    I adore that sink and step stool! This takes me right back to my grandparents kitchen in their 1920's Cape Cod style house in Santa Ana, So. CA. They had great tile work in both the kitchen and bathroom. There was a small door in the breakfast nook area that opened to the outside where the milkman would leave bottles of milk & cream. The bathroom had a salmon pink tub, toilet, and sink, with black and white tile mosaic to die for.

    As always you have done a terrific job. I think I will be making that stool, even though I don’t think my mum had that in her parents twenties home, that I am trying to replicate. I will ask her today when I see her for coffee. Maybe she will remember or maybe not. Her memory is fading and at nearly 95 I will forgive her. Ha ha She has a better memory than me. Thank you so much for the free pattern. Cheers Robyn ❤

      @@BentleyHouseMinis my Nan had a small curtain under the sink to hide the pots and pans. It was fitted over a curtain rod and therefor could be moved to the side to fetch things from under there. I remember it well, we spend most of the day in the kitchen which was the largest room in the house. A proper living in kitchen where the range would provide enough heat to keep us warm in winter.

    Such a weird coincidence! I was on your site looking for a video on those terrific shutters I bought digitally from you when I saw the photo of the sink and I thought, oh, I can't wait 'til she uploads a video on that ... then moments later voila! Also, I really love how you (and Spellbound) use materials other than wood because it really opens up options and more possibilities. Thanks!

      😄 Great timing! I had to go ahead and put the sink in the store a little ahead of the video so I could get everything linked up ;) I prefer matboard because its cheaper to get in big sheets and it doesn't split like wood does when you are using small pieces. So many great uses for it! Enjoy the shutters!💖

    Thank you so much for this. I love all of these pieces, but the sink is my favorite. You are so very talented! That step stool is amazing with the working step!

      Thank you Andrea!! I really enjoy the design part and I wish I had more time to do it honestly. But now that I am intertwining my store and my channel a little bit I bet I will! I am so glad you liked them!

    I love this project! I want to do an interior scene of a 1940s kitchen (I’ve already done a whole-house exterior) and I think that sink will fit beautifully. Thank you for sharing!
    And I gotta ask: how is your cardboard so straight??! 🤯 I saw zero warping!

    • @BentleyHouseMinis
      @BentleyHouseMinis  2 года назад +1

      Aww yay! I am so glad it will be useful to you! The secret is I put it together quickly with hot glue so it had no moisture in it. When I put together the final room... I will have to fight warping a lot more!

    My mom was born in 1931 and she remembers sitting under this kind of sink, behind curtains, using a potty seat. They had an outhouse and the little potty chair was kept under the sink because she was too little to use an outhouse.
