I've converted my 2008 Toyota Yaris in to a camper. I did remove the rear seats for extra head height/storage for my paddleboard but got a single bed, lots of storage, cooking facilities. In the wheel well I lined it with insulation and even in the height of summer this area kept cool enough to keep butter and cheese etc.

Very limited market for those who literally just want to doss down for the night, the big market is camper vans you can stand up in.

I was thinking IKEA version before he said it. Not everyone wants to buy a new car but many have vans they could just order a box and install it easily. Was cheap too, id buy one.

Already exists, many companies do it... The point here is that for micros, the companies doing it are all tiny entities like this one. For bigger vans there's Evo Motion Design. With the right brand, guidance and marketing, they could become the Evo Motion of micro campers. :)

There are plenty of converters in the country. This is not really a dragon dens style investment. They are offering new.
Wouldnt this be great with a small video clip of the guy getting home from his mundane job in his work van and unloading his carpet fitting gear / electrician / plumbers kit and fitting this for the weekend? Great for the
many solo travellers.

That is some great pricing, over here in the US a van like that would be $40K or more
It's a 10yo car with a £2k kit for £10k, car would cost £5-7k.
But wider and bigger? No?

The dragons really need to get out a bit more and mix with working class people. I have no idea why they were so surprised with this concept. In my experience, the market is flooded with with the micro camper kits and conversions. But anyway, in any case, I'm please that Jason walked away with a good deal and a mentor. His business will no doubt go to the next level.

That concept is an absolute winner, that they didn't all get it is beyond me, I would have jumped on and grabbed this deal tooth and nail myself. I know for a fact there is a HUGE market for this, especially with so many workers working from their car these days, plus all the dealerships all over the world who would jump at a kit that is THIS affordable. It's a winner.

@@ketovoreking5440there are various news stories about it, including one from the BBC which explains why. Lots of reasons - false claims, complicated ownership structures, and (most simply) both sides have a better think and decide to pull out.
It is a TV series so pouring over accounts, and signing legal documents is probably not a ratings magnet!
