I’ve also had a Golf R and this is noticeably more expensive. Insurance, mpg definitely a lot worse and it’s really expensive on the brakes and pads when needed. But it is a far superior car - night and day difference to be honest.
Fuel economy is actually really good when you aren't giving it the beans. Premium tyres, brake rotor replacement and waterpump/bevel box issues can definitely hurt you 8n the pocket though. The 5 pot sound is glorious though, and the acceleration is addictive but you quickly get used to it and want more!
I have one over here in New Zealand, and that's my number plate - 5BANGR Stage 1 + tuned at the moment The handling characteristics aren't great in the twisty stuff, but a few suspension mods can help sort that out.
The engine makes this car. Without the 5 pot it’s just a S3 or Golf R and those are boring to drive in my opinion. The new 8Y RS3 is a lot better as it’s more rear biased but the tuning capability isn’t quite there. Those that have the capability want 5-8k 🤣 I think having the xdrive or Amg setup where you can switch between all wheel drive and rear wheel is best of both worlds. Wonder if Audi will ever do that.
I’m getting it dyno’d very soon to see. I bought it as a standard car and I’ve had someone look at it briefly who couldn’t find any flashes to the ECU.
Why Audi never put wingbacks as standard is a bit odd The interior is a big let down M140i is much better value imho and it will hand the Audis arse to it aswell.......the RS3 is way too expensive in comparison
The seats weren’t a priority for me when I bought it. I do agree about the interior. My Golf R 7.5 was nicer but overall the RS3 is a far superior car.
@@MMTWRXwhich specs? Every one I've seen shows it's considerably quicker on a roll in the dry, and having owned both (kept hold of the 140), I can confirm it's the case.
Yea no way this is stock amg a45s when they race there beat this car and that can do 0-60 in 3.8 sec seen less I do like these better then the new ones the new one is just so ugly
@@gregroles69to be fair (and I'm not an Audi fanboy), it is better than the Golf R, although my biggest issue with it is the price. You could have a used 718s for that money. Granted, it might be slightly slower and more sketchy in the wet, but it is night and day in terms of feedback, handling and quality.
@incognito96 you do realise it's a front engine rwd car, vs a car that has a transversely mounted engine in front of the axle and is front wheel driven primarily? How is the latter a driver's car, and the former not? Go and review any serious driver's videos comparing the two. Tiff and Chris Harris came to the same conclusion: the Audi, as great as it is, is a blunt instrument. The fact that the engine is in the wrong place and it's primarily fwd upsets the handling, hence the Audisteer moniker.
theres no way thats stock 😂😂
I know my thoughts too!! 😂
Thats 100%tuned! My Stage 2 RS3 running 520PS did 0-60 in 3.1 secs. Stock was 3.7
The understated looks is what I like with this car. Take the RS badge off it and most people wouldn't have a clue what it was.
I prefer the design of this car to any of versions that succeeded it. Same with the TT, the second version looks much better.
Great review!! If you can get the RS3 8Y on the channel that would be amazing 👍
Thanks Eddie! I will try my best to
That’s not stock, or your timing gear is glitching
My thoughts too, but the owner will get it dyno’d soon to confirm
Be interesting to know the costs of running one say compared to a golf r! Great vlog 👍

It’s definitely tuned for them speeds.
That rear RS3 badge is pissed af
she is a winner like it’s all about the 5 banger bro 👍🏻🔥💯💪🏻
It sure is!

GREAT review and launch!💪 Love it!!!
Thanks! 👍
Definitely tuned as the rev counter is higher than 7k. Standard red line is 6.8k. Still, great review of a great car (I am biased, I own one)
Interesting! Thanks for watching
Great car
Great review
Great gilet
You are a flirt Nosh. Thanks mate 🙌
One of the main reasons I bought my RS3 is the 5 pot but it also drives completely different to the S3 I had
if you were able to come to scotland, id love for you to review my X3M competition
I’m in Scotland on Monday 23rd December reviewing a RS7? Could tie it into my trip?
Yeah that sound is awesome
Great engine, poor drivers car.
Sounds great, reliability isn't the best. Gearbox is weak too. Agree with you it not being as good a driver's car as the 140.
The car is perfectly reliable, the DQ500 transmission is stout, stop being a fan boy with your pathetic 140
M140i is unstable.BMW in general is very unstable .its only M5 thats has holding and comfort.RS3 all the way .Drives better.
😂😂😂😂😂

5 pot sound or b58 sound ? Personally B58 but I am biased as have an M 240i
B58 sounds better imo and is there better engine all round imo.
B58..more of a quality refined sound. I mean the M140/240i original sound from 2016-2018 without any OPF or filters. RS3 is just raspy.
B58 sounds like trash compared to this. DAZA all day any day.
@rob198 yeah no, 6 cylinders will always sound better than 5.
@AnnoyedGlobe-sf9yo yeah no, not a dinky b58, sorry. A engine that sounds like a baby v10 vs a dinky 6 banger built off a diesel block....no thanks...
The daza is not better to tune, as tuners are now going back to the cast iron block, which is much stronger.
Thanks for the info!
Its tuned . How many people disclose if a car has a different map on the car and car dealers will not check
I’m getting it dyno’d very soon to see. I bought it as a standard car and I’ve had someone look at it briefly who couldn’t find any flashes to the ECU.
Doesn't matter. If a dealer plugs it into a diag tool, they'll see it's done 100mph standing still ie rolling road time

140 is the better driver's car by a mile. Owned both. Currently own 140, which I've keep hold of for nearly 8 years. Never selling.
RS3!
Not Stock !!!!
My golf R black edition is far superior
It always sounds better than Sex 😂😂😂 RS3 💣💣💥
😂😂
Naughty 😂
RS3 or, M140?
M140i reliable faster and worth every cent
@@user-rd3lz4ty5r yes it's reliable but the 140i is no way faster than a RS3 😂
@@user-rd3lz4ty5rare M140i really faster. Specs show it nowhere near the one of these.
@MargaretMaimela-lw6kh on a roll in the dry, it 100% is.

I’ve just swopped a 911 for one of these and these numbers don’t surprise me.
Nice!
You must be mad.
@@neil5242 why?
@@MMTWRXthe fact you question my comment says it all. Enjoy it anyway.
@@neil5242 I’ve had a 911 for 9 years, M3 before that and an R33 GTR forged and tuned before that. Don’t try and be clever it doesn’t look good. 🤷♂️

Stock AMG is not faster, as the gearbox tuning is not good as stock.
Just a Golf R in a frock to me
not with that engine.

Rs3 is 2.5 s3 is 2litere ..
M140i is better faster and reliable 💯
M140 is for children, it is far from better , move along.
It is certainty slightly quicker on a roll in the dry.

And handles like a pig on valium
M140 is a joke, the B58 is literally the most overhyped engine ever. My RS3 is quicker than a supra stock and modded, forget the nasty m140.
