Absolutely cracking video, really enjoy your no bull honest videos. For a minute I got that lost in the 3rd fish in the last pool that I actually felt like I was fishing myself 😂👌🏻
@@craigdonnelly7908 thanks Craig! Your comment means a lot. Yes, I try and make honest videos, there’s much more to fishing than catching fish! Tightlines 👍
This river is seriously underrated. Ive caught all my best fish on thia water. I used to fish it every season behind tavarn y deri below the farm. Had many good size sewin early morning (first light) and just before dark on the fly and mepp. The black blade Black fury with yellow spots is absolutely deadly on this stretch. The sewin used to run right up to two rivers and branch off up towards a smaller tributary in pantyffynon. They would hold in a few pools further up in decent numbers. Haven't been for some 4 or 5 years now but ive heard the migratory fish are getting less and less which is so sad as the fishing there used to be amazing. I once saw a salmon on the Loughor stretch further down and it was easily a 20+lb'er....i couldnt get over the size of it. I threw everything at it but it wouldnt take. It went upstream a few feet, turned and went right passed me back down stream to the depths, it moved so slowly it was very surreal. When it passed me it must have been only 7 or 8ft away. Never experienced anything like it before or after. That would have been my once in a lifetime fish for sure!!!😮😊 Again most of the anglers bang on about the towy which is great water but this river can and has produced some cracking fishing over the years!!!! We can only pray that it starts to recover and the populations start to rise once again....heres hoping.
@@taff6987 glad you liked the video! Indeed, the Loughor is certainly a hidden gem - a river my family have fished since the 50’s. Like you say, let’s hope we see the silver tourists return in numbers one day 👍
Captivating and informative , great camera work and angling . As an angler who hasnt spent much time on the fly , your videos put across why we all love our fishing regardless of the discipline..
Thanks John! I’m trying to strike the balance between explaining techniques to beginners, introducing the river and of course catching some fish. Many more to come 👍
A joy seeing such beautiful brown trout returned to such a lovely river. 40 yrs ago ideal for tea but I so appreciate the conservation of our native fish. Thanks for sharing your adventure.
Thanks Duncan. Yes, always lovely to see them go back. To quote Lee Wulff, “The fish you release is your gift to another angler and remember, it may have been someone's similar gift to you.” 👍
Excellent video Lyn, I know how hard you worked to produce this one, you should be proud of what you achieved here. There’s loads more to come everyone, so as Lyn would say… “Watch this space…” 💪
Definitely Lyn. The last part of the video was very exciting. I was out the next day, the fish you spooked above flatfish pool was the in the spot I caught a 18 inch fish.
Hi Lyn really enjoy your vids mate keep them coming please. I noticed you are wearing leg protectors can I please ask which ones you use they look comfy Thanks Pete
