We've always envisioned moving into the woods by the lake and building our dream tiny cabin as a home base for us to come back to in between our international van life travels. We cannot wait to have a place to call our own!!

Who are we?
We're Eamon and Bec, a Canadian couple who previously lived and traveled full-time in our self converted Sprinter Van!! When the pandemic hit in 2020 we made the difficult decision to abandon our van in Africa and fly home to Canada. Now we're here... living at a cabin in the Canadian wilderness looking forward to an amazing spring ahead 💐☀️ .

Definitely white trim with wood ceiling and floors. The wood window trim tends to draw the eyes in away from the view. You’ve done an amazing job on the house! Love it.
Agreed! White trim vote from me!
Ditto
Yes. It also breaks up the view. Your eye somehow can ignore the white and see it all as one huge window. Doesn’t work with the wood though. BUT they have to love it. That’s all that matters!
White window trim please. 👍
BUT very glad the beam was kept stained wood.👌
I would say white.
The purity of Bob’s jump into the kitchen is what made me give this video a like. Bob’s deserves everything good in this world.
Hahah SO true! What a rockstar!
Me too 😂
Hi 👋
I love the beam natural wood but the trim needs to be painted white. I'm with the others when they say it distracts from your amazing view. Thanks for sharing your life, love what you've done and sharing your adventures. I hope you are doing well.
Bob is totally becoming a star... he is such a natural!
So to call your father bob huh??
@@tennisjeff5595 huh?
Keep the wood for the window frames, if you still hate it later you can white wash the boards so they blend better with the
paint but also retain the overall effect of the wood. You two have transformed that house in remarkable ways. What was
once a heavy, dark atmosphere has turned into a clean, warm and comfortable space that anyone could love. So well done.
It's growing on us!! Although I do like the white wash idea!! Have a great Sunday J!
I love the idea of white washing the trim or even your cloud white paint. It would give an even flow across the wall of windows. Just an opinion…
This is what I had thought too. I agree with other comment that white would make even flow. Make windows the focal point.
Love the white wash suggestion! I feel the wood breaks up the view into sections, while white can trick the eye into seeing as one expansive view.
Paint all the trim white because even though the stained wood trim emphasizes the ceilings and other wood features nicely, the trim stands out, taking away from the view, the awesome view.
Paint the trim white. It will give it a seamless look across and not take away from the windows. Ones eye is drawn to the trim and not windows. Love everything else!!!!
so happy that mossa has a forever home. perhaps in the future you could do an up date on both mossa and rojo!
I wonder what happened to him after biting the hand that feeds him.
@@tennisjeff5595 you mean when he reacted with a pain response?
@@ashleyg8671 No when he bit Tim and now it is not known where he is???
@@tennisjeff5595 how do you know he bit tim?
@@MArieRichard95 in one of their previous video mossa messed with a porcupine and got needles all stuck in his snout and bit tim when him and eamon tried to pull them out (which your not supposed to do) as a response to the pain. completely not the dogs fault
Eamon spinning into space was the cure for my low mood today 😂
Aw thanks Lyndsey, have a great Sunday!
I know, me too! I seriously LOL’d at that!
I love the wood trim! I think it makes it feel more homey and natural, especially with the nature view out the window! It makes it feel like the outdoors are coming inside a little if you know what I mean. Love you guys, hope you are doing as well as you can be. Lee would be proud of you both for making the most of your life!!
The wood trim around the windows takes away from your fantastic views. When they were surrounded by white the wall disappeared and the view just pops out at you.
I would paint the trim white as you still would have the texture difference but a colour tht would melt in.
Donna, I was thinking the same thing. The white around the windows created an infinite scenic view. Now, I feel like the wood trim frames the view which is way too dimensional and less organic.
Yep Donna thought the same thing ...that view 🥰
How are you doing
So glad Mosa has a new home!
Have a great Sunday Sheri!
@@eamonandbec I hope they love and understand him the way you guys did... God bless y'all 🙏🏼💞
Please do an update video on Mossa when you can. It would be great to know how his new home turns out. Thanks! Good job on the new changes! 🌿
Will do 😊
@@eamonandbec 💗 Thanks 🙏🏼
Wood trim around the windows is very nice. Matches the door trim. Chefs kiss
Molding white! View is the focus not the molding. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I don't know if this is a Canadian thing you do with the trim but in most part of Northern Europe we cut the trim at an angle so you get proper joining in the ends. Roughly 45 degree.
I think if it were my house I’d paint the trim white. That way you don’t make the focal point the trim, but your eyes will be more drawn to the view outside
Same
Agree.
agree
Exactly this
Agree
Eamon, your Canadian accent has come back in full force!
Haha it seems to get stronger every week!
window expert is correct! i’m obsessed with it
That view from your living room window would keep me on the couch all day just to watch the changing of the light.
We feel ya Suzanne! Honestly, I’ve sat in that swivel chair and stared out the window for hours and hours doing nothing but sitting in silence. It has been especially healing since Lee’s passing 💛
@@eamonandbec I'm so sorry you lost your dear friend 🌺
I like the trim in natural wood tone. It's like a picture frame around that gorgeous view!
Trim can be tricky. The stained trim is constricting the view. White would look bomb😊😊😊 wider planks though and 90degree cut at the header not 45. Having the header wider than the sides will also make the window look taller. Check out traditional style window trim except without the frills. Some examples are way too fancy on google. Hey you asked 🤪 love you guys❤️❤️❤️❤️
I agree. Not sure about it being wider at the top. Would have to see some.
i literally cannot describe how much i love them. every sunday i feel at home and safe. thank you for always comforting me without realizing!! i know many others can say the same
Awe we love you too Tess 💛💛💛
Go white! The trim is lovely, but it makes the windows seem smaller!
The trim is fantastic. You have to think outside the box with the "cloud white." Go bolder with some silver / gray shade, or even a green tint.
Bob's click transition! 😄👏🏼 The fact that Bob was the one making the transition made the whole thing!
Haha yeah Bob is pure magic! Thanks for tuning in!
Bec I like you when the trim it's different it's pretty!
Love so much of what you have done with the house. The window wall is the best...but my feeling is make the trim white so it doesn’t cut the wall into sections. White will make it look seamless. Just my opinion. Enjoy whatever you love. 💗
Loving all of the changes! And thank you for the update on Mosa! So happy he is doing well in his new home! Fostering dogs is such a wonderful thing and you did amazing with precious Mosa!
I would definitely go white for the trim
So happy for Mossa! My little senior foster has moved on also... so good vibes all around ✌🏽 ❤️
Happy to hear about your foster! have a great Sunday!
Oh dang guys. I commented before you decided to keep it. I would not have shared my feelings on it. Love you two.
Go white. It'll open up the windows more and they'll flow better with the Benni white paint...Beautiful work guys!!! Ok so I commented before the end of the video and you made your choice still looks good though! ;0)
So happy Mossa found a living home! I think each transformation is a little weird individually, but when they’re all put together, they look spectacular.
Love the timber trims . It neatly frames the glass areas. You both work so hard to transform the cabin, it’s a great credit to you. Skills baby!!
So glad to hear beautiful Mosa found his forever family.
Thanks for tuning in!
Go white I would definitely paint the trim white. It looked like you had a glass wall until you did the window framing. It totally changed everything looking out the windows is different now it’s a distraction the window trim distracts. From the view. I would definitely go all white just look so much better…….
The trim looks great!!! Keep it for sure
How are you doing
Bob is such a ball of epic energy! Bob vibes 🙌
I honestly cannot believe he stayed up so late finishing up all the kitchen work with Eamon and then woke up early and drove back into the city. He’s a true champion 💪
Unreal! What a legend.
The wood trim looks awesome ❣ it breaks up the white and gives a nice contrast, framing the windows like pictures
The window trim would really pop and look modern if you painted it black. Wood stained trim is to 70"s and 80's.
The house is coming together I love it. The trim looks great, and I'm happy for mosa. As always thank you for the amazing content
Thank you!! And thanks for tuning in! Have a great Sunday :)
If i had to choose... I think you should paint that trim around the windows in white and see if that makes some difference...
But now that trim ain't adding any value than earlier.
Paint the window trim white. The natural color trim takes away from the view!
I have to say that glass wall and that view is something I would never get sick of waking up to. Stunning view. Your energy and love makes your videos and makes me feel like I am right there with u. In a non creepy way. Can't wait to see it finished
Great work guys. Definitely white trim to keep the open feel of the windows and the focus on the view. I like what you did with the shelves above the couch 🙌🏻❤️
Have to go white on the trim guys!
Awe Bec when you said “can you feel” about the beautiful view you sounded just like Lee 💜✨💜
Awe 😭.
And Bob may be my spirit animal! He is awesome!
I like your cool white painted walls with gloss window overlooking the lake! Sooooo relaxing!☺️ You did a good job guys😍👍🏻
When in doubt, White it out! Looks great!
Thanks for putting a smile on my face tonight- it’s been a rough one lately but love that I can always count on you guys to be around to give me a pick me up! Love you guys!
I like the white trim better!
Love the trim.
I love the trim. You guys are so lucky to have such a spectacular view,Your place is gorgeous. I’m going to get the Benjamin Moore paint you guys used tomorrow I love it I was totally trying to figure out which white I should go with, so thank you.
I literally laughed out loud!😂😂😂😂😂 I don’t know how you will top this video! You guys are stars!
Awe haha so glad we could make you giggle today Kathy 💛🌞
Hi
You guys should do whatever you want with the window trim since you're the ones that have to look at it everyday, but here's my opinion: the wooden frame definitely adds more of the cottage feel, HOWEVER it makes the boundaries of the windows a focal point-when the real focal point is the stunning vista (like it makes you more tied to the interior than the exterior). I personally think the wooden trim takes away some of the "open-ness" that the huge windows give. Another perspective though would be to look at it as the wooden trim frames your views like a living painting. Again, it's really what floats your boat!
Aww so glad Mosa got a new home 🥺🥰 ! House is looking great! See you next Sunday!
I love the trim on the big windows.
Bob is the undisputed star of this show 😍
Haha we're starting to think you all just tune in to see Bob!!!
I love that Bob is as crazy and laid back as you two are. Lol
He is not.I dont know what you are projecting.
I'd do a white-wash on that wood trim, it will bring it down to a white tone while keeping the grain/texture of the wood. (haven't finished watching at the time of typing this, maybe you will do this? ... or something to it. lol)
Keep the wood, I love it!!!
I would've personally loved black trim!! But I'd go with white over wood, for sure. Either way, what an improvement!!
Trim I love the natural look
I love the trim!!! 🤩
My eyes are gleaming at your beautiful home!! 🤭✨🤗
You both have eyes for design 💖💖💖
Eamon spinning into another galaxy sent me 😂😂😂
Haha glad we gave you a little giggle!
You guys totally remind me of my hubby n I 16 years ago living in a duplex remodel for the first 2 years of marriage. It truly set the tone that it never was a house I was coming home to ... it was that sweet soul of his 💕 No walls no problem just lots of love
not painting the trim is a big yes! the cabin is looking so great!
I like the trim.
I think the wood trim is bangin'. You guys are awesome and I'm loving your cabin!!
I liked the trims white, gave it a seamless look❤ ...but regardless the place looks gorgeous! ❤
I liked it white only better. The trims are now like picture frames... Before it was one big window feeling and nature was the one that got attention...
You guys are doing an awesome job. And so is Bob. The trim. Painted white. Your eye should be focus on the beautiful view in the wood trim just basically takes your eye away from the beautiful view. I would painted white. Love you guys, love your channel. Hugs to all of you
Love the trim
My opinion the trimming should be white, it seems like the stain is messing up the view, just my opinion, y’all have to live with it not me, so what ever you like, I love 💕
I do like the trim. But I think it changes the view of it being about one big long open window, into something more boxy.
Either way it will be lovely. With without the trim it provides a long beautiful never ending open window view
Love the trim!! I think you just needed to get used to it. It helps bring in a little more wood and balance everything out
Glad you are going to keep the trim stained. I prefer it the way it is.
I LOVE the trim! I think it should definitely stay.
Place looks fabulous!
I like the trim!
You guys with Bob, I laughed the whole show! Thank you. You guys are so funny. LOVE your new digs. Amazing and oh so 😍 beautiful!!!
The food in the grill the nuggets what are they?? They look amazing
We think everything looks so put together... well done. It really looks amazing!!!!!!! Stay safe.
I can't believe how hard you guys work! It's amazing. Your house is awesome!
Do you plan on going on any adventures in the Van in the future?
Awesome work guys
I love when we get to see Bob. 🥰
The trim frames the windows nicely, perhaps the change is that the view is now broken into squares ... The eyes are drawn to the trim whereas the white with no trim disappeared so that the whole wall seemed like one big wall of glass. A more mid-century modern esthetic verses cabin in the woods. You could always paint the trim white? Ultimately, it's what you like.
i love the wood trim honestly its what i would choose the reason why its bothering you is because all white made your view look bigger even though it wasnt
Change is great. I love the black fans the designed feature wall looks fantastic. But the trim you had me going crazy too 😱🤣😎🌈
I think that white would work for the windows better than the wood
Keep the wood. All white is going to just blend in and be blahish. It looks great!
it looks great if your going for that 70s montif
Love everything you did! The place looks amazing! However i would also go for a white trim. I like the wood, it kind of looks like massive picture frames , but it does distract from the gorgeous view. Sending lots of love from Berlin, Germany ❤️
Definitely the white, the trim is nice but putting a border on the windows makes the open feel of large windows and white walls seem less open and more enclosed, to me at least
Love your videos guys, hope you're doing okay mentally, I know we only see what you show us so I hope the other 90% of your week is good too 🙂
I like the wood from around the doors but not around the windows. It looks more open with just the white trim.
Personally, I think the wood trim draws your eye to the wood trim, whereas white trim melts into the white wall and invites your eyes outside, where they should be. Think of all you've accomplished in a short time. It's just amazing and I share in the joy of all you've done.
Exactly. Wood making the window smaller and kinda of a distraction from the beautiful view
I agree. White would be amazing.
Ditto!
Ya I would paint it for sure!
Yes! I really hope they paint it.
Eamon spinning into another galaxy was beautiful, thank you for adding that in😭😂
I came here to say the same thing! Cracked me up. 🤣
That's their new editors touch
Best
the Lee lanterns on full display next to that beautiful view... I can't imagine a more perfect spot. The trim looks great, keep it!
Yah that made our hearts happy
I loved all the changes, guys! Great work!
Thanks you two! Lee is very present with us here and her lanterns are the perfect reflection of that ✨. So glad you noticed them throughout the week with us 💛
Ok so if you want the focus to be the view then you do a white paint to ‘fade’ the window frames into the background... as soon as you frame the windows you make them jump forward and become the feature... so it depends what you want as your feature 💕💕
I Haven’t seen it into a long day day now and I am am nit too excited for you guys but I’m not doing doing well with all of us and all this is happening to me and I am not too if I don’t surprised doing too
As an interior designer, my advice would be to paint the trim white. Two reasons:
1. a contrasting color like wood or even a colored/pattern drape will tend to draw your eye inwards. Keeping it white will draw the attention out towards the view. Thus, white would be ideal.
2. The white trim will give your space a fresh and modern feel which will balance out all the textured wood on the ceilings and floor. The wood trim makes the wall feel busy and my eye focuses too much on it. Balance is key!
Yes!!!
Totally agree
Agree! Good job though. Love watching you guys. Sitting here giggling along by myself lol
I totally agree! The stained trim looks dated instead of modern. It also makes the windows feel much smaller and really distracts the eye from the amazing view. Definitely go white!!
Yes! I loved the white, your focus is then on that beautiful view :)
Do we all collectively love when Bob's back? He's so awesome!
Haha Bob is the best!! Have a great Sunday!
yes! love Bob! :)
