Matt here with another Daily Shave video and review.
The Razor: Henson Shaving Aluminum Razor (medium): This razor is a refreshing addition to the wetshaving world. Careful attention to precision and design has produced an extremely smooth mild feeling shaver with good efficiency and very little blade feel. The blade is clamped close to the edge eliminating blade flex and chatter. The cutting angle is set by the angular bar and cap, encouraging a shallower shaving angle for a smoother shave. The blade tabs are completely covered, and the lightweight material allows for fine control and increased maneuverability. The tungsten bushing and threaded post is smooth and precise and is extremely satisfying to clamp down. I used the recommended Astra Green, with excellent results. This razor delivers top quality and value. This is one to check out.
The Soap: Wholly Kaw Entropy man. The scent is 7-8/10 strength complex tobacco and leather fragrance with fruity plum note, vetiver, rum, black pepper and hay. The tobacco is the sweet pipe tobacco type, but the predominant aspect (to me) is the leather accord. The Siero soap base is among the slickest and most moisturizing available, with its innovative use of donkey milk, buffalo milk and whey proteins. Sri’s a wizard.
The Brush: West Coast Shaving Two Tone brush with 26mm silvertip knot. This soft knot is
densly packed giving it decent backbone and scrub. I love the 1950’s vintage design
of this brush. Like many of the WCS brush offerings, this is a lot of bang for your
buck. This 26mm knot feels huge and holds a ton of lather. It’s a great option for
    newbies and veteran wetshavers alike.
Aftershave: Wholly Kaw Entropy Man Aftershave Toner. The scent is long lasting and the toner is packed with skin food. No moisturizer necessary with this splash, and no alcohol = no burn.

I enjoyed watching that! Great review. Brought me back to the days when I would watch my dad shave.

I have sensitive skin and absolutely love my Henson AL13 Mild (Black). So happy I bought it. The like the long handle and like the fact it’s precisely made. I am new to wet shaving and found the transition from a cartridge to be very easy. I have been using Highland Springs Havana Vieja shave soap and love that product as well.

I opted for the titanium because I didn't want something quite so light as aluminum. It's still light, but not overly so. I'm glad you mentioned that strange "suction" sensation you get when it's on the angle of the shaving plane. I've never experienced anything like that, and it's a little weird because it can feel like the razor is dragging, but the cutting stroke itself is very smooth. Nice shave 👍

Henson has brought the DE Razor into the Space Age…the smoothest razor that I own ..and I have quite a few. The precision and CNC tolerances Henson has manufactured into this razor are outstanding. A lot of thought and design work went into this, and maybe best of all, it is manufactured right here in North America, in Ontario, Canada. If they made one of stainless steel I would be all over it. However the Space grade aluminum they use is fine, but feels light. However they have a lifetime warranty on their product. Thanks Matt for the great video. M.

Believe it or not, it just comes natural to him. He doesn't even have to think it out. The guy is a pro.

I just got the medium, aluminum model. Very smooth, but I felt I had to go over a few areas more than I usually do with my 34C. I’ll have to do a few more shaves before I’m sold one way or the other

Quick top. You can make the mild version more aggressive just by not tightening it down all the way.

Henson recommends you not do that. You're messing with all the carefully calculated geometry that Henson designed for the razor. This razor is using thousandths of an inch tolerances and it wouldn't take much to screw it up.

I've never used a DE razor up until I bought the Henson last week. Only used it once so far but I like it.

Hello, I'm a fan of mild, smooth razors but the ones that are also efficient. I have ordered a Henson and waiting for it. There are two razors, one for a man and one for a woman, the extra mild one you've mentioned is the woman's one. Henson just launched this razor in Titanium, 200 bucks. Let's see how well that sells. Have a nice day.

This one fits the bill mild and smooth . Efficiency is more than the 34c or EJ DE89, for reference, similar to the karve C plate IMO

I have this Henson and I love it. I have also have a few Merkur, Muhle, and a Rex Ambassador. The Henson is quickly becoming my go to razor.
Like a typical Irish beard. Same here. LOL

I have an open comb Gillette ball end which weighs 1.8oz. That's my lightest. Most are heavier though. Not sure how I'd enjoy a razor that light. Good presentation with good data by you. I'll be checking the website. Regards

This one is definitely as light as a feather. But man is it a smooth shaver and holds that blade very tight

Hi between this razor and Rockwell 6c which one would you recommend for everyday shave (sensitive skin)? Thanks

    Great explanation on the Henson.
    You are very professional.
I went ahead and picked up a Henson medium aluminum.
Could you tell me if the towel you used at the end of your shave is made for shaving?
Thank you and keep up the excellent work.

I used the medium to shave my face and my head and it was good. The mild for the head shave was recommended through.
