Most middle class families absolutely can't afford even a few months without income.
I commented this somewhere else, but it's probably a lot easier to take risks when you know that if you fail, your family will at least still have a place to sleep afterwards.

Lots of assumptions there. You don’t even know how successful they are, lol.
I don’t know her story at all, but if she did get propped up by rich parents, then she is indeed pretending she took a risk. And a loan from a bank is different from a “loan” from a family member. Families tend to be a bit nicer about money, at least in my experience, but it really depends on the family.
And most of the people being self-made isn’t what they’re referring to. They’re referring specifically to her, so I don’t get your point in bringing up a bunch of people. Unless by “most of the people” you mean most of the people on this show, then I get your point (as they mention “like most of the people on this show,” not “like most people” in a general sense).
If Ego Master was lying, fair enough. Idk her story or anyone else’s story on this show. And I don’t think it’s bad that people get help or loans or anything. I guarantee you that anyone who had rich parents or whatever would definitely use them to their advantage. They’re just saying she shouldn’t pretend she took a risk (assuming she did pretend, again, I don’t know her story).

I know somebody who put everything he had on the line trying to get a business going and he just lost his house and put his family life into complete termoil because of his irresponsible behaviour. Not a very smart thing to do and might I say a pretty selfish thing to do when you have a family. I can't stand behind their logic. It's easy for them to sit back now in their ivory towers with their comfort and millions while they point the finger and criticize these two for having a safety net, makes me sick. Just because it worked out for them doesn't mean it always will for everyone. A person has to eat and feed their family in the meantime, that's what matters. This is yet another classic tale of the rich being completely removed from common sense and reality. Looking at how far these guys came already and that they sold and delivered 6.000 coolers already, I think they could have a job and do this. Seems manageable to me. I think some sharks having the 'I gave up a lot so you should too' mentality is a childish one. I get that people need to invest and commit, but at the same time these two guys proved already they can do this.
I agree with the 'no patent in India' and 'maybe a one hit wonder' arguments. I would bail on these reasons as well.

You do realise those weren't his real reactions, right? This is reality TV, the meaning of which is basically "not reality but dressed up to look like it _IS_ reality when it's really just a constructed narrative". They can use clever editing to create something there that never actually happened. It's remarkable what you can create just by taking reactions that happened 20 minutes before the thing they're supposedly reacting too, and stuff like that.
Charlie Brooker (the creator and main writer of Black Mirror) did a great segment about this very thing on his show Screenwipe, it's only 5 minutes long so give it a watch - ruclips.net/video/BBwepkVurCI/видео.html

This whole programme is just a silly game of 'Contrary Mary'. If the entrepreneurs want stability, the Sharks say they're not committed enough; if they've given up their jobs and won't take a wage, the Sharks tell them that's unsustainable and stupid. If they have the patents for Australia and New Zealand, Britain and the moon, they say 'What about India?' Honestly, it's like some idiot saying 'You've missed a bit!' when you're painting something. No matter what the entrepreneurs present, the Sharks just claim the opposite is better as an excuse not to invest. I mean - seriously - criticising someone for not taking enough risk! Really? When every single Shark makes every single rejection of a deal based on it being too risky? Or as we have this time 'not certain enough'? I wish the entrepreneurs had said: 'So let's see if we get this - you think we're not prepared to take a risk so you don't want to invest because it's too risky?'
