I'm having so much more fun out of this than I thought. I like that they made Scott more sympathetic in this story compared to his behavior in the comics.
I remember Cyclops was hooking up with Emma Frost and then I found out later, in artistes Jean Grey sent him a vision from the future urging him to shack with Emma Frost because I. Her future cyclops was depressed and evil when she died and that’s why he’s hooking up with White Queen while being g a headmaster at Jen Greys Institute for Gifted Children.
Remember this is based of of the Uncanny X-Men, the longest running and highest selling Comic, they're exploring the source material

Not really. The Inferno should have been a two part story and Cyclops should have sent Nathan to the Future instead of just Madelyn. They giveth in the first two episodes and then taketh away in this one. 🤦🏾♂️

27:44 I forget the ladies name but I think Mystique is the blonde haired woman with the glasses that said she was an old friend of Charles. It just seems like they focus on her a lot. She also seems extra sensitive to the mutant cause beyond how an ally would be. Like when Storm got her powers taken they showed her face and she looked shocked and immediately turned to magneto and said "this isn't what we wanted!". Like she intimately knows how devastating it would be for a mutant to lose their gift involuntarily. I've had this feeling since that moment. Time will tell
Valerie Cooper. In the comics she and Mystique were frenemies who often worked together. Maybe they combined them for the show?
No, the blonde lady is Valerie Cooper. She works for the government and in the comics she was a the Director of Mutant Affairs. She sponsored Freedom Force, a government team that was comprised of former members of the Brotherhood of mutants led by Mystique. The original lineup of Freedom Force consisted of Mystique, Spiral, Avalance, Pyro, Blob, Destiny, Super Sabre, Crimson Commando.

The Fox X Men movies lied to us making us believe Logan actually had a chance with jean. Even with 2 Jean Greys Logan still couldn't win, both of them wanted Scott.

My main hope for this show is that it’s a test run by marvel to see how people react to this team. I’d love to see this cyclops interacting in the MCU (assuming they get back on the right track)
Dude I love the writing, seeing Magneto go from some shakspearian liberator like last week, to Bishop's "ITS TIME FOR A EXORCISM" line, going from deep to cheeseball and its great.

Your reactions are aweome, have me laughing, btw. X-Men are great, they have MOST of the best female superheroes in Marvel. Disney will make a big mistake if they focus on a trio of the same three guys. I really think the first X-Men film should not yet include Wolverine so that some of the other characters shine. Cyclops would naturally feature because of his incredible history both Jean and Ororo. Storm and Cyclops are co-leaders through most the history and SHOULD have a cool dynamic. The plot for the X-women shouldn't just be another love triangle. And don't just give Storm special effects and another throwaway plot (I think she wanted to continue Professor X's legacy and keep the school going bs. Poor Halle Berry really had a weak script to work with imo. I do think it would be cool if Berry made a cameo because she IS Storm to a lot of people. But comic book Storm is a very important character for Marvel and the X-Men and I hope Disney invests in her character).
Edit: So excited that animated Storm is tackling her very cool Life Death storyline.

For all those wondering- Cyclops married the Real Jean and Jean was Phoenix, the reason why Maddie has the powers she does is because she has life due to the Phoenix force still being technically in jean, lol actually is dormant- Jean died while hosting phonix so it used its fire and essence from the rest of the team to give jean her life back.
Madelyn is like The Flash Barry Allen's Clone remnants. The body was and flesh was developed my Sinister with an implant in the brain but the powers and mind IS Jean.
Also, Jeans mind was Sleep INSIDE Maddie's until she used Cerebro and Jean woke up
Then when Jean fought Maddie they merged again.
Maddies been there a little less than a 2 years ever since Apocalypse kidnapped her the 2nd time- the 1st time sinister stole jeans dna
But Phoenix IS Jean and I won't even get into all of What Phoenix actually is either
Cooper the blond woman is NOT Mystique though they are friends and adversary at the same time

I wonder....it sounded like sinister used a post hypnotic phrase but we didnt see an immediate and obvious reaction from maddie. What if it made her leave the xmen. "Lady bird" phoenix "fly away" she left the team. Sinister is still pulling her strings. Even the name, it came out of no where. Wonder if that is part of it. No way he is done with her or is just going to let her go. He still needs a jean-scott baby....wherever maddie goes its where sinister wants. Wont be surprised if she returns as a member of his marauders
scott was legit being written off by chris claremont, he wanted to give him someone like jean to run off to alaska with and retire. the editor of x-men at the time wanted to bring back the original team under a new title which lead to the bad dad/husband arc for scott. the story needed to be cleaned up, and im glad they did it without totally letting scott off the hook.
What I don't get is why Logan's gonna let this perfectly good other Jean just walk out the door.

What dude that's the story! Bishop is needed time traveling, he has to go forward to save cable then he comes back to warn the X-Men and fight from the bleak future he sees- If you think about it, If it wasn't for Bishop then The X-Men would have died like they did in his original timeline

AND this is one of Storm's most essential storylines! Her walkabout is intense and personal before she comes back

They still managed to eff Cyclops up by taking away the decision he made in the comics to send Nathan to the future to save his life. They also race swapped Roberto’s mom. I’m starting to see the real reasons they got rid of DeMayo.
I’m not going to lie, when she fainted it pissed me off so bad. That irritated me in the old one. She felt so helpless.

Not going to lie shows a little bit better than the original but still overrated... It reminds me of why the original was overrated.. now I know some of you were going to hate me for this I don't care let's be 100 with ourselves you can enjoy the show that's fine I have no problem with that let's not lie to ourselves either. I'm 50 years old so I definitely remember the original and also understand why a lot of you have overhyped it considering that when you started watching it I was watching Dragon Ball on VHS tapes.or anime in general so a MAJOR step up. Okay so now to prove I'm not one of those stupid haters I'm going to explain what my issues are. The episodes were not aired in order all the time they over replayed the same episodes and never really finished an arc and when they did usually I miss it because that's what my mother wants to go shopping. No as far as the art is concerned I can prove it now how do you end the inferno ark in one episode I'm guessing you the next episode not complete their arcs and start a new one. I get what they were trying to do but it did not execute well. Same thing you're doing here. Like I said before I am not having a problem with people enjoying it I'm also somewhat entertained by it but I'm also aware of the fact that it's overhyped. Mainly because you're not seeing certain flaws Wolverine is useless! He Pops his claws and does nothing!!!! Teen angst can I help push some of the story-driven drama that's it.

I disagree. This show may not be perfect, but it is good. It’s true, this arc did finish quickly. But keep in mind, that there are only 10 episodes, and I’m sure they want to introduce more characters into the story. Plus, Sinister being the main villain, and now Cable being out there, it’s only a matter of time before we get Apocalypse. While it was rushed, it worked. It was well done. I don’t think it’s overhyped. Especially after the initial hate and skepticism that it had from the trailers. Ppl are just pleasantly surprised.
Wolverine isn’t useless, but he’s not center stage…which is refreshing. All X-Men media has focused on Logan, to the detriment of all the others ESPECIALLY Scott. It’s time to give other characters their shine. I’m sure he’ll be the focus of a few stories in the future, but finally other characters are getting their long due respect.

The reality is WOLVERINE was the OVERHYPED character, it was great for Hugh Jackman's career but the Wolverine character in the comics and cartoons was not the end all be all of the X-men. That's why I couldn't stand the Fox movies. They made Rogue too young, took alot of the main characters like Gambit and Jubilee out the movies, nerfed Scott try to get people to want a Jean Grey romance with Wolverine when she always wanted her husband Scott, not Wolverine, made Storm useless, and gave Bishop's time travel storyline to Wolverine. I find Wolverine overhyped and annoying in the movies just as much as the Deadpool character. So Wolverine not being front and center on the show is fine with me so far.

One I did not read everything you wrote don't get me wrong I will get back to it in a minute but when you started mentioning the movie and Hugh Jackman that has nothing to do with what I was saying that's why I didn't finish reading what you wrote since that's what you mainly focused on. When I mention the fact about Wolverine have you seen that he's in he has claws he does not use. Why are you popping out your clothes if you're not going to cut anything that's like pulling out a gun if you're not going to use it. With that said as a person who is 50 I understand an Nostalgia that a lot of you kids have because of the fact that when you started watching it you were going up on it.. when I on the other hand have already seen them was upset that they did not match up to the comic books as much as they should have not understanding at the time that because of licensing rights they couldn't. But it wasn't just that. It was a fact that the story arcs were out of order and the fact that they would start one story ark and then directly in the middle of that story arc they will cut to a whole new story arc without completing the last one and they already started doing that with this show. There's no reason Got The inferno story should have ended in one episode just to go into Days of Future past that was my point. Just like before it's somewhat entertaining but the difference is we had nothing else and at that time nothing was as close to the comics as the X-Men so we accepted it. Whereas now that's not the case. So no it's not just about Wolverine because that's one of the changes that they did not change and should have especially after seeing what they did in the last episode.
Okay read what you wrote and I was right in the decision of not continuing to read it since it had nothing to do with what I said. Just say you don't like Wolverine because although what you said isn't entirely false it's not accurate either.
