      @@bobgeorge4510 salesmanship is integral to entrepreneurship. My father would simply be getting by compared to being a rich man without his salesmanship. All of his repeat customers come back because he's likeable and easy to be around. He turns that sociable level up to 11 around customers and they just eat it up. He knows what he's doing. Just think about how far salesmanship would go with all those deals dragons turned down simply because they felt they couldn't work with the business owner.

      Yeah, that was a weird flex on his part. Like, for that amount of money, you either commit and invest or you don't even bother and say you're out. I got an impression that Theo actually did NOT want to invest, that's why he came up with 50 percent and omitted the fact he's got friends in all the right places. Such a weird move here.       It's not the money, it's what they immediately bring in sales and revenue...and remember, not only will they not, but they cannot tell anyone about these products they have seen, plus the show does not air for months after the taping. There is a reason for that....confidentiality agreement and contract. They CANNOT divulge what they have seen unless they invest in it.

If you watch the upload recently the he mentioned he still did the heavy lifting, but they put him in the room to sale the product. Don't get me wrong, they gave him a goal and instructions which is obviously a great help.

      Yes.... and shocked when it was rightly turned down then he was burnt so much, he had to start name dropping of a personal friend to the other dragons that could have done this that and the other. The product sells itself and he'll find resellers without Theo's personal friend. I'd stay away from bricks and mortar store strategy and sell online with social media promotions.

      Nah- there is usually a very good business reason when one of the dragons asks for a very large share of the company. There's nothing 'snaky' about his offer - he explained his reasons, and he had no competition from any other dragon. And there's nothing snaky about any offer really, even if every once in a while they may go a bit overboard - because it's an * offer* and everyone is free to walk away. Finally, can we all remember this is a heavily produced, heavily edited TV show and perhaps refrain from pretending that we know these people and their moral character in any way? You don't.

    Interesting that Duncan pointed out that 10% of the company for £100,000 means that the pre-money valuation is £900,000, because the post-money valuation will *become* £1m once the investment is added. In later seasons they don’t even differentiate between pre-money and post-money valuations, and grill the entrepreneurs on why their company is worth a post-money price *now*. I wonder if the producers asked them to “dumb it down” for viewers.

    You can get these very cheaply now. On Amazon Uk you can get all the pieces for £3.99, or two full sets for £4.99. Bargain! Shame the bloke was so unlikeable. Perhaps it was just nerves?     The Canadian version of Dragon's Den have a lot more accepted pitches and investments.They retrace past pitches and show the progress of the investment with outside cameras and updates on their success.They seem to have a lot more 'fun' by inviting the dragons to participate in the pitches.The original British show is much more conservative and cautious although very entertaining.
