Star Fox Zero is very much a spiritual successor to Star Fox 64. The style, gameplay, and story all all similar to the point where Zero feels like a remake/re-imaging of Star Fox 64. As you can imagine, there is not much story here. But it's a definite nostalgia trip. The control scheme with its ridiculous motion controls are pretty bad. You can change the controls to not always have motion controls on, but you cannot turn them off completely. The game is nonetheless loads of fun, especially if you decide to play the game co-op with one person piloting and the second person being the main gunner.
As always we used important gameplay, relevant dialogue and all cutscenes to create a fluid cinematic experience. This is MOSTLY gameplay, which is why we won't even title this "All Cutscenes" but we figure you Star Fox fans would want to check it out. Hope you enjoy!

The problem with the chicken walker is that besides looking stupid it doesn't actually offer anything that the Arwing couldn't already do just by hovering and strafing. It already had the capability to attack like the walker does, without a contrived transformation ability.

it's just a shame that this really belongs on the gamecube & we should be so far along with innovative ideas on the brand instead of having to settle with nostalgia which is why it's good instead of holding it's own.

Here's the sad truth... Most of us who are watching this "movie" are people who can't afford a wii u... Or just too cheap to actually buy this game... Or just enjoying these guys hard work on this vid.

I'm only watching this because I only got super smash bros add on content not long ago and I can't get another game until like next month or something like that.
I can’t afford a lot of games, but seeing these movies helps me understand world building and lore creation. I only wish that Nintendo would expand on the Star Fox lore, as I think that would make an interesting game these days.
The game itself was an absolute dumpsterfire. Be glad you saved your time and money.

This really needs a switch release
I may sound old but i feel that all this innovation didn't really add anything new to that awesome game, sure, in this one they have AT-PT's..... i mean Fox Walkers (?) but in the old one we had the freakin Blue Marine. I remember spending hours playing SF 64 and trying to unlock the god forsaken on foot mode and trying all the alternate routes, my favorite level was probably Katina and Area 6, the most annoying was Sector Z for always giving me a broken thumb. Those were some good times, i'll stick to that one any day.

Falchion Of Eternity they tried that with assault and adventures. Some people didn't like it.
I think people disliked Adventures and Assault for very different reasons.
Adventures: Zelda-esque gameplay. Not even really a Star Fox game.
Assault: The ground combat with its flawed controls. It was otherwise decent.

They give you tips, are trying their best to protect you and each other and sometimes shoot enemies, from their personal rival from Star Wolf to even Wolf himself!
Hey. Here's an idea, how about have a Star Fox game that involves the player playing as all the pilots at once and have the player alternate back and forth on who you're controlling instead of Fox trying to save everyone's ass?

Hey, what was the great fox emblem item and made the arwing turn gold?!
I thought those walkers were aparoids at first but they appear to be just more androssian tech. Although the design still bothers me, why introduce and use these crawlers when they were completely void in the 64? A part of me really wants to claim that this could mean Andross has Aparoid tech as well. I'm gunna keep playing with this idea a second: Notice how a Cornerian ex-scientist has biorobotics? He controls his robot self with great dexterity, enough to give Fox a run for his money. Did that come from Corneria? The teleporter we learn was stolen from the Cornerian army. Beltino in Assault says that seventeen years before the Aparoid invasion a single aparoid attacked Corneria and then vanished for years after victory over the fleet....isn't that strange? Aparoids are not dumb bugs, they were planning something...OR...they were interrupted by andross who then made a deal/stole the aparoid to study it's biorobotics.
Now we have come to believe with the data given to us from this game: Andross is either not killed and still out there (Though notice the lack of post credits cackling) or the robot andross IS andross. NOT a fake. He UPLOADED his biology to this tech making him an Aparoid without a Queen Hivemind.
How build up such an army so fast? the BOSSES could just be devoted worshipers of Andross but the fleet he created in such a little time is insane. He MUST have had a production secret. Aparoids? We know they could heal and replicate indefinitely which is why you needed the DNA bomb Beltino makes for use against the queen. IF Andross has Aparoid tech, what if he used the same self replication the Aparoids had?
How much genius does Andross truly use? I just watched the movie: "Arctic Dogs" Which was a fun movie but the main antagonist was basically Andross. "Otto Von Walrus" (yes thats his name) was a crazed scientist/engineer who wanted to speed up global warming to destroy the earth. His MAIN issue was his EGO. He was NOT a brilliant scientist/engineer, he only had the IDEAS. He used the love interest in the movie, who was also an adorable engineering fox lady, to create his evil inventions. It wasn't until she realized SHE was the genius NOT him that things went south for him. Reason I'm bringing this up is...What if Andross isn't as smart as we are lead to believe? Dangerous, yes, but gentius? What if everything he has accomplished was thanks to the Aparoid tech he stole?
That would mean the Queen wasn't invading Lylat to rule over it....She wanted revenge against Andross, only to discover he was 'killed' by the StarFox team. Then shifting her vengeance onto the Star Fox Squad.
I could keep on typing about this but I gotta go to work, If I see comments who are interested in this theory I will try and respond.

basically, the game was meant to be some sort of Restart of the Series? however the Promotional Anime Segment Literally mentions Sauria (aka Dinosaur Planet in Star Fox Command), which nobody in the Universe of Star Fox even knew that it existed, but apparently according to Star Fox Zero, Sauria exists in it

Wait a minute, why is there a Wii U Pro Controller symbol at the place where you fight Leon? I thought this game was just going to have motion controls with the Wii U GamePad.
Anyway, this looks just like a re-telling of Starfox 64 with only a few new features that were in the cancelled Starfox 2, with some decent English VAs (unlike the original Nintendo 64 which had Japanese VAs trying to speak English).

pretty much the Series is *Somewhat* dead, there has been claims of a New Star Fox Game in development back in 2022, but its 2023 now, and nothing has been said about the claimed New Game.

What is Nintendo doing? Sitting on so many good IPs and wasting them on gimic consoles. Focus on peer competitive console so third party is available. Then capitalise on your Nintendo gimicks making sure not only most original ips use it. But this time you have allot more ips so people say I want a Nintendo for.
This shows how much Nintendo is running out of ideas to make good games or creatively come up with new story lines. Just sad Nintendo.
+Relmtopper That's not what this is about. The fans wanted a Starfox "Remake" and that is why there is only so much change and innovation. If it would have been much more than that, this may have pleased newcomers, but the fans of the original games would have been turned off.
This game is what I consider service for fans who enjoyed the old games.

YaBoyTheC.I.B Yes. It's clear that they added the dual screen control system as a means to utilize what the WiiU can do. It's completely playable, but difficult to get decent at, let alone good.
That steep learning curve halts most players from getting very deep into the game.
That, and unlike other games with heavy motion controls like Splatoon, there is no option to change to stick controls if you prefer it, and you still have to use the other screen to aim.
It's just Platinum making the game harder when it wasn't needed.

Nintendo has do do quite a lot to doom itself since its in a position of recovery thanks to the 3ds growing line up and Pokemon go monstrous success! Not only must the NX fail but also the new Zelda game in order to make a effect
Nintendo is still strong. The switch era is as successful as the N64 era. Don't bring Sega back, they had their run and only now make sub par sonic games.
