quality is very enjoyable. Just thought you should know it's not just the content, but how you present it that makes coming here a lot of fun! Love you! :)

Fun trivia: In Sir Michael Caine's opinion, Heath Ledger beat the odds and topped Jack Nicholson's Joker from Batman (1989): "Jack was like a clown figure, benign but wicked, maybe a killer old uncle. He could be funny and make you laugh. Heath's gone in a completely different direction to Jack, he's like a really scary psychopath. He's a lovely guy and his Joker is going to be a hell of a revelation in this picture." Caine bases this belief on a scene where The Joker pays a visit to Bruce Wayne's penthouse. He'd never met Ledger before, so when Ledger arrived and performed, he gave Caine such a fright, he forgot his lines. Loved your reaction Dasha!
Logan is a bit more tom my heart, but The Dark Knight is the reason why i became a superhero movie fan...Heath Leadger was such a treasure for this world and he always will be missed R.I.P.
and some fun facts: the scene where the Joker crashes Bruces party was the first time Micheal Cane (alfred) actually saw him in costume and make up
the video tape where the Joke tortures the fake batman was directed by heath leadger, Nolan gave ledger the camera and said "do what you want"
Heath Ledger isolated himself for 6 six weeks to prepaire his mind for the role
And i HIGHLY recommend "A Knight's Tale" with Heath Leadger, one of my favorite movies as a child

6:03 "Get him out of here."
"But Your Honor, I'm not done."
🤦😆 _Ohh!_ _Badass_ alert!
35:00 FYI, the pause as the Joker is exiting the hospital and then the startled response from the final delayed explosion when he tries the trigger again, was unscripted. The explosive sequence was mistimed and meant to be shorter. Though Ledger stayed in character, him frustratedly using the trigger was him seeing if the final detonation would go off. He was startled when it actually did, but the whole sequence fit well enough with his character that they kept the take and made it the release product.
10:17 - If you didn't already look it up, "Absconds" means to secretly disappear. It's kind of like "mysteriously vanish" except with with the former they're sure you did it on purpose, with the latter they're not sure what happened.
18:59 "Are you alright?"
"Yeah. I don't know _how,_ though. We _completely totaled_ this _car."_
This was such a great movie! I loved Batman 1989 so much that I didn't think they could ever do better than that, sometimes it's fun to be wrong. Great Reaction Dasha and RIP Heath Ledger
The two-headed coin also shows that Harvey was never going to kill Joker's goon in the alley.

There’s a great video by film theory that explains that the Joker was the true savior of Gotham. He bankrupted and got rid of the mob, he eliminated the corruption in the leadership and police, and he got rid of Batman (who people considered dangerous.). Joker was the one who cleaned the crime and corruption up in Gotham, not Batman. Great reaction!
Batman didn't commit crimes. Joker DID commit crimes, and killed people.
I love your reaction to movies , you are a lot of fun. You cheer up boring days.
"How about a magic trick?"....
This was the first movie I saw in theaters. I wish I was collecting movie tickets when I was 8 years old.
Alfred is ex British special forces, in his first iteration it was world War 1 or 2 vet, 007 and he was a badass who helped raise/train batman to be as good as he is.
Damn you're on a roll with these videos. Don't burn out but I know your subscribers and views are going up exponentially. Great work, keep it up and you'll be at 100k VERY SOON.

Back in 2008 opening weekend, you could hear a pin drop during this scene.
The entire audience was shook, especially after the "LOOK AT ME!"
I like that she’s not afraid to curse lmao

Amazing movie. Everything about it is top-notch. Glad you got to experience this awesome film.
One of the best dark knight reactions I've seen...you're one of the few who basically understood the entire plot....beauty and brains..and love your accent 😉...can't wait for your dark knight rises reaction
Wow... OMG.... loved your reactions... this is a master piece 👏
Dasha, in the funeral scene, not only are two of the policemen bad guys, one of them is actually The Joker, minus the war paint. It's a very quick take or two - definitely worth a freeze-frame.
my favorite movie, I'm glad you enjoyed it. The concept of someone taking the blame for others is what I think fascinates me about this movie.
8:32 LMAO!!!!
Joker: "I'm gonna make this pencil disappear."
Dasha of Russia Reacts: "Ok. ... ... *freaks out*"
I was waiting for that moment. 😂😂😂
Great reaction. I love how you get wrapped up in the movie. 🙂
i remember when all the Batman movies were filmed here by my house in Chicago...caused a lot of traffic but was really FUN lol
Ledger famously locked himself away in a hotel room and maintained a diary to prepare for the role. He read all the comic books He could that were relevant to the script and then would close his eyes and meditated on it. He sat in a hotel room in London for about a month, locked himself away, no contact with anyone and formed a little diary and experimented with voices - it was important to try to find a somewhat iconic voice and laugh. He watched movies like A clockwork orange. He ended up landing more in the realm of a psychopath - someone with very little to no conscience towards his acts. Ledger said joker is just an absolute sociopath, a cold-blooded, mass-murdering clown.
Katie Holmes made the choice not to return to play Rachel because of her schedule. Nolan wanted her to continue but things just didn't work out that way.
The Joker says that he is not a guy with a plan, but he was reading his speech to the people on the boat from a notebook. So he does plan things out.
There was a tv show in the 70's titled 'Get Smart', the lead good guy was part James Bond, part Mr Bean.
Named Maxwell Smart.
Just like Bond's main villains were in a group called SPECTRE, Smart usually battled Agents of...CHAOS.
😉
It was called "KAOS."
@@treetopjones737 ok, I watched the show, I didn't SPELL it.
Touche'
I love the scene where joker was under interrogation and Gordon told him what did you do to Harvey and said “Me,I was right here who did you leave him with… your people.” That was deep.
This movie is the reason I've never changed my RUclips Username, so awesome and amazing performances from everyone
Most reactors don’t pick this up but the Joker’s line ‘you complete me’ is from a speech in the second last scene of the movie Jerry McGuire. It has way more significance than most people realise.
loved the reaction 🤠
"It's good he encouraged people to go out and stop the _criminals."_
Well... he encouraged random, _untrained_ people to go out and _fight_ criminals. His diagnosis is correct, though; he's better off _without_ their help, precisely _because_ they're untrained.
These people are inspired to _fight_ criminals _because_ they see Batman fight criminals and successfully _defeat_ them. It never quite connects for them that the _reason_ he's so successful is that he knows _how_ to fight criminals, while they _don't._
And has a big advantage with technology, including his suit.
darlin', your jumpscare reaction @14:34 may be the best on RUclips haha
“Some men just want to watch the world burn.”
Very appropriate right now in 2022.
