Turki Alalshikh is in talks for a super league involving eddie hearn's Matchroom Frank Warren and Queensbury Toprank Golden Boy and PBC, since Tyson Fury vs Francis Ngannou weve had the undisputed Fury vs Usyk and it feels like all the fights we have ever wanted to see are now being made. But what's in store for Turki Alalshikh and his league?

Historically, great artists would have a "patron", which is just a rich guy or prince that likes that person's art, and supports him financially. Turki is like a patron of boxing. He really loves boxing and respects the boxers.

There’s absolutely zero chance. BUT, imagine The Ring belt but if it actually had power and pockets to make the best fights ? They’d have to let Turki in if there was a Riyadh belt and he could position fighters and maneuver fights so that a gd mandatory actually meant something. He could then create a way to keep those with his belt actively engaged with boxers of others belts to ensure a revolving door of the best talent. Otherwise, buying out basically all of Vegas just isn’t feasible.
Boxing in the states has regulatory oversight via the government for starters. Good luck with that. It’s not about money. These goobers are public servants. You’d fully eliminate their assignments. Plus I think you’re heavily underestimating the characters backing boxing In vegas haha like… HIGHLY overlooking that aspect. And the history of boxing in Nevada as well as the players. That we know of. It’s not just the belt systems. It’s the hotels. The venues. The investors. So many more moving parts. There becomes a point where you can be wealthy and throw money at problems but if the goal is to transform the image of the region through sport, they have a path WITH the involvement and relatively hands off approach from Turki. Of he wants to do this, it sounds less in line with their goal and more just to control more of the sport. Thats just my own speculation and of course not knowing the directives or guidance of the their project. For instance you didn’t see formula 1 get bought entirely by anyone in that region. But oil money did indeed buy a few teams and seats in important places with a few more races in the region. I could see this being a purposeful moon shot to negotiate down to making their own belt as mentioned.
Not to mention boxers aren’t active enough in the slightest. UFC fighters as contenders fight minimum 2x a year and an active champion will go 2-3. But you wouldn’t need to address that if Turki made his own belt that stood above the rest that was most revered , could have more financial incentives or atleast no fee. Imagine how happy boxers would be simply not paying a toll haha.

It's simple, no more hype to decide if a boxers good or not. From now on a boxer credibility is based on a points system determined by who he has fought and how he won...BOSH!
1 point if the opponent was just a tomato can with 2 wins and 60 losses on his record, regardless if you KO him in a round.
10 points if you beat a Crawford by SD, 15 by UD and 30 by KO. That type of thing. This would stop somebody like Wilder being thought of as a GOAT just because he KO'd loads of nobodies and was overhyped to death by Finkle and Arum. Under the points system he would literally only have been a journeyman having beaten almost nobody of note.

    Here is my 2 cents.
There is this super league with their own belts.
Call it the TBL (Turki Boxing League) or what ever.
When you win a belt you have to defend it with in 4 months.
You can only fight for a TBL belt in a TBL fight, no other belts from other boxing associations can be on the line in a TBL fight.
TBL fights are simple 80/20 split on the purse, 80 to winner & 20 to loser.
Change the scoring system to stop draws.
The TBL fighters are allowed to take other fights outside of the TBL but champions will be locked into that 4 month defend clause.
Winning purses for TBL championship fights will be paid on the next TBL fight.
This will stop a fighter scooping a big payday, the belt and never coming back to the TBL.

Before you even say that. Yes I am a casual. But here is my proposal, and if you have a brain you are going to love it . Let’s pick one date in winter and one in summer. say the two solstice, because they are cool. The four belts choose their Champion. It doesn’t matter how they do, as long as they have one champion each, for the tournament. In the summer date, we have two fights, in a “semifinal” style. In the winter date, you get the “final”, and one single champion and also a single belt winning. Uncle turki provides the money to protect this from corruption. The four belts would become active elements of the game, soon there would even be “fans of the belts” a bit like it happens with car sports. fans would be guaranteed each year at lest three great fights…and likely several others, as the belts will need to find the best champions around to have their chance with the tournament. Four belts is actually the perfect number in such a scheme. It would work like the four colours in “calcio fiorentino”, where in fact there are also four teams, with two dates each year, one for the semifinals and one for the final (though in calcio fiorentino the two dates are both in June, but that is a team sport so it is manageable in one month. Box would require one year, hence one date in summer and one in winter).

Buying up the promotions is less helpful than buying up all the belts, then binning them. The idea of being a "world champion" is completely meaningless if there could be hypothetically 3 other fighters claiming to be the "real" champion, because they have a different coloured belt. It's so hard to be undisputed not only in a boxing sense, but a bureaucratic sense too, all the bodies want a piece of the pie. Scrap them all, why should we be loyal to them? What loyalty do we owe to them? They don't give af about the fans

The UFC is losing its ability to claim that it has "the best fighting the best" every year as it declines to sign quality talent. A combination of these guys not wanting to get peanuts to fight and the UFC not wanting to pay top dollar for fighters with lesser name value has pushed the UFC to favour self made talent through Dana White's Contender Series and The Ultimate Fighter tv shows, who are often regional level fighters willing to fight for $10k/$10k. There are world beaters in Bellator/PFL, ONE Chamionship, KSW and Oktagon, but the casual UFC watcher doesn't watch those, so the UFC doesn't care. These guys are sometimes offered to join DWCS or TUF and decline - as they should. It's sad to see.
I could also imagine a similar problem emerging everntually with a Boxing Super League. But this is still a good first step for boxing overall.

This is why being a champion isnt as meaningful as it once was. Dilute anything and it gets weaker. There was a time where EVERYONE, boxing fan or not knew who the Heavyweight champion was. Everyone knew Marciano, Louis, Liston, Ali, Foreman, Tyson etc. Now how many people know today that Usyk is? That Fury was? That Wilder was? Larry holmes once said being Heavyweight champion was like being the big toe of God. Now its like being one of the arse hairs that he pulled out while wiping after takiing a dump. And times that by 1000 in the lighter divisions. That and fighters fighting once or twice a year have ruined the sport. Fighters need to fight. Im a lifelong boxing fan and its rare that I actually watch boxing anymore. I most definitely dont pay to view it. Because I know the majority of these fights are cherry picked crap that wont be in the slightest but competitive, and if ut does happen to be, a corrupt or negligent judge who hasnt taken a punch in his life will most likely ruin the outcome with their decision, destroying the entire point of the fight to begin with. Like Tank Davis is a great fighter. But who tf was the guy he fought last night? Never heard of him in my life but that was ppv?? I remember when ppvs were special events, two great fighters who you didnt know who was gonna win. Now theyre on every week with some no name cab driver fighting whoevers been on too for the last 5 years or the heavyweight champion fighting a guy whos having his very first pro fight. If you told anyone that 30 years ago that that would be a major ppv boxing event, they wouldve laughed and said "Yeah I saw Rocky too!" Boxing continues to give itself so many black eyes its no wonder why its so blind today.

I love the idea of promoters being reduced (while making more money) to the role of contractors. I love the drug-testing aspect. I love the idea that stars won't be able to hold belts hostage while pursuing vanity projects. Et cetera, et cetera. And even if we look back ten years later and say, "Yeah, THAT went over like a lead balloon," at least it can't be worse than what we've had for the past 15-20 years.
