While you were given a better understanding, TRT failed to mention that the coup in 2014 had CIA fingerprints all over it. Russia is protecting itself from the United States and its allies that seek to place nuclear missiles in Ukraine that can reach Moscow in 5 minutes. Russia doesn't occupy or invade the countries of the world. It only interferes when threats around its border become evident. The U.S. and its allies on the other hand have been poking the big Bear for years as well as invaded over a dozen defenseless countries in the last 20 years exploiting their natural resources and killing over one million innocent men, women, and children. One has to rethink who is the real threat to the sovereign nations of the world.

I am an average citizen. I pay my taxes, expect my gov. to protect me when I walk in the streets, provide tap water, provide electricity so I can switch my lights on and warm the food for my children so they can eat.
I am very very.... tired of a select few who rule our countries and our planet....who decide and dictate to us in so many ways, what we can and can't do in everyday life.
Yes, you are making decisions that include war (without our consent), trade negotiations that do not benefit us as a country or the one you are negotiating with.
You, as politicians are negotiating our futures, in the wrong way, without our consent.
We are the people of this planet. We are the life souls, the living energy of every single country that exists on earth.
You (politicians), in the last 15 years have eliminated, discounted our inputs as average citizens.
Yes, we are tired of this ....you have disconnected us from who we really are.
You disrespect us.... as an average citizen.

NO one on this earth, any individual, any government, has the right to deny or take away our "average citizens" right to freedom.
What is freedom. It is a right to live in peace and harmony.
It is a right, to feed your wife and children in peace.
It is a right to look after your parents. Take care of their needs.
It is a right to be able to look after your animals (farming or pets).
It is a right to look after your neighbor in need.
It is a right to go to work....earn a living....
It is a right to have dreams....buy presents (build a Christmas tree)....save for a car or a house....go on holiday.
You do not as (politicians) have the right to take our natural given normal freedom away.
We have given you, as the representatives of our rights, the opportunities to make the right informed decisions.
Yes...You have failed as a collective.!
We are not, as the average citizen uninformed...We read the news, we retail in stock investments, we make our own household budget decisions..
We DO talk to our wives, our children, our families....
WE do and can make proper informed decisions about how to spend our money.
We can see, quite clearly, what are reasonable and unreasonable decisions made in terms of economics in our household budgets.
We are tired, stressed, agitated and negative because you as (politicians) have made us this way.
You have disregarded our needs, our fears, our stresses, our family arguments (over food/finances etc...)

too simplified, losing many aspects of historical truth: Krym had been for 300 centuries part of Russia (not Ukraine), and just from 1954 even against the USSR law itself was just "given" o Ukraine by soviet (not Russian!) leader Chrushhcev (himself an Ukrainian). In 2013 USA offered to Ukraine to pay more for the port of Sevastopol and to make its military base instaed of Russia. Krymeans and Russia were afraid of such future. The 2014 referendum to rejoin Russia was for Krymeans a long before awaited dream. Let´s just be in their skin. How could they feel after 2014 unconstutional violent coup d´ettat when nazi-like "Right sector" took power, outlawed Russian language and attacked in Odessa (burning alive tenths of Russian speaking citizens) etc. You are lying when you say: "more than 10 000 people were killed by Russia-backed separatists." - the killed people are directly mostly those "Russia-backed separatists", i.e. ethnic Russians living n that region for centuries. 1.5 milions of citizens fled from Donbass to Russia and more than 10 000 were really killed by Ukrainian nationalist "Azov battalion" and "Right sector" forces, because they were opposed the new nationalist goverenment backed by the US. So in your video there is not "EVERYTHING" we need know, just SOMETHING you want us to know. Very unilateral, unballanced in explaining the Krymean conflict. As for gas it is really short but good explained.

Russia was suppose to respect Ukraine after the Non-Proliferation agreement which made the world a far safer place. I'm in Ukraine, I know better.

@theater of souls Yes Russia had about 11,000 troops stationed in Crimea prior to the invasion. Most of these troops were naval and logistical support with the exception of 2000 Russian combat marine units. Prior to the invasion "little green men" Spetsnaz and FSB agents were strategically placed to disrupt regional command and control. This was in coordination with the extraction of the Russian puppet Ukrainian ex-president Yanukovych.

Easy, Georgia 2008 .I flew into Kyiv 3 years ago to bring supplies to one of the combat medics. 1 of the topics we spoke of was the 5 day Russo-Georgian war and his role during that invasion. Listen I don't trust Western MSM, thats why I actually fly to these countries, and put my feet on the ground and take a look for myself. Ukraine I've grown to love and return 1-2 times every year. I also don't have ill feelings towards Russians though I have noticed a higher level of arrogance in general from my dealings with them in SE Asia and Eastern Europe. On the subject of Crimea, the fact is that the vote took place under military/FSB watch. Those who resisted were not treated well. Some of the people did want Russia while some wanted too stay with Ukraine. But the fact is, the referendum did not allow them to Vote to stay with Ukraine. Only to become independent or become part of Russia. If the referendum was actually legal in accordance with International Law, then Russia should be holding a referendum in Chechnya as well. But they wont.. If I were Russia I'd take Crimea since it is a defendable location once seized, cuts off 1/2 of ukraine's ports which would normally be used to supply arms to Eastern forces which they are at War with. As far as Germany buying fuels from an enemy. Thats like saying America won't buy goods from China which we know we do even though we are at corporate/cyber warfare with them and they stated publicly they want to replace America as the world power by 2050. Economically replace America by 2025. Tying economics together can help avoid war, but it can also split and weaken alliances which Russia is doing to the EU but some members of the EU are choosing to do so. The West is by no means innocent, and I have no illusions of this as I've lived outside the United States for 1/2 of my life. That being said, for now, the West, and the US are still the best overall for freedom and standard of living.

If there is anything in the world that is no business of the US it is the relationship between the former Soviet state of Ukraine and Russia. These two countries are like Jack and Jill. Their cooperation or non-cooperation is their own affair. If Russia absorbs Ukraine, the life of the Ukrainian people will hardly change for better or worse. Ukraine was part of Russian Empire for centuries. It is no catastrophe if it is again. The Ukrainian government is desperately cozying up to the West trying them to defend Ukrainian independence solely because THEY are the ones out of job if Putin annexes the country. Why should the West care if Ukrainian politicians are out of work? The life of the people goes on same as before.
Let's get real here. Putin is not Stalin. There is not going to be any mass murders and forced relocations in Ukraine to cities in Siberia. No death camps. Putin may not be as fun to live with as Yeltsin, but he is not even as bad as Brezhnev. The idea that the West has to protect Ukraine because Putin will invade Poland is based on sheer fantasy.

Syria and crimea are important strategic havens for the russian military and it got threaten, so it defends itself in that manner. Yes, I have also been troubled by Western media press bias, usually against Russia. Yes, as some noted, history is critical. And often, Stalin is brought into the picture, the Western hammer to backup historical Western fear of Russia (and the CCP). Russia has always been attacked historically. And Russian people suffered. The West is no angel in this. Through NATO, it has indirectly threatened Russia with expensive logistical and tactical policies for decades. So Russia has been uneasy. The Ukraine has been deeply corrupt for decades. Yet this has been overlooked. The other issue is that a sizeable number of Ukrainians have deep connections to Russia, despite Stalin. Sure, there are Ukrainians who loathe Russia. Yet one cannot ignore those Ukrainians who are connected to Russia. By the way, Western press is the one that is pushing for war by citing pro-Western sources....stranger than fiction, Humanity keeps getting it wrong...

The Germans have signed the deal with Russia, the Pipeline is being built and the EU is very happy with the deal.
The fact the EU is happy with the deal that puts the EU's member states energy security in the hands of Russia, would tell most people the EU trusts Russia, and does not trust Ukraine.
With Trump having little interest in Ukraine, and the EU no having little interest in Ukraine, its becoming apparent the EU was in fact being forced by the Obama administration to support Ukraine, and bring them into the European Union despite many member states being opposed to Ukraine joining.

Not quite that simple. EU still welcomes Ukraine and the discussions regarding pumping gas BACK to Ukraine from the German pipeline to cut the Ukrainian dependence on Russia were had many times. The rest I agree with. There's been a grab to essentially passively grab power surrounding Russia (old Soviet buffer nations) to help put pressure on Russia to bend when needed/wanted. US set up militarily all over the place in Eastern Europe, very quietly, when this all started through operation Atlantic resolve. Trump isn't as interested as Obama, sec. Clinton and McCain were, however, in this power grab.

Okay, back up the timeline a bit. Much of Ukraine actually was Russia before USSR. Even further back, Kiev is actually the birthplace of Russia. There have been ethnic Russians there long before USSR. During dissolution a formal deal was struck, land was gifted to Ukraine, and Russia continued to use the naval port there. It's also important to cover the conflict regarding natural gas. Since it's not covered here, please research Ukraine falling behind on what they owed (I won't say it was stolen, but... it was stolen). This gave birth to worldwide grab to get Russian buffer nations, Ukraine in particular here, to begin going with the EU and possibly having gas BACK PUMPED through to Ukraine from Germany, or US liquefying it and bringing it in on tankers, OR attempting to begin extracting its own nat. gas for itself. Because God forbid Ukraine make it right and force criminals to pay it back. Ukraine said piss off to EU once they went over fine print of inclusion and control. In comes euromaidan, the violent coup which US fully supported, look up SVOBODA and McCain. Svoboda btw was ALWAYS ethnic (Ukrainian Slav) nationalist and anti Semitic. There are hundreds of moving pieces here and it's very complex. This breakdown missed quite a bit.

Muscovy is not Russia, when "Kievian" Ruś was briefly united the area of Moscow was populated by Muroms or Mordvins, ugro Finnic people.
No land was "gifted" to Ukraine in 1991, if anything it was "gifted" in 1918 Brest-Litovsk treaty, in 1920s during creation of Ukrainian SSR, 1939 during nazi-soviet invasion of Poland and 1954 (Crimea).
It was the Ukrainian teritory by each and every bilateral and international agreement anyay. Until Russia invaded in 2014, annexed Crimea and made a proxy war about some "New Russia". Ukraine would even defend itself and drive the invaders out if Russia did not send even more supplies, offciers and soldiers to Debaltseve.

Ruś were the Swedish vikings (Varangians), the Slavs were organized in different tribes and the tribe which populated Kiev (Polans) was ruled by the Khazars before Varangians conquered it. There was no "Kievian" Ruś before, it was a set of separate tribes and even under Variangians they were rebelling, Drevlans even killed a one Varangian ruler. Ruś was never really united.
As for Moscow it's true, at that time the area was populated by the Ugro-Finnic Muroms or Mordvins, the name Moscow is not Slavic. Only later Slavs arrived in the area and established trading post on the river Moskva, about 300 years after baptism.

I spoke to the soldiers who fought with the Russians during the Russo-Georgian war who would later fight against the Russians in the Donbass region during the beginning of that conflict. Ukraine revolted against the Russian Puppet president and Russia invaded in attempt to secure its control. Some in the east do want to be part of Russia as with any war you have people on 2 sides. Might not be too far fetched that NATO illegally bombed something again to start a war between Russia and Ukraine so they can come and "peacekeep" the 2 and in the end establish their own bases there to exploit the country of minerals and stuff xd

Some Ukrainian letters are unique , because Russian alphabet and language hadn’t them ( і ї є) , Russians don’t understand Ukrainian in general ,but Ukrainians can speak and read on Russian , understand Polish , Chezh, Slovenian ,Belorussian, and Yugoslavian languages , while Russians aren’t.

I checked the detailed number of deaths as quoted in wikipedia (for what they are worth...)
3318 civilians from UN(probably mostly Eastern ukrainian, but not specified)
4159:Ukrainian forces + volunteers (Ukr historical sources?)
    3544: DPR/LPR various
400-500: Russians US state department (compatible with 5000 to 10000 troops)
So indeed, the figure of 10000 includes civilians + military of both sides.

more or less equally split between the two sides, and roughly equally between military and civilians on each side.

I know who I would rather believe...It is NOT the Ukrainian government, my wife is Ukrainian, I am a Brit. It is also not western governments or western press. I believe those Crimean's interviewed. My own country of England..trying to prevent Scotland from doing the same..As with Spain and the Catalan's. The vote is only illegal under Ukrainian law..I wonder why that is ? A country, or part of, should be able to decide it's own future and not have one forced on it. Do you not agree ??? 90 %, of the Crimean people want OUT...do they not have a right to decide this question ?? Or do they have the other side force it upon them.
