1. Depends on what you mean with "sounds like the door is open". Now I had a pre facelift A3 8V, a facelift S3 8V and now own a RS3 8V facelift - What was consistant over all three models, ranging from 2014 to 2020 (and from what Ive heard it even still appears on the 8Y) is the wind noise while going 120ish kph. You always hear a little whistle coming form the side mirror at that speed, but not if youre going slower or faster. Apart from that, no problems regarding noise coming from the door. 2. Electric seats weren't a thing on the 8V, doesnt matter what model or what trim/spec. Electric/memory-seats are A4 and up only. 3. Power folding mirrors is an extra, can be retrofitted though. If you have power folding side mirrors, you also get a different switch on the door arm rest, giving you the option to "power fold them manually" 4. The AC actually has a sync mode, which most people dont know of, by holding down AUTO and AC for a few seconds. Took me 6 years of driving 8V chassis cars to figure this out lol. 5. Well not much to say to that, I guess thats down to personal preference, I think its quite handy. Could be worse though, on B9.5 models, you dont even have a fuel gauge anymore, it only tells you the fuelrange. The only thing I can think of what I hate, is the keyfob... my buddies 20 year old A3 has the same keyfob, than my 2020 75k€ RS3, kinda hillarious.
My folding mirrors must be an optional extra James cos I got a symbol on my mirror control on the door card that folds them in from inside the car butty, they fold in and out using lock/open on fob 👍🏼
@@jamesr50 I’ve got a 67 plate glacia white RS3 too which I’ve had over 3 years now and it’s funny you say about the wind noise because mine did this for nearly a year and then for the past 2 years I had forgotten all about it and it’s now not heard st all since not sure what it could have been

Ask girlfriend to slide the seat back when she’s finished driving the car. Even if you had power seats, and girlfriend got out of the car, her seat position stays. You can’t jump in an re-set the seats (or there wouldn’t be this problem). Resetting the electronic seat would need to be done with you standing in that rain you hate. And anyway, the power seats ain’t fast!, even if they give more precise adjustment. A bit consideration from girlfriend would nearly solve this. From me. With Driver Power Seat & shorter wife - both drive my Golf R.
I genuinely think as a normal car the golf is actually more thought out and a better car than the 8v audi. only thing better is that 5pot engine and dq500 gearbox
@@doomldn718 yeah but its even down to just a normal golf not just the R. things like the rear badge being a reverse camera rather than on the audi its just a camera stuck on the bottom. golf has a removable cover for the key hole on the driver door handle whereas the audi does not.
@@jackhavard2312 You're right, actually. I've never thought about it like that. But these little gimmicks make it special. The reverse camera on my RS3 8V always bothers me when i see it from far away. The same with the Key hole on the drivers door.
@@martin21482 I often think of swapping my golf R for an rs3 but even after almost 2 years I love my golf and I think id be disappointed because although the engine is obviously special in the rs3 I find the rest of the car lacklustre. Also another thing I like is the ACC radar is in the front badge of the 7.5 golf rather than the 8v.2 rs3 being like a mk7 golf and just having a rectangle on the bottom of the bumper. also you mention the key hole the golf has a key hole too but they put a cover over it, just seems like cost cutting on the a3 8v platform.
@phiIiptx you think the engine costed 50 grand? Do you genuinely think the cars cost to produce was close to the sale price? Do you think that just because the car has 1 thing going for it, they can slack on other parts of the car? Do you also think that other companies like vw won't have the missing features here fr? It costs very little for them to add but a lot for us.
Press and hold the auto button on the climate control panel to sync
Good to know Thankyou👍
Mine does the window thing also; as did my Golf R also.
You have a basic spec rs3 . I have a fully spec one . Difference is night and day .

Nice one rob should be a standard thing shouldn’t it really😂

Nice video, is the RS3 Y8 the one that came with the DAZA engine?
Thankyou 😁 The RS3 8Y came with the DNWB and DNWC
Also can set it so will fold on lock and unlock via Carista or OBD eleven and then change settings on head unit /car settings
I have obd eleven I’ll have to give it a try thanks!
